JOHNNIE COCHRAN DIES AT 67

Famed attorney Johnnie Cochran died today (March 29) at his home in Los Angeles after battling an in operable brain tumor.

Though he built his career fighting police misconduct, Cochran became nationally known while defending football star O.J. Simpson in the early 90s during a high-profile murder trial. He later became one of the most sought-after celebrity lawyers, helping P. Diddy fight charges stemming from a 1999 nightclub shooting, defending Snoop Dogg against murder charges in 1995 and representing Tupac Shakur in a 1993 sexual-assault case. He was also Michael Jackson's attorney in the 1990s and brokered the multi-million dollar settlement in the first child sex abuse case against the pop star.

"Certainly, Johnnie's career will be noted as one marked by celebrity cases and clientele," his family said in a statement. "But he and his family were most proud of the work he did on behalf of those in the community."

His wife and his two sisters were with him at the time of his death. Cochran was 67.

That marks the end of an era.

The guy got a murder off and used the dirtiest tricks in the book to do it. Johnny was a good lawyer, but an unethical man.

Whatever, I'm glad he got OJ off. That ***** had it coming. So did that Ron Goldbricker

I wish OJ would've killed Goldbricker's dad. If I ever meet that guy I'll beat the hell out of him, rip off his moustache and feed it to him.

glad to hear it. one less scum bucket protecting the guilty. i mean c'mon...the only reason you would hire a high profile lawyer like him is if you are guilty.

Why all the animosity toward the Goldmans?

Dr. Freecloud, I disagree. You really think our justice system works? I don't have much faith at all in it. We get a bs jury of our, heh, "peers" from people who really don't give a damn about the defendant. They usually have no real legal background and it is ridiculous. They're pissed about having to get pulled into jury duty and I'm thouroughly convinced that many juries just find people guilty to get out sooner.

You'd want a high profile lawyer regardless of if you're guilty or not. If you're guilty, you want a slick lawyer to get you off anyhow. If you're not, you want the lawyer to prove it.

The burden of proof is SUPPOSED to be on the prosecution, but that's bull****. Its always on the defense.

I don't like Goldman's dad because he's just a ****ing prick. I can't stand his gay smart ass when he's on TV fussing the way he does (or did rather, as he isn't on TV much now).

And everybody always neglects the fact that Goldman was knowingly committing adultery with OJ's wife. He knew this risk, and he paid the consequences. How many guys wouldn't want to kill a guy porking their girlfriend, let alone wife and mother of their children?

OJ is a peice of **** who beat that woman on a regular basis, so its not like he was mister innocent and his wife went and cheated on him and broke up their happy marriage. Hes the one who ruined it with his beatings. I dont know if Goldman and Nicole were doing it, but your probably right about that. Even if they were, OJ was the one who drove her away to the other man with his abuse, and even if she was to blame for breaking up a marriage, its no free pass to saw 2 people's heads off. Especially when one is the mother of your childred!! OJ is a human piece of crap.
