View Full Version : dlh/judah at 147
`STEELHEAD 03-29-2005, 03:12 AM the way i see it a dehydrated out of shape oscar beats a 'new judah'at 147. delahoya will make it at 147 weighin then show up 10 or more lbs on fightnight. he'll pull the john ruiz and win.unless the new and improved zab is focused and still on the upward side of the learning curve and is able to make on the site adjustments as demonstrated in spinx2.
Zab Judah By Knock Out / if not DE LA HOYA BY UD OR KO
Judah by unanimous or maybe a KO. Oscar will benefit from the move back down but he is still older and on the downside, while you have Judah who is full of confidence and is better in every catagory at this stage of there careers

what about the size differents: longer reach, taller delahoya.and delahoya knows about the art of boxing.i would like to see a new and improved judah that has stopped flashing bling around and is focused beat a champion dlh.. but i dont see it at this time(3/29/05.
marvelous_TG 03-29-2005, 05:51 AM i know DLH is on the downside of his carreer but once he moves back at 147 i think he would do very good, because it is his last chance, if he moves back down and loses, his boxing carreer will be over. zab vs oscar should be a good fight while it's lasting, i defenitly don't see zab KOíng oscar, i think zab can only win by UD, and i don't think that's going to happen, i would pick oscar by Late TKO, if he comes back in shape and focused.
Kimmy 03-29-2005, 06:21 AM I think if De La Hoya can consistantly hit Judah with the left hook he`ll win by a stoppage. And it could be early. Judah is without chin and he showed in the Tsyzu fight by attacking the ref like a thug, he has little heart too! De La Hoya inside seven rounds!
kidrock 03-29-2005, 08:54 AM I would tend to agree with you Kimmy on this one, DLH should have some hunger for this fight and I think he would stop Judah for sure!!
Diricul 03-29-2005, 09:22 AM I think Oscar can’t win by a single punch. Zab can. Oscar usually wins by combos hitting the staying opponent like it was withVargas, Quortey and others. Oscar have never met fast and smart boxer. Gatti was untrained in their bout. Trinidad is a mirror image of Oscar. Shane was fast in the 1st bout with Oscar and won it. So I guess Judah will win the fight with TKO in the 9th.

I don`t think Zab is gonna one punch KO De La Hoya at welterweight.
Gatti was untrained in their bout.
Was he now, is this because he lost the fight? It didn`t matter what condition Gatti was in, he`d have been stopped!
Trinidad is a mirror image of Oscar.
Since when?? So Tito fights with the same style as oscar?
So I guess Judah will win the fight with TKO in the 9th.
You better tell Oscar so he avoids the fight then!
PRboxingfan 03-29-2005, 10:17 AM This is not the Oscar of old, it's an old Oscar. I've been saying this for a while and nobody is listening. I don't know if Judah can KO him, but he would beat him from pillar to post. I see Judah winning, clearly, even in Las Vegas. Oscar's new style, since joining with Mayweather, has changed him for the worse. He's not the same aggressive, active fighter he once was. Now he's more of a boxer and his caution will actually cost him against a quicker southpaw like Judah.
enadeus 03-29-2005, 10:22 AM Judah will win this one by KO. I agree that De la Hoya wont be the same after moving down to 147 from 160. Look at Roy Jones, the punching power decreases greately when you switch weight down. Judah is on fire right now, but at the same time I'm skeptical. Judah doesn't really seem like a serious guy. The way he fought Spinks in their first fight was embarassing. I'm still going with my Brooklyn boxing idle Judah to KO De la Hoya.
Kimmy 03-29-2005, 10:38 AM One victory over Cory Spinks and all Judah`s past history is forgotten! Watch Judah`s legs when Oscar hits him!
And Oscar isn`t coming down in weight, he is returning to his natural weight class! he`ll be more suited and perhaps a little quicker and punch harder. I think Judah`s only advange is speed. He could outpoint Oscar i believe but Oscar will likely find Judah`s glass chin somewhere around the 10th round!

if I were to pick who hits harder Mosley or Zab I would say mosley, DLH chin is great, the b-hop body shot I am not sure of,but if he goes to 147 he will be king again, for his age and going up to 160 showed us that he doesnt belong up there, 147 is missing a fighter like DLH and zab has yet faced someone with the boxing skills of DLH, KT ko him in 2 I say DLH can do it in at least 7 rounds, bigger better and stronger :boxing:
enadeus 03-29-2005, 11:18 AM Thinking it over I think De la Hoya will win. I'm still going to go with Judah though cause he is hometown hero. If they have this fight anywhere near New York I'd definetly pay $$ to see it live. Hopefully it happens, I don't see anything else that will produce big $$ for both of them at 147 unless Mayweather steps up and fights De la Hoya.
MlLkMan 03-29-2005, 11:40 AM Judah is quick, Judah by TKO
Kimmy 03-29-2005, 11:43 AM Don`t get me wrong. Oscar Vs Judah is a potential great fight and the result is not a foregone conclusion. Unfortunately Deuskie, you can forget New York. De La Hoya is the popular fighter out of these too and this fight, if made, would 95% sure would land in either Las Vegas or California. Just a mention. I think Shane Mosley Vs Judah would be a cracking fight also!
oldgringo 03-29-2005, 11:44 AM I'd gladly shell out 100 million if Judah KO's Oscar at Welter. Just typing that makes it look ludicrous. I'd go with Oscar, based on the fact that Spinks didn't have the power or chin to hurt Zab. DLH, for all of his diminished skills, DOES still have what it takes to KO Zab or take the close decision. It'd be extremely tough now that Judah has reinvented himself and now that DLH is old.
enadeus 03-29-2005, 12:41 PM Yea Cory Spinks is no Oscar De la Hoya. The question is how will De la Hoya fight this one? Will he run around in circles or stand toe to toe like he did against Bernard. It will really be hard for Judah to prepare for this fight. De la Hoya can bring anything to the table. De la Hoya seems to be a seasoned pro but he is still more unpredictable then ever even at this stage of his career.
I really think De La Hoya will smash on anyone at 147 even if he was 50, but i would be going for zab super.
michael_Q 03-29-2005, 12:58 PM dela hoya is losing his boxing prowess. i dunno wats happening with him. i go for a mush stable and fit judah against a weak and dehydrated oscar at fight nyt. but then again powerwise, osacr could bring a bigger punch from the middleweight. just a guess

One KO loss and everyone says he has a glass chin. Yeah, he did the chicken dance, so what? What about Trinidad's bobble-head action against Hopkins? Nobody claims he has a glass chin. All other KDs had been flash KDs when he was off balance. My point is, just because KT KO'd him doesn't mean he has a glass chin.
DLH is not as mobile anymore. Plus, Zab already showed he can beat a stylist boxer in Spinks (twice, since I had him winning the first one, too). Judah will be too quick for Oscar and Oscar's power, while still there, isn't going to change anything.
I see Zab winning easily.
i think oscar wins in a tough fight..... i dont see zab KO'ing oscar though.... if it ends in a KO, it'll probably be oscar winning...
