Any thoughts on Moore/Rhodes tonight?

I fancy Moore pretty strongly but could be interesting whilst it lasts.
Gonna be a good fight this ....i to think Moore will be to young/to fresh for Rhodes:boxing:

Poor Moore.

I saw him go life and death with Macklin for 12, but couldn't even last 10 with Rhodes. I don't think Rhodes will do well at world level.

Rhodes deserved it, for being able to adjust and for having the grit to first stand in the firing line and withstand some real punishment so he could impose himself later in the fight.

Rhodes took Moore's best, Moore couldn't take his (though, like Ryan, he showed some fantastic heart).

How the hell does the wrong person win a fight? what type of nonsense is that? Rhodes knew what he had to do and done it to perfection. Rhodes knew if he could take Moore's best punches for the first 6 rounds then Moore would be tired and his guard would drop. Once Rhodes knocked him down in the 7th, Moore knew he had to get Rhodes out quick as he can, once he could knock him out after he hit him with some massive shots his heart was broken and knew he couldn't win.

When he says ' wrong ' fighter won, I think he means that it was meant to be Moore's night on the way to a world title.

Such as Jennings beating Brook. Some would say the wrong man won because of Brook's potential.

But it's just a stupid way to describe a Boxing fight. Boxing doesn't work that way. Just cos a fighter has more potential than him doesn't mean he should win a fight. I wouldn't be suprised if Jennings beat Brook next week cos he is a quality domestic/europran fighter.

no no no. The blue print to beat Rhodes was set my Lockket. Ok Rhodes won, but he is the type of fighter to just get his ass beat highly likely by (Anthony Small, Bradley Pryce even Matthew Hall)

Where as Moore (ok he lost) is likely to re-evaluate himself and come back even stronger and will learn from his mistakes, a la David Haye. Rhodes wont learn and you will see this when he steps up. Anyway hes just a bum on the domestic scene who wont go far.

Rhodes is 32 years old, 33 in a months time. Has a loss to Lockett as well as 2 TKO losses against crap opposition. His best win is Moore, who isn't really above European/domestic level. Rhodes has tried to get to the top before and failed, what makes you think he can go far enough?

Where as Brook is an up and coming fighter who is showing a lot of potential. He's got a big test against Jennings in a week, but if he makes it past Jennings then he can certainly do better than what Rhodes has done. He's 10 years younger than Rhodes.

I'm not sure on Brook's' amateur pedigree, but I'm sure it's better than Rhodes'.

I wasn't making that point though was I? I was saying cos you have potential it doesn't mean you deserve to win a fight. but to answer you're question....

In a way yes and in a way no. I do think Brook is our best prospect at the minute to go on and win a world title, so we need him to put on a good show and beat Jennings to maybe get a title shot and win it. but losing to Jennings is nothing to be ashamed of imo.

In the UK at the minute we need more world champions, we have two world champion(not good enough) I do feel Kell is our next world champion but we shouldn't rush him just yet.

Brook - Still naive, leaves his chin in the air and gets caught too many times. Good counter puncher but still nowhere near completed.

Haye - Questionable chin and stamina. Relies on his power and does not have the ability to outbox.

Rhodes - Too old, too ****.

Froch - Has no defense whatsoever, his punch resistance is noticeably declining. He'll be finished before the tournament is over.

Khan - Great speed and stamina. Has no chin whatsoever, as soon as someone who has decent power tags him - he'll go down.
