There are now safer ways to get protein.

It is supposed to be dangerous to eat raw egg because of bacteria which can make you sick, but in reality I dont have any trouble and nearly every morning I have two egg whites, two whole eggs (extra large) which I beat, add milk, cornflakes or oats, sometimes peanut butter and drink it. Later in the day after a workout I might add an egg or two to my shake. All raw.
And this is Ecuador where food hygeine standards aint that impressive.

Do you lose much protein when its cooked? I doubt it would be much. I eat raw because it is more convenient. By the way the extra large eggs cost here 15cents, the smaller ones you can get much cheaper. Cheap source of protein.

there's only a 1 out of 30k chance you'll get Salmonella, which is something that can easily be detected on the outside of the egg with cracks and yes it has more protien and if you dont like those odds just get organic eggs

All food loses a significant amount of vitamin, mineral and protein content when it is cooked. Which is why some people eat a lot of raw foods, more specifically vegetables.

But as it's been said there are easier, and safer ways for protein consumption these days.

2 or 3 raw eggs blended with milk, taken about an hour before training, ensures a good workout.. It's pretty disgusting, and I often have to pinch my nose in order to drink it.. Great source of protien though, you can almost feel it kick in..

It is all a bit absurd really. Throwing the rocks is good for explosive power etc but he could just as easily have used a medicine ball. As for the piss drinking and quail egg eating :ugh:

lol no doubt, that's Rocky 5 material right there, throwing rocks and ****, too much old school imo, Marquez should get with an up to date personal trainer.

yeah at this point you can just buy whey protein.... just spend $30 and get 5 lbs of protein instead of subjecting yourself to that and possibly getting sick

I've been downing 5 raw eggs virtually every morning for the past 6 years or so. It's never made me sick. Yes, raw eggs retain more protein/enzymes. I've got a really fast metabolism so I'm a hard gainer and I really need to eat a lot in order to maintain/build muscle. It's tough fitting in several meals a day and a whole egg contains 6-7g of protein so 5 raw eggs as part of my first meal of the day is 30-35g of protein taken care of in just a few seconds. When they're cold, they go down quick and easy and don't really leave an after-taste or make you feel full. I like cooked eggs too, but they take longer to eat and prepare and if I were eating 5 boiled/scrambled eggs a day, I'd get sick of it really soon.

British hens are all vaccinated against salmonella, but I also ate raw eggs when I lived in the US and the Middle East and didn't experience any negative effects.

as far as im concerned the raw egg thing is just an unuseal tough myth, probably due to Rocky1.

http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/abstract/128/10/1716

all newer research confirm that eating eggs raw will halfen the biological value off the protein, meaning one should allways cook the eggs.

Thanks for that link, looking into it further looks like this is true. I am gonna start cooking my eggs!
