View Full Version : lost my championship fight :( (short video clip)
Boxer1590 10-24-2009, 03:31 AM I thought I won, I felt I outboxed the kid. The only times he hit me was with stupid little short punches in clinches.
I felt terrible though, I was killing/starving myself to make weight. I felt I won, but I still could have done better. Iweighed in at 122 which was so weird to me. I used 3 scales before the weigh in and all were saying roughly 124.5 so I had to starve myself all day long, and all week, then I got there and weighed 122.
This is my first loss......I'm pretty upset to say the least
All I have is this short clip from the second round. It's a shame I don't have more to show you all the wrestling that was going on but the person holding my camera was terrible lol.
I'm in the red uniform & blue corner

TheTruthIs 10-24-2009, 04:37 AM Just a brick in the wall bro. Chalk it up to experience.
Cutting in ams is tough business. Just not enough time to do it properly with such a short window of rehydration. Find a good weight for yourself and stay there. You better bulking then cutting, and at the lighter weights, it is way easier to do with the differences not as much.
Yea, it sux losing. Anyone says different is a damn liar. But don't dwell, learn what u can from it and mosey on.
Good luck.
Rich Lοc 10-24-2009, 04:41 AM Home Town robbery. :nonono:
It's not a big deal, it's the amateurs. :lol1:

Yea it just sucks because I honestly feel I won that fight. The only time this kid was hitting me was on the inside he would like grab me with one hand and slap me with the other I can't believe they counted them as points.
And yea I'm def moving up in weight,

It's a big deal when your the one being robbed lol.
Everyone came up to me after the fight, people I don't even know, and told me I won the fight. People can tell me that non stop.......but it's an L on my record. Very tough pill to swallow.
RightCross94 10-24-2009, 05:52 AM Don't worry about it. Disappointing for you as it was a championship fight, but not worth beating yourself up over. As long as you fought well, you at least can take something away from it. But yeah, losses when you are fighting at a tournament or whatever are always disappointing. I remember in November last year I was fighting at National titles, lost by one point in the final. I fought pretty well but was still very disappointed. Still was only my 5th fight though, and the other kid had had a few more.
This year though that is in December, and I'm going to win it this year, I'm 1000000x better than last year.
FalconsRB 10-24-2009, 07:37 AM I been robbed a lot of times to first time i gave teh trophy back and told them to shove it up their ass my dad almos took me away from boxing now i just laugh at them and next time if fight the kid i beat him up badly and laugh at them. other guy look like a counter puncher next time hit him with two shots and step around i love those fights you look like a good fighter.

Yea man it's not a good feeling I don't blame you lol, and I hope one day I can look back at this and laugh. Yea man he was trying to counter me, but like every time he threw...I would throw with him and beat him to the punch. He kept tying me up with one arm and like slapping me with the other, that's all he really hit me with. I can't believe he got the decision :nonono:
and Thanks for the compliment man, I've seen your fights and you seem like a good fighter as well. I felt like garbage yesterday too from starving myself, I'm definitely moving up in weight, I can't believe how skinny I go.

It's a shame man, because I know how you must have felt. But hey, back to the gym and come back harder man.
Unbelievable 10-24-2009, 12:13 PM Don't sweat a loss in the amateurs. Plenty of ATG's have had losses in the amateurs. And if this was a robbery then it's not really a 'real' loss.

I'm sure you'll come back stronger, if it was a robbery you shouldn't count it as a loss, keep at it!:boxing:

Yea your right man. It's just the day after I'm upset you know lol. Plus it was my first loss (even though I feel robbed)

Yea thanks man, I hope so.
I myself don't count it as a loss, and my trainer said not to......but it's still that L on my record lol. It's pretty depressing. Everyone was coming up to me after the fight, shaking my hand and saying I won that fight which made me feel a little better....but still....that damn L lol.
Boxer1590 10-24-2009, 01:14 PM Which reminds me, after the decision was announced the ref raised my hand lol because he seemed sure I won, then he realized the said the other corner and put mine down and raised the other kids lol. Pics in my avatar.
Boxer1590 10-24-2009, 01:37 PM here is the only other video I got except for some from the last round but the camera is just facing the ground the whole time lol, it's just the intros lol

Just try not to worry about those type of things. Just focus on the fight, and what you need to do. Just assume the judges, ref, etc. will all do their job correctly and just focus on your job, fighting.
good luck!
