Benncollinsaad 10-16-2009, 07:15 AM First time I agree with him,lol!:lol1: I think MMA or wrestling is so disgusting to watch, these guys in their underwear strutting around and many of them aren't even that goodlooking!
And btw, I know I sound like a total goof, but whats the difference between MMA and UFC??
GoldenBoy23 10-16-2009, 08:31 AM LMAO, poor B-Hop. Some of these guys really are having a hard time with MMAs popularity. And to make a claim about the masks and chains thing when u wear a gimp mask to the ring?lol c'mon you dumb ****, you can do better than that. It's actually funny how sad he is haha

MMA is a sport. The UFC is a brand.

Thanks for clearing that up.;)

i agree with the mask thing lol. but the other stuff. come on bro, fan or not he aint lying is he?
those "trunks" fools like gsp and evans be wearing just aint right. i mean they can wear shorts if they want, why the hell they wanna put on those things? its not about mmas popularity, its that its being compared to boxing like BHop touched on. i get upset when someone who "fights" on his back spreading his legs like a female compares himself to what i do in a boxing ring. imagine hopkins, how far hes gon. how much hes gon thru to call himself a fighter and hes being compared to guys who take turns putting nuts in their face. its insulting and bernard has a right to react.

Oh yeh i dont think he should be compared to MMA fighters. Being compared to that ignorant dumbass Hopkins is an insult to anyone lol

personally, the tight shorts thing is wierd. i wouldnt wear them if i was in the cage. however, there is a reason for everything. i would imagine they wear them for less resistance when kicking and for moving around easier. anyway there is a reason, and its not cause they are gay or wana show off their package. you could say the same **** about football players pants, ice skaters, speed skiing, swimmers and the list goes on.
as for the rest of your post, i have one word about you, your boy bernard, and the rest of the haters. INSECURITY
Oasis_Lad 10-16-2009, 06:10 PM The only thing that was verbally destroyed was Hopkins's mouth in prison.
Spambo boy 10-16-2009, 06:12 PM He should know about gay ****!!!!
Piggu 10-16-2009, 06:13 PM He should know about gay ****!!!!
Wow, good one. I bet his feelings are really hurt.
Mr. President 10-16-2009, 06:50 PM The only thing that was verbally destroyed was Hopkins's mouth in prison.
Watch your mouth when you speak about a boxing legend. Hopkins is a more accomplished athlete then anyone in your "sport" will ever be and he has a right to voice his opinion on boxings wannabe kid brother known as MMA.
Oasis_Lad 10-16-2009, 06:54 PM Watch your mouth when you speak about a boxing legend. Hopkins is a more accomplished athlete then anyone in your "sport" will ever be and he has a right to voice his opinion on boxings wannabe kid brother known as MMA.
Oh dear. The typical generic response.
vinnie7731 10-16-2009, 07:14 PM Watch your mouth when you speak about a boxing legend. Hopkins is a more accomplished athlete then anyone in your "sport" will ever be and he has a right to voice his opinion on boxings wannabe kid brother known as MMA.
wow, your back and forth. make up your mind already. now mma is a sport, glad to see you came to your senses. in quotes or not.
what is this guy your son? "watch your mouth" thats something you say to your teenage son for using foul language...... but it is also something you say to someones face not on a internet forum.
!MMATHAI 10-16-2009, 07:41 PM Haha, I love stuff like this.
Insecurity is exactly why BH or anyone for that matter talks **** on MMA.
GoldenBoy23 10-16-2009, 08:08 PM The more i think about it the worse it gets. How dare Hopkins think anyone in MMA is being compared to him lol. That ignorant fool needs to grow up and come to terms with MMAs rise and stop taking childish shots at it like the less intelligent boxing fans on here. If a real legend like DLH or RJJ can do it surely his tiny mind can somehow overcome the jealousy and embrace the sport.
*Not saying boxing fans are less intelligent, saying the ones who bash mma are

It's about as close to being a sport as the WWE and i talk down to people who have a low intelligence level. Something that most MMA fans seem to have in common.
forktom 10-16-2009, 08:25 PM haha i wonder whos gonna say something next.

