-Make a tonne of more money. IE Brock Lesnar last fight = $400,000. Floyd Mayweather Jr. = 30 MILLION DOLLARS
- Be a better fighter, have better KNOCK OUT ABILITIES ... which is actually used in a FIGHT
Plus you wouldnt be linked to the stigma that all mma fighters are homosexuals :love:

Money is important, but it is not EVERYTHING. Some people prefer using only hands and footwork, others perfer a mixture.
You should be asking why people do TKD, Judo, BJJ, muay thai, kickboxing or MMA when there is boxing?? People got their perferences and what they are good at.
They are both different sports. (with some similaries)
The Number 6 11-07-2009, 09:07 AM Depends on what level of boxer you are. I dont think there is too much money flying around the mma scene just yet, apart from the very top guys out there.
Lots boxers make a good living in boxing, but its harder to reach the top.
This could all change in time.

It's not criticism it's blatant trolling. Yeah Sherdog is still around, I started posting there in 99, and here in 02. What a fad MMA is, it's only been around since the first Olympics, long before your "superior sport". OMG someone likes to be a complete fighter instead of relying on his hands in the hopes he doesnt get put on his back and have his face smashed in so he's a ***!!!!!!

ignore that guy, he's weird, he posts in threads about MMA fighters and actually watches MMA and talks about it as if he is a fan and does have some knowledge on it, yet he also flames it all the time

Seriously. He calls it gay, the fighters homos, etc. Yet he is in this forum moreso than anyone else. One could only think he is telling us what he likes, gay men, which unfortunately for him is not what the sport of MMA is about.
