Martin (Top Knowledge) 03-25-2005, 04:00 PM I think I agree with your's more than the ring one... I would NEVER rate Mayweather ABOVE Tszyu.
Light-welterweight is Tszyu's neighbourhood, and if Mayweather wants to crash it... Fighting Gatti isn't the way to do it!
WINKY WRIGHT HAHAHA, not yet.
elveiel 03-25-2005, 04:03 PM I dont understand why Hopkins is number 1??
I have said it all along, these guys are the best P4P fighters in the world!!
1)Mayweather
2)Tszyu
3)Morales

Tszyu's been too inactive to be rated higher than Mayweather, other than that i'd probably agree.
Roy Jones Jr Beat hopkins when it was time to step up he should be ranked like 7th that fools a joke only known win was against Tito that is worth mentioning.
Ok list.
but #8 should be ahead of #7 IMO.
that, or #7 does not belong on the list.
nor does #10.
{BrownBomber} 03-25-2005, 04:11 PM Heres my p4p List
1.Bernard Hopkins
2.Kostya Tszyu
3.Erik Morales
4.Floyd Mayweather
5.Marco Antonio Barrera
6.Jose Luis Castillo
7.Manny Pacquiao
8.Juan Manuel Marquez
9.Winky Wright
10.Glen Johnson
Sounds about right.
!! Anorak 03-25-2005, 04:17 PM 1. BERNARD HOPKINS Silly running idiot. There's a difference between dancing and stumbling around like a OAP.
2. FLOYD MAYWEATHER I like this guy.
3. KOSTYA TSZYU Him too
4. WINKY WRIGHT Yeah, he's okay, but NUMBER FOUR?
5. MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA A solid pro
6. ERIK MORALES As above
9. JOSE LUIS CASTILLO This was the guy that pushed Mayweather close, right? I've never seen 7 and 8.
10. GLEN JOHNSON A solid workman, though unspectacular in terms of style.
Let's see Junior Witter get in there.
Heres my p4p List
1.Bernard Hopkins
2.Kostya Tszyu
3.Erik Morales
4.Floyd Mayweather
5.Marco Antonio Barrera
6.Jose Luis Castillo
7.Manny Pacquiao
8.Juan Manuel Marquez
9.Winky Wright
10.Glen Johnson
Sounds about right.
not you too with #1 bernard :\
I hope jermain taylor knocks his punk ass out.
Let's see Junior Witter get in there.
I think Witter is a good figter bro, but if you put him there.....You have to include Zab ahead of him. He did beat his ass.
!! Anorak 03-25-2005, 04:28 PM I never saw that one... Witter was underprepared, wasn't he? A rematch would be nice... took years for Witter to throw off the stigma.
I wasn't saying he should be NOW, incidentally... I mean he's a potential future top ten p4p. Give him a half dozen matches with top competition in his weight...
Martin (Top Knowledge) 03-25-2005, 04:30 PM I agree with you lot... Hopkins is only P4P best fighter in the World "inside America"... LOL!..
Eastman came to fight... And Hopkins ran for 12 rounds!... He's surposed to be a prize fighter, that sort of behaviour isn't P4P in my opinion. - Morales vs Barrera III - Morales vs Pacquiao ... Morales, NOW THERE'S A P4P PRIZE FIGHTER THAT COMES TO FIGHT!!!!

There is not reason to believe he should NOT be a potential future top 10 P4P fighter. He has the toolbox. That is for sure. He just needs bigger fights and more exposure.
It was Witter's 16th or 17th pro fight I think. He was simply outgunned by Zab's lateral movement and handspeed.
IwatchBoxing 03-25-2005, 04:41 PM 1. BERNARD HOPKINS- Great
2. FLOYD MAYWEATHER- Good
3. KOSTYA TSZYU- Sure...
4. WINKY WRIGHT- Whatever....
5. MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA- Kool
6. ERIK MORALES- Kool
7. MANNY PACQUIAO- No
8. JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ- No
9. JOSE LUIS CASTILLO- Hell No
10. GLEN JOHNSON- Hell No
Reason I never bought the Ring magazine, and never will.
If I had to formulate one, I would include:
Hopkins
Mayweather
Morales
Trinidad
Tszyu
M.A.B.
Judah
Castillo
Wright
Mosley
in that order.
Johnson, Corrales, JMM(as much as I like him). HELL NO. Pacman....hell fugging no. The 10 spot is occupied by Mosley for "certain P4P criteria". Not recent fights. I think he can beat a majority of the fighters on that list.
elveiel 03-25-2005, 05:03 PM Maybe Calzaghe should get a mention, he's been in with fighters on the same level as Hopkins opponents(not counting blown up DLH) recently and is a lot more exciting than Nard. IMO he'd beat Hopkins too.
I'll bet 50 millions points with someone if that fight ever happens.
Hopkins - great but really wasn't impressed with his performance against Eastman. I still rank him #1 on my list
Tszyu - should be ranked over Mayweather
Winky - hasn't impressed me, i think he just has Mosley's number.
Marquez- i dont think he should be on the list
NiGe2011 03-26-2005, 02:36 AM I am not all to high on Marquez right now (at least not THAT Marquez brother) the way I see it he has not really won a big fight in over a year, and his big claim to fame is a draw that would have been a loss if not for a scoring error... Maybe Zab in his place or even (gasp) Chico!
OliverNo1 03-26-2005, 02:59 AM I agree 100% - In addition how can Barrera be above Pac?
And why isnt Morales higher - I think it gets real difficult when fighters lose to another fighter, but are clearly the better fighter(in the big scheme of things). Thats why MAB/Morales/Pac/JMM are difficult to rank in a particular order - IMO Erik is the best of the four - but we know what the score was with the MAB trilogy so......
Also having seen the EM/Pac fight last night (uk) Manny did seem very one dimentional, and seemed like a small version of Matt Skelton!(In respect of losing his balance all the time, obviosuly Manny is a FAR better p4p fighter).