calling him insecure is a wimpy ass way to make him stop bashing mmgay. it's like the F@gots that call you gay for hating on g@ys. how the hell does that work
Spartacus Sully 10-17-2009, 03:28 AM How dare Hopkins think anyone in MMA is being compared to him lol.
i think the response was because some one asked him what he thought about mma and how it campared to boxing......sooo for all you idiots out there that think hes trying to compare himself to mma or boxing to mma hes not. hes VOICING HIS OPINION AND COMPARING MMA TO GAY **** you F***ING overly violent and defensive idiots.
i mean if wareing panties in a match is soooo advantageous then why dont they start greasing each other down with oil before the matches?
Rocky... 10-17-2009, 08:47 AM Bernard hopkins, that scummy gang banging idiot whos the ex con from the hood :lol1: since when did people listen to him????? ffs he probaly cant read or write
hes mouthing of about mma being gay etc, would love to see that scumbag in a cage fighting a top mma fighter :boxing:
Spartacus Sully 10-17-2009, 08:53 AM hes mouthing of about mma being gay etc, would love to see that scumbag in a cage fighting a top mma fighter :boxing:
So you can whack off to it?
Rocky... 10-17-2009, 08:58 AM So you can whack off to it?
So i can laugh at him getting his ass handed to him ffs hes an old man, you seen any his boxing fights??? all he does is hold them and use ilegal moves, he bores the **** out of boxing fans with his fights :lol1:
He would get raped in the cage, but hey hes probaly use to that after all he was banged up in prison, that was a probaly a daily thing for him :lol1:
Spartacus Sully 10-17-2009, 09:11 AM He would get raped in the cage
so thats what does it for ya.

i mean if wareing panties in a match is soooo advantageous then why dont they start greasing each other down with oil before the matches?
You call mma fans defensive? Yet your the one going crazy over a few jokes lol. You, and Hopkins for that matter, are pathetic. He's defensive of boxing coz he's worried. It's understandable. No need to make sad little gay jokes. All it does is make us laugh at the pathetic f*ck
vinnie7731 10-17-2009, 11:28 AM i think the response was because some one asked him what he thought about mma and how it campared to boxing......sooo for all you idiots out there that think hes trying to compare himself to mma or boxing to mma hes not. hes VOICING HIS OPINION AND COMPARING MMA TO GAY **** you F***ING overly violent and defensive idiots.

cause if you new anything about sports (boxing included), you would know that "greasing" is illegal and is controlled and regulated by the state athletic commissions.
Spartacus Sully 10-17-2009, 12:27 PM cause if you new anything about sports (boxing included), you would know that "greasing" is illegal and is controlled and regulated by the state athletic commissions.
so your saying that if it was legal they would actually be doing it?

what are you a mind reader?
just asking, is bj penn and the other guys from mma who takes shots at boxing worried and pathetic too?
saying hopkins is pathetic is just dumb, everyone in this forum would kill to have those titles on our walls and that money in out bank accounts. but yeah hes pathetic cuz he doesnt like mma, sure..
GroundSt.Pound 10-17-2009, 01:01 PM Something must have happened to Bernard in prison, maybe he was gang raped or something. He would know what a gay ****o is wouldn't he.
According to him, pro football must be a gay ****o too. I mean the players are not quite in their short, but they are in tights and there are plenty of men piling on top of each other with nuts in their faces.
B-Hop has lost a one too many brain cells when Roy beat a tattoo against his dome.
Albeit, this is not unexpected from Hopkins, anybody who knows him knows he's a classless individual.

i dont think its a matter of wearing tight pants but instead wearing tight underwear and only wearing tight under wear and a cup. that mixed with wrestling around on the ground well umm errr ummm well i guess everybody has their own opinions
i mean in bjj comps do they all wear those pants or is it all in their gi's? in high school and college wrestling they dont wear that do they i thought they had like knee high short one piece things thats whole body
GoldenBoy23 10-17-2009, 01:41 PM what are you a mind reader?

