french press says it s scheduled 4TH of december , look like a warm up for sturm , he is not out of the tito fight.

they hope we can compare both performances against cherifi , i guess.

Sturm needs to get an impressive win over Cherifi to make a statement in the middleweight division.

Sturm is fundamentally sound, it's too bad he has no punching power.

This is a bad match,

I saw Cherifi fight a French title fight not so long back, and he lost to a novice. The guy is SHOT.

Sturm will pummel him until Cherifi quits on his stool.

Bad match.

Yes it's him...

...and he's WAY more shot than he was when he fought Tito.

I'll watch this one just to get a better look at sturm. Cherifi will be running all night, but I am interested in seeing if sturm is that good, or if oscar just sucks at middleweight.

he lost to franck mezaache , who s far from a novice , he owns world titles in french kickbixing , kickboxing and full contact.

still he shouldnt have , but he is not shot , he never had skills , just a BIG heart and a respectable power.

cherifi wont run , he doesnt know how to run . he ll try to slug and sturm will jab his face all night . i doubt sturm can KO him , he has a hell of a chin.

No, Cherifi is not a runner. He'll stand and fight, he just can't get off any more.

Yes, Mezaache, that was the guy. He was a light hitter but a speedy mover wasn't he? Cherifi just trundled around the ring all evening, and finally had him going in the last round before the bell went.

I'd say he was shot. This isn't the guy who outworked Keith Holmes any longer.

Cherifi will stand and trade. He will not be running like the majority of you say. He knows, as well as we do, that Sturm has no one-punch power. But Sturm's boxing ability will prevail and win him a 12UD

I think Cherifi's age and wear and tear will see him retire on his stool, as he's done recently against Howard Eastman and Brian Magee.

i totally agree with you sturm aint got the power to stop a fighter with cherifi's heart.

youre right . I never liked cheriffi ' s style , but i think his durability and fight to death attitude could make for an entertaining sturm shutout.

both eastman and magee can punch , and eastman is a strong dude.

maybe the corner or the referee will stop the fight mercyfully , but no way sturm KOes cheriffi clean.

How old is Cherifi? When he fought trinidad he looked at least in his mid thirties. I have only see him fight trinidad, is he any good cuz his performance against trinidad wasnt a good one.

yes the same guy...gonna be tough for cherifi, I'm afraid he's gonna retire after this one. recently he was really struggling to beat low caliber fighters, nothing to compare with sturm!

I must be mistaken, because I thought that was cherifi that ran for like the first 3 or 4 rounds against hopkins like 2-3 years ago?

thanks for the clarification...Yeah I remember that fight, he had tito not looking so good for a while in that fight...

Cherifi DOES have a good chin, and I agree that Sturm won't put him down or KO him. It just seems that Cherifi is used to bailing out on his stool when it gets too tough for him these days.

I think that the fight is only a tune-up bout. Klaus-Peter Kohl allready spreaks with Tito, De La Hoya and Hopkins for a big fight in 2005. Nothing is official, yet.

I'm going with Sturm in the Cherifi fight. Sturm will knock him out in round 6.

Is cherrifi with the long hair?

with all due respect to felix...what has he achieved, apart from a rugged performance against a money-friven mediocre de la hoya....

apart from that how many top 10 fighters has he fought.....he had a good performance against velazco to "win" the title.....but we all know what decisiions are like in germany, and i watched that fight, and he didn`t deserve that decision...........and it shows their style by putting him up against inferior opponents....

he has helped the division though as many top middleweight contenders can such as tito, sam soliman, etc, can now use him as a "credible" warm up opponent...
