jus thinking about that now:
wba-ruiz Vs rahman for interim belt. never fought champ jones
wbc-sanders vs klitschko after champ lewis retires
ibf-byrd Vs holyfield for interim belt after ll ditches it
wbo-brewster Vs wlad for title that sanders had dumped.

does this mean the mythical "linear championship" has been broken forever!!!

The linear champ can be decided by the public, when two giants meet. I can see this as being a good sign. Half of the belts were thrown away as garbage......Rockin'

Belts don't mean much to fans OR the fighters anymore. Quick - name the light heavyweight champ...no, it's not one of the top 2 (or 3 if Roy's still got it) guys in the division. Floyd Mayweather's #2 p4p and doesn't have a belt. In some divisions, the guy holding the WBO belt is the recognized champ; in some divisions it's the WBC or IBF (the WBA and their "super" champ thing makes the belt thing even more annoying)

Some of the best fights out there are for no belt or belts I'd never knew existed (like the Trinidad/Mayorga fight or Pacquiao/Morales or Tarver/Johnson where it's for some belt they probably invented after the fight was announced...)

No it doesn't mean that the linear championship has been broken forever. All someone has to do is unify the titles.

Wow...I completely missed your name as well. "Before anchor arms I was a wimp. Now I'm a jerk and everybody loves me."
