View Full Version : [HOLY S**T!] Muse
So I was intruduced to this band not too long ago at a U2 concert; went out today during lunch and just bought a random Muse CD that was put out circa 2006, think its called blackhole's or something like that (its in the car) and this ****en CD has to be the best god damn CD I've ever purchased.
I don't know how the **** coldplay is bigger than this band.
Anyway, Limeys, keep on supplying the world with the best music and the best CCTV drunken videos the net can offer!
VIVA MUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chunk. 10-28-2009, 09:05 PM Muse = Poor mans Radiohead.

Chunk. 10-29-2009, 01:57 PM Muse are ****!
Iamnotausername 10-29-2009, 04:27 PM Wrong Chunk Muse are brilliant. I've seen both Radiohead and Muse live and Muse absolutely **** on pretty much every other band live including Radiohead. There was a time when i didnt like Muse, that changed when i saw them live. i was absolutely gobsmacked. Made every other band i've seen seem tame by comparison.
The only thing thats similar between radiohead and muse is the vocals, theyre so different otherwise. I've never understood why people say they copy radiohead. You couldnt put two albums on by each band and confuse one with the other. maybe radiohead influenced them but who hasnt been influenced by them?
TRAVI$ 10-29-2009, 05:33 PM Thom Yorke is an accident waiting to happen.
Full_Nimbus 10-30-2009, 10:34 AM Muses live show > Just about any band you could name in history's live show. I'll admit to that.
Radioheads music > Muses music... By a long shot. I'll admit Origin of Symmetry and Absolution were both great, great albums, but Kid A alone ****'s all over Muses back catalog, and I wouldn't even say that's Radiohead's best album.
Oh and nah, Muse aren't a poor mans Radiohead, because the only similarity is in Yorke and Bellamy's voices.
Piggu 10-30-2009, 10:38 AM I didn't think their latest album was any good, to be honest. I really wanted to like them, but The Resistance was just really boring to me.

Yeah, that was the general consensus as far as I saw in reviews etc.

What? U2 and The Beatles sucked balls live.
Refused or At the Drive-In could have been way better, but they broke up after releasing their masterpieces. So **** them.

Na, it's true. Muse have based there whole sound on one of Radiohead's sounds. They're not that diverse IMO.
ZZZzzz....... 10-30-2009, 03:36 PM there recent record is trash in my opinion though they are 1 of my favorite 5 bands (the strokes, the arctic monkeys, radiohead and brmc being the others)

if you had thousands of screaming chicks yelling at the top of their lungs before you stepped on stage till you got off it, you'd suck too.
as far as u2, **** u2.i hate them.

I see we have very similar tastes in music. I have seen all your favourite bands live; I was slightly disappointed in Radiohead, the others were amazing, especially black rebel motorcycle club.
Arctic monkeys and Oasis are my favourite bands, with Radiohead, Cribs, Paddingtons and strokes close behind.

Full_Nimbus 10-30-2009, 05:24 PM Yeah, I can pretty much guess the average Brit rock fans top albums without even asking.
The Strokes - Is this It?
Radiohead - The Bends
Artic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am...
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Oasis - WTSMG
Muse - Absolution
etc etc etc..
It's kind of annoying, really, cos it's just the NME pumping these albums up your arse repeatedly. There's a little band called Frightened Rabbit from Scotland, they'd an album out last year called "The Midnight Organ Fight"... It tops all those albums (except The Bends).

I can't stand KOL, to be honest. It's not like they're complete **** or something. It's just that I don't find them to be any good, and the media over here is just forcing them on you 24 ****ing hours a day! They get so much hype it's unbelievable.

http://991.com/newGallery/Kings-Of-Leon-Only-By-The-Night-443644.jpg this album is crap! people have to stop judging them on "sex on fire" garbage! their first to albums were a breath of fresh air free from all that terrible distortion ****e.

Start with the song "The Modern Leper".
As for Kings of Leon, they're not ****, they just don't have an aesthetic that stands out from the other multitude of similar bands.

I don't know about the music haha it's the force-feeding that kills me. Which album do you suggest?

i'll say this much.
i've seen U2 about half dozen times live and with this latest tour it was just a bad idea to have MUSE open up.
a band, THIS good to open up; you'd a have to have been ****en jesus with satan singing backup to out-do MUSES's performance that night.
MUSE simply stole the god damned show as it didn't matter how much that little ****er bono ran all over the stage like a monkey with his platform shoes trying to get the crowd into it; we'd just been auditorily ****ed by MUSE and we all loved it and wanted more. it was unclimactic to see U2 afterwards.
after the concert we pretty much came to the conclusion that MUSE is amongst todays best band, definitely eclipsing U2.

you know, i can't stop neglecting the fact that KOL are simply stealing the sound that journey perfected 20 years ago.
they're not that good and vocally - the front man just lacks.

There's a little band called Frightened Rabbit from Scotland, they'd an album out last year called "The Midnight Organ Fight"... It tops all those albums (except The Bends).i actually got into rock music when i was 16 after i saw the smells like teen spirit video(i grew up in spanish harlem which is predominantly latino and black and thus all we heard growing up was salsa and hip hop) round early 2001.then i got into the white stripes cause of the fell in love with a girl video; got into the strokes because of the white stripes, go into oasis after hearing live forever on the radio around that time; got into radiohead cause of nirvana via the pixies, and got into muse cause they sounded like if radiohead pretended t be led zeppelin. got ito the arctic monkeys beucase i heard i bet that........cause that song is catchy as ****..i don't really get the slang considering I live in new york...but im still a fan......pretty visitors is a great tune.
and I've never bought an nme in my life.i heard of the hazrds of the 'zine.
