I didn't think he was in any danger of being KO'd. When Pacquiao hit him with a good left on the ropes and then backed off Morales just looked at him and signaled to Pac to come back and then sent Pacquiao back with a righthand. The bodyshot did get him a little but I think when the HBO crew was saying Morales was doubling over he was just block the other body shots Pacquiao was trying to land.

When Pac hurt Morales to the body and the latter folded, I just wanna know what woudl have happened if Manny through a power uppercut to the face when Morales' head was down.

Too bad Manilla Ice wasn't an uppercut.

And props to morales for not pulliing a De la Hoya and taking his body shot like a man.

u dont think the fact that morales took a shot from naturally smaller guy
and DLH from a naturally bigger guy had anything to do with it?

a PAC FAN here. I thought after the first that it could have happened...if he followed up to the MANY combinations he had in the early rounds. But after he just kept on back peddling after the combinations, I was just bewildered why in the world he would do that. You should never give your opponent to regain balance. Even his power did not come full circle at 130lbs he had oppurtunities to dish out more hurt and at least win the round.

None of this thread matters, Morales NEVER gets KO'd, why even bring it up???

Why don't we argue about how heavy-fisted Paulie Ayala was, or how intelligent Tyson is, or how sober Larry Merchant is.....

I actually think it was the left uppercut to the body (Manila Ice). and if it was, it DID stop Morales cold....for only about 10 seconds lol.

And Morales wasn't getting paid 30 million in that fight.

He wasn't following up cuz the combos weren't landing in the first place.

while the body shot did hurt morales i don't think it really hurt him that much. if it did he would have worn out alot quicker. "manila ice" was more like vanilla ice.....sounded good at first but then after a few listens (shots), it didn't have that good effect anymore. morales kept manny at the perfect distance. thats why manny couldn't seem to do anything. and morales also is very good at attacking while back-peddaling. making manny pay for missing. then after manny stopped coming forward erik was very quick at then coming forward with his own attack. manny was like "what the hell is going on? is this guy for real? ouch that hurt! why isn't he down yet? oh wait he has never been ko'd. hmm. where the hell did that jab come from? lets try again (attacking) man i only landed 3 out of 15 shots and got hit 5 times. that didn't work. damn these mexicans. damn them all to hell!"

not only that but morales was getting good shots in too. plus as soon as manny stopped erik started. manny was having a hard time getting through eriks d. even though it looked like manny was hitting erik, alot of times they never really landed.

I remember in one of the rounds Pac forced Morales into the corner and started throwing punches and all that Morales did was turn just slightly making Pac miss with every punch he threw.

Not really. He finished the round up strong by backing Pacquiao into a corner and hitting him around a bit. I knew he would be alright. Not to mention that i doubted he was really hurt, i mean Barrera has hit him probably about 30 rounds straight to the body.

Not really. This fight played-out exactly as I had thought, except that I figured one guy, or both, might go down in the first.

I've always believed Morales would either be hittin' the deck or be very "surprised" by Pac early in this fight, but then would adjust and start connecting and out-boxing the Manny Man.

What I did noticed in teh times he got in, was Erik was crouched down, chin hidden and Manny attacks but ends up way too close to Erik do anything. He looked confused and didn't know where to hit. Then Erik would pop him with the right hand.

No kiddin man. When have seen Morales crouch like that before, over and over again? I thought Pac was gonna' catch the back of Morales' melon.

I thought he was going to get ko'd too which would have been a rip off PPV.
