Does Barrera have a slave wage multi fight deal for several fights with HBO like Floyd? If so that is the reason he is taking an easy fight. If you were offered the same amount of money to fight Pacquiao or Fana wouldn't you take the easy money at least once in a while? The contracts are the reason that HBO can make the huge fights. But it is also the reason we see Floyd whooping on Bruseles. Showtime has the right idea signing people for one fight at a time.

Don't get me wrong it is a combination of the three. HBO, the promoter (who'se only interest is how much money can be made off a fighter) and the boxer. While I won't trash Barrera for this fight, I don't understand it. I don't expect him to fight the other two caballeros or pacman every fight until he retires but Fana? And it is HBO's decision to make this a PPV. I hope their numbers are terrible. Worse than the Klit - Williams numbers. This is a fight to boycott on principle.

On to GBP. Are they starting to show signs that they are simply interested in making the green hand over fist. Absolutely. The whole Bernard as a partner negotiating terms for options over Taylor for his own fight is ridiculous. I'm sure there are more examples I just don't know enough about GBP yet. I am cautiously not hating them yet.

I think Main Events and ESPN is helping boxing a whole lot more by getting into the PPV game.

My response is not always the "puerto rican blah blah", only when it fits the situation, and I dont see you disputing that claim either. GBP will do more positive things for boxing than DKP and Top Rank combined....sweetie.

GBP isn't that bad, Boxeo de Oro has helping cities that dont usually have title fights become better fight towns.

ESPN is the savior of all sports.
