In a show of confidence, Manny Pacquiao in one of the Philippines' major dailies today said that he is staying at 130 and looks forward to battling MAB and Morales again in the superfeatherweight division. Uttering "I Shall Return !", the words of the famous Gen. Douglas MacArthur who said the words in World War II when the Americans faced a temporary setback from the Japanese invaders in the Philippines, he said he is charging all the lessons he learned from the Morales loss and vowed to come back a stronger fighter in his next outings against the current Mexican P4P powers.

Pac didn't train hard for any fight up to this point. I think that this loss will either bring his committment to a new level or destroy his confidence. We will have to wait and see what happens.

I still would pic Pac in a rematch againt Barrera.

Its time for Pac to show what he's made of inside.
MAB was able to return with a veangeance after his loss to Pac,
and now Erik has been able to do it after his loss to MAB.
This is where we separate the men from the boys.

Pac should first fight Marquez and avenge that loss first, even though the fight was a draw, i think he lost it....once he is through Marquez then he should think about MAB or morales.

JMM is another tough cookie because his style is difficult for Pac. This would be another good option for him though...

I'd like to see Pac-man come back strong, but only time will tell. I think if he learns a little bit more self-control he could be even more of a force to be reckoned with. The haters do offer one stable argument -- Pacman is quite a bit one-sided. Perhaps that's what he'll train to improve.

I'm looking forward to seeing him take on the three top featherweights, though.

manny also said in the Philippine daily that he is going to stay in the super featherweight division, meaning there will be no marquez rematch for the year... his first loss in quite a number of years came at 130, so i guess he wants to redeem himself that he can also win at the weight class...

like the Filipino that he is, expect manny to be so motivated in his next fight, whoever that maybe... he is a warrior and will certainly bounce back big time...

He needs to learn a few more tricks. Like Gatti learned to box better after Ward/Gatti I, Pacquiao needs to learn how to tie up and smother his opponents and learn the art of inside fighting. Skipping away from JMM and Morales' assault looks bad to the eyes of the judges. Lateral movement and counters are another set of arsenal Pac needs to learn.

He's gotten so good at KO'ing people with his one-two punch, he's never really had to adjust. Now after these two fights, he better. A tactical boxer is one who can adjust to different styles many times in one fight. Pac got the short end of some beautiful boxing by his last two opponents.

In the long run, Manny will be older and slower and his one-two punch will be just that:a slow one-two punch. However, with the fundimentals of boxing (inside fighting, counters, lateral movements, better footwork) he can still remain competitive. If not, without his speed he will fall by the way side.

even though i wanted morales to win, pac has nothing to be ashamed of. his stock as a fighter has not gone down at all in my eyes. i look forward to seeing him again, whoever he fights.

VS Barrera - Pac will beat MAB again in a rematch. He doesnt posses the height/reach advantage of Morales, nor the chin of Morales. He also doesnt have as beatiful boxing skills as Marquez. Styles makes fights and Barrera style just dont cut if for pacman.

VS Marquez - Watching Saturday's fight, that was definetly a different pacman from the one that fought Marquez. He managed to land alot of hits on Morales although Morales chin kept him in there. Marquez does not have Morales chin to save him and if Manny can land as much hits to marquez as he did Morales, I think he'll get it.

VS Morales - I think beating Morales is on a differentt level. He needs better boxing skills, needs to land the straight left lunging forward hard. With cleto reyes there's also better chance of a KO wether it be Morales or Pacman. I think the odds are in Morales favour but I wouldnt count the pacman out.
