View Full Version : Ray "Hallelujah" Joval? borikua 03-24-2005, 07:59 PM Is this guy any good or it's just a bum for Vargas to KO.. jpboxer3 03-24-2005, 08:09 PM Joval has never been knocked out but I thinks it's due to happen. His previous opponent Sam Soliman was not known for his power, but was still able to floor Joval a few times early in their rematch.Joval was out on his feet many times and lost every single round against Soliman. That fight showed that Joval is clearly a washed up fighter. I expect Vargas to walk through Joval and KO him within 4rds. AintGottaClue 03-24-2005, 08:17 PM hopfully varg-ASS isnt as done or washed up as joval is, if he doesnt knock him out within 5 varg-ASS is gonna go nowhere fast QueenCity 03-24-2005, 10:00 PM Joval has never been knocked out but I thinks it's due to happen. His previous opponent Sam Soliman was not known for his power, but was still able to floor Joval a few times early in their rematch.Joval was out on his feet many times and lost every single round against Soliman. That fight showed that Joval is clearly a washed up fighter. FuryDragon 03-24-2005, 11:50 PM I'd imagine Joval is just a tune-up fight. I understand that Trinidad came back after a long layover to fight a tough opponent, but the difference remains that Vargas went through rehab for a serious and legitimate back injury prior to returning. That sort of thing changes a lot. I think he's making a smart decision by coming back to an easy fight before jumping into the ocean and seeing if he can swim with the big fish. There's no rush, he's still young. abdiel2k3 03-24-2005, 11:54 PM Fernando Carcas is done he may beat this guy but so what he may knock out this guy but so what ive yet to hear in his interviews him say that his back is 100percent i think hes saven it for his fall back excuse when he loses plus he just sux anyways FuryDragon 03-25-2005, 12:28 AM Fernando Carcas is done he may beat this guy but so what he may knock out this guy but so what ive yet to hear in his interviews him say that his back is 100percent i think hes saven it for his fall back excuse when he loses plus he just sux anyways I absolutely despise it when people, in a pure act of ignorance, say that a fighter sucks despite his accomplishments. Fernando Vargas may have lost to Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya, but since when does this make you suck? Trinidad and DLH are two of the most respected athletes in the sport right now. Vargas is a talented fighter with good reflexes, powerful punches, and indomitable heart. Give him some credit for god sakes. bigdlb12 03-25-2005, 12:45 AM I absolutely despise it when people, in a pure act of ignorance, say that a fighter sucks despite his accomplishments. I'm looking forward to seeing how he performs after his come back. Though it's impossible not to see that the odds are against any athlete who comes out of retirement. abdiel2k3 03-25-2005, 01:09 AM I absolutely despise it when people, in a pure act of ignorance, say that a fighter sucks despite his accomplishments. I know that he blew up when he was not training, and I hope: he does not look like he has been on the couch for 2 years. That would be a big problem for him against a slick fighter in Joval. However Joval being featherfisted. whats with the new joppy fixation RwK 03-25-2005, 01:14 AM whats with the new joppy fixation Bored, and tired of the usual run of the mill middleweights. For once, I would like to give the dark horse some credit for being a 3 time world champ, in light of putting up with his excuses. I still think he has a chance at cleaning up the Junior middle division, and giving some europeans hell. Plus, I actually like the guy. Wierd huh? Maybe it is because I watched his fight with Jonothan Reid, and Howard Eastman and was impressed like never before with his skill as a boxer. borikua 03-25-2005, 01:20 AM Nice avatar Run...but Joppy sucks.. borikua 03-25-2005, 01:33 AM Don't get my wrong bro, Joppy went toe to toe against Trinidad and fought like a man, but I lost all respect for him when he fought Taylor...he acted like a clown in that fight dino 03-25-2005, 01:43 AM i think vargas time has ran out...bad back..hes moved up and weight and cant take a punch so he may win this fight..but the next fight hell lose abdiel2k3 03-25-2005, 02:36 PM That was thouroughly unimpressive, and I think out of complete frustration from loosing the early rounds. I was not happy with that, but I forgave him shortly after. He just needs another chance against either: Calzaghe, Allen, Sturm, or Lacy. Last fight or not, the last hoorah for the former 3time champ. :)(though more than likely seriously outgunned by them all except allen). ya right allen beating allen wound tprove **** i dont think he beats calzaghe hes heaveir plus he seems to be a hard hitter from a hear he was completely demotivated once taylor hit him imagine how hed run once he felt lacys power sturm i think would be a good fight but for sturm |