What would MMA guys be worried about? MMA is getting bigger and bigger by the day lol...nice try though
vinnie7731 10-17-2009, 03:20 PM so your saying that if it was legal they would actually be doing it?
yes, think about it......your greased up in gay bjj postions rolling around on a mat with your legs wrapped around your opponent. being slippery and with your opponent would make it that much more gay. so yes, these guys that participate in mma would in fact grease up before a match. but the athletic commissions dont want to give the viewers the wrong impression even though, they know mma is gay.
get a grip
Elemental Fist 10-17-2009, 03:23 PM I would hardly call that verbally destroying anything and what's up with boxing fanboys obession with comparing MMA to gay ****? You guys need to seek mental help.
vinnie7731 10-17-2009, 03:23 PM i dont think its a matter of wearing tight pants but instead wearing tight underwear and only wearing tight under wear and a cup. that mixed with wrestling around on the ground well umm errr ummm well i guess everybody has their own opinions

yeah they are wearing tight underwear. and i even heard some of them dont wear cups cause they dont want to create any additional gaps between their opponent, if ya know what i mean.
Elemental Fist 10-17-2009, 03:29 PM What kind of similarity both Boxing loyalists and MMA loyalists share? Both are obnoxious and closedminded fanboys who love to discredit eachother in the most retarded way possible or use juvinile insults that not even 14 year olds would find funny.
:bottle: on that fanboys:boxing:
Princemanspopa 10-17-2009, 03:44 PM What would MMA guys be worried about? MMA is getting bigger and bigger by the day lol...nice try though
because mmGAY will never have the respect and credibility that boxing has, that's why those within the mmGAY have continually taken shots at boxing for so many years, and the moment somebody from boxing takes a shot back, they start pissing blood out of their vagina.
Point is,mixed martial art's isn't a sport and it's competitors are a complete and utter joke, glass jawed grapplers who couldn't throw a punch to save their lie.
MMGay is not getting bigger and bigger, despite what Dana White tells you.The ufc has done very well and any other mmGAY promotion that has tried the same, has failed miserably, because people don't give a **** about the sport(I use that loosely) itself.
The ufc also has to lie aout how many ppv buyrates that they really got.

I thought they were rednecks?
At least fans of MMA are now more educated unlike the "thugs" and wanna be gang-bangers that make up a large percentage of the boxing fanbase.
Haha.
See what I did there.
You guys really are pathetic. You have no legitimate reason to be griping about MMA.
If the fans piss you off too bad. How about since you guys are so "manly" challenge them to a fight or something.
No you won't probably, because you are too much of a coward to confront a real life human being so you do it with anonymity, on the internet behind an avatar and a screen name.

blah blah same old same old
I talk as much smack about mma in real life as i do on the internet, you better believe it.
The meathead stereotype for MMA is true and you know it. this is a boxing forum so I say get rid of this piece of **** MMGAY forum.
BTW, there are MMA fighters that go to my gym. They get beat up so bad my coach wont even let them in the ring with certain amateurs.
GroundSt.Pound 10-17-2009, 09:39 PM blah blah same old same old
I should be saying the same to you. You guys are the ones that generate these types of threads and take random unnecessary shots. LOL Grow Up.
I talk as much smack about mma in real life as i do on the internet, you better believe it.
LOL. Okay, tough-guy.
The meathead stereotype for MMA is true and you know it.
I may be missing something here, but every MMA fan I've come across, IRL, is pretty down to earth. But when you have a few drinks, everybody turns into a tool.
this is a boxing forum so I say get rid of this piece of **** MMGAY forum.
Geesh. You have sand in your vagina or something. There are plenty and I mean plenty of sports forum on the internet that host sections for other sports. One that I moderate that is an MMA based forum actually has a very busy boxing section. To which nobody comes in to makes threads saying boxing is dead, sucks, is boring etc.
The way you guys act on here gives me clues to what kind of people you are and that you are clearly just mad and for no reason.
BTW, there are MMA fighters that go to my gym. They get beat up so bad my coach wont even let them in the ring with certain amateurs.
Oh and I'm sure they cower before you. Haha.
Usually MMA fighters go to boxing gyms to improve their hands. Because we all know a pro boxer vs. and MMA fighter in a boxing bout a boxer wins right? Why are you hating on them?
Seriously you are an idiot, and in straight up denial and hating for no reason.
Mr. President 10-18-2009, 03:52 AM yea wtf are people saying about MMa getting bigger, MMa has peaked and it's not getting any bigger. the only crowd they have is the drunken white college students.
Not to mention it's a well known fact that Dana White is a pathological liar and him and the UFC lie about their buy rates. A testimant to how desperate they are to compete with boxing.

