View Full Version : video of my third fight.... Oriachim 10-27-2009, 09:20 PM oh and I understand I was a little sloppish with my footwork and hands as I got tired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLn1H6ZJ4Qk enjoy danj.lizotte 10-27-2009, 11:25 PM im no expert but, i think it was pretty good for your third fight. heres some things i noticed at a quick glance...no uppercuts thrown at all, you guys seem super slow, & in the last round you started walking around - work on footwork. i cant imagine what my first fight is gonna look like haha, but your friends would be awesome to have cheering me on. you got some vocal support there, that would hype me up. ricky hatton has like 30,000 of those kinds of fans, great kind to have. shogunn 10-28-2009, 06:57 AM Im not trying to diss or anything, but I think those were the slowest punches Ive ever seen. Youre strictly throwing punches with empty fists, try to put your body into it. P4PKING_2010 10-28-2009, 08:40 AM You can not be 23? What weight are you? You should be throwing some hooks and uppercuts that would have got him outta there. Good work tho your opponent wasnt up to much tho. Sam D. Menace 10-28-2009, 08:44 AM if your 23 , and you punch like that then....... Oriachim 10-28-2009, 10:36 AM omg i was nervous and tired as the fight got on, gave him two standing counts so dont see the big issue with power? also this was my 3rd fight not my 30th. and i box at feather weight and ty for all the comments Kiid Dynamite 10-28-2009, 10:45 AM U look 12 or 13, not 23 ntate88 10-28-2009, 10:48 AM you won the fight i dont disagree with you there well done, but i am just preparing for my first fight and no disrespect at all but im much sharper than that, infact watching that gave me no worries at all about my 1st fight. Good fight well done but if you want to keep on winning, keep training TheTruthIs 10-28-2009, 10:58 AM No snap. No speed. Pushing punches. Slappy hooks. From both of yas. Seriously, you need to reconsider working your training or something. Generally try not to be negative with a fight, but I think you need to hear this criticism. Start considering explosive tabata protocol workouts, in both running and bodywork. When on the bag, every punch you throw...you need to say in your head SNAP. Every time. Every single time. And hopefully doing these things will help you evolve these weak points which are fairly obvious to most. And then bring that to sparring. And to then matches. Kudos to you for getting in there and doing your best. But I assume you want to do even better, so please take this as a trying to help comment. And good luck. -drebin- 10-30-2009, 01:07 PM Did you win your first 2 fights? I'm no expert at all, but if I was to offer advice I'd say work on your speed and seriously sharpen up your punches. Keep at it though :boxing: Oriachim 10-30-2009, 02:12 PM well the reason my punches were slow is because im not very fit and I got real tired, that goes for my sharpness of my punches to and also i tryed to feint my punches but he parried by feints making it look like I punched real slow. I havent been boxing all that long even though i've had 3 fights. I been boxing like 6 months but had a like 5 month layoff. ontop of that I understand I aitn the quickest fighter... by a long shot but what I dont have in speed I am suprisingly good at cutting people off in the ring and I am pretty good at anticipating where and when to throw my punches, I am quite good at breaking peoples defence. TheTruthIs 10-30-2009, 02:34 PM Look dude, I know you feel you were unjustly criticized here, then say at ESB. (Yes, I belong to every forum, with different names) , and in part maybe a bit so. This place has a lot of trolls and alts. But also, the ESB community I feel was overly accomodating to you, with nothin but a buncha 'good job', well' done' etc etc. And that **** ain't helping you. Because it isn't going to motivate you to get better. So find a balance between the two, and if you seriously want to get better, you need to start working harder, and not using poor conditioning as an excuse. Cuz believe me, you are going to run into someone who takes it seriously, and get beat badly, and possibly hurt. I'm no troll, and I wish you welll. But you do have a lot to work on if you want to take boxing seriously and have some success at it. You need to be walking in the ring, ready to leave it all there, and in your own mind know, NO EXCUSES. So again, pay heed to these things, and good luck. Akucapri 10-30-2009, 02:39 PM Good you weren't facing someone of spirit otherwise you might of been in trouble. Well the truth is I didn't take the boxing seirously no. After a 5 or 6 month layoff I just couicently bumped into my coach who asked me if I would be interested in fighting in 4 weeks, so I said yeah why not. During those 4 weeks I did no running and I drank beer often. Its funny because my opponent was getting up in the morning to do those 3 mile runs and I didn't bother. I got asked if I wanted to go down a weight class but I said no... Is that the answer you wanted? Because its the sad truth :) I am a lazy bastard that is the truth. Don't get me wrong I turned up to all my lessons but I was not doing any extra training. I will be training hard in november though, sometimes getting only good criticism is bad as it makes you believe you did nothing wrong, sometimes you need trash talkers to make you think different.... Though the "you can't be 23, look how small you are" was kinda lame. them_apples 10-31-2009, 12:59 AM omg i was nervous and tired as the fight got on, gave him two standing counts so dont see the big issue with power? also this was my 3rd fight not my 30th. and i box at feather weight and ty for all the comments don't listen to the goons, they are probably fat and can't box and think they look good but have never watched themselves on tape. you look like you need to loosen up a bit but your nerves are probably still getting used to fighting in front a crowd. good job anyhow man. TheTruthIs 10-31-2009, 12:21 PM Them apples is right Oriachim. Try not to listen too much to the haters, but also the smoke blowers with general 'wtg!' and nothing else to offer. But yes, it is nice of them and encouragement is ok in proper doses. Filter the crap out that you can, and take the good criticism and put it to use. All the rest, dump it where belongs, in the 'FU retard pile' and move on. It's not worth taking to heart. So long as you love this sport and are willing to work hard at it, and willing to learn, it will not only make you a better boxer, but a better person. |
