The James Bond car scenes are always my favorite.

But there is one car smash up movie scene that I think is very spectacular. It's the opening sequence of FINAL DESTINATION 2, where a log truck loses out of control in a freeway, loses its payload (logs) and started a massive and horrifying pile up of assorted kinds of vehicles. Really spectacular and the best I've seen so far!!! :)

What's your favorite movie car scenes?

The car chase in Matrix Reloaded. That was the only good bit of that movie (well, except when Monica Belucci was on screen). If the ENTIRE MOVIE was just that car chase......It would have been a better movie.

Another good one is the car chase scene in ENEMY OF THE STATE where Will Smith and Gene Hackman were being chased in the rail yard. That was awesome! :)

The car chase at the end of Bullitt is worth mentioning. Even more so because Steve McQueen did his own driving.

Steve McQueen did some driving in the car chase during Bullit. When he over shoots the corner and has to back up, that was McQueen. That wasn't the first time he did that, but it was the last. Carey Loftin who was in charge of the driving sequence got fed up with McQueen's lack of stunt driving ability and pulled the plug on him. Much of the heavy lifting was done by Loftin himself. Bill Hickman, who played the bad guy driving the Dodge Charger was in fact a real life stunt driver turned actor. He also appeared in The French Connection and The 7ups among other films.

Both the Charger and Mustang in Bullit had extensive suspension work done to them, including nascar springs and shocks. The Mustang had some engine work done to it because it couldn't keep up with the Charger. Even after the work, it still couldn't keep up.

The ones in Mad Max. The one during Terminator 3 I liked too.