why are you down talking me? i'm actually quite a good amateur boxer. This is the internet and i'm sure we'd actually get along in real life. You might realize when I burn MMA i'm doing it in a half joking way. On the internet it just seems like a life and death battle.
i'll even add you on facebook ffs
I will admit I don't like MMa, but if all MMA fans were like you, we wouldn't have a problem. You truly do like both sports, but many of you guys don't and say **** like boxing gloves are pillows (bs, very similar in padding to an MMA glove) or that boxing is boring meanwhile everytime I watch an MMA fight it's just pure wrestling, On top of that it seems like all MMA heads are obsessed with knockouts and could care less about skill.
It's annoying hearing people say my favorite sport is dieing when we repeatedly sell more fights (with one fighter, not 10 stars on one card).
I'm not lieing when I used to say I was an MMA fan.
I've been boxing for a while but was busy too bother fighting, but i'm probably fighting this December.

because that's against the rules
go read up about the greasegate GSP vs Penn fight that happened earlier this year
GoldenBoy23 10-18-2009, 11:27 AM This mmgay thing is actually hilarious. It shows how stupid that idiot is. I post on a few other forums and this is the only one where fans from another sport go into a diff forum section and bash the sport. And it really shows the lack of intelligence of some of these boxing fans. Nobody in MMA forums go into the boxing section and bash it saying its dying or whatever because their respectful. The only reason i ever insult boxing or anything on here is to defend my favourite sport, and im sure its the same with some of you boxing fans. But guys like that mmgay idiot up there really have no clue what they're talking about and cant win sensible arguments so they call the sport gay and make other childish jokes.
And as for Hopkins, he is a great boxer and a legend but the guy is an idiot and a thug. I respect him as an athlete but not as a person
snakey112 10-18-2009, 11:34 AM insecure boxing fanboys who can't come to terms with the rise of MMA and either fear it or are bitter about it.

No.they will start such threads in their own crappy forums to lure in other newbs to back them up,don't come on here and make such a claim because it is false and stupid. The MMGAY community has been taking shots at boxing for a long time and once somebody bit back, they began to cry.

Your typical MMGAY fan will criticise boxing for being boring(they know nothing about boxing) and yet will cry when somebody else will mock their precious sport.
You can understand why somebody would laugh while watching an MMGAY fight don't you? handbag swinging glass jawed grapplers rolling around on the floor in their undies isn't very respectable.

In truth it is MMGAY fanboys who are insecure.insecure that their precious sport will never be taken seriously as a legitimate sport in the mainstream sports.

lol you are wrong, if MMA was still a tiny completely underground sport that no one knew about then boxing fanboys wouldn't know or give a **** about it anyway, but the fact that we get about 10 threads a week on this forum bashing MMA plus countless fanboys going out of their way coming into this section (i.e. mr president) every day to take every oppertunity possible to bash MMA is clear evidence that these boxing fanboys are scared and bitter. If they weren't and MMA was completely underground then they wouldn't give a **** about it and this wouldn't exist. and don't try to deny it because you know it's true. the fact that the UFC, starting in 1993 and only really getting into the mainstream in 2005 has already become as successful as it has, leaves a sour taste in many a boxing fanboy's mouth.

Typical fans? I dont give a **** about typical fans, im talking about here. I dont "cry" when someone insults mma, i laugh at how sad and desperate they must be to go so low. And i'm not insecure at all. I can laugh at a thug like Bhop or an idiot like you when you take cheap shots. It makes no difference to me what you say, coz at the end of the day MMA keeps getting bigger and bigger. But it's a good thing for Boxing too and you should appreciate that. It forces boxing to put on better cards and not just have one big fight. And hopefully to actually have the to guys fight eachother some day.
But anyway you didnt actually give any decent arguments but i thought i'd respond anyway coz im bored. Can't believe your still saying mmgay, it actually show your level of immaturity and lack of intelligence. And in a way, discredits any opinion you give lol

For every meathead MMA fan, theres one on boxings side too. Don't really see that as a valid point. There are plenty of guys with that level, if not better, of athleticism and work ethic in mma. Guys like GSP work just as hard as the top guys in any sport

mma is the fastest growing sport on the planet, growing massively in the UK, all over europe, already big in the USA, they plan to have ppv's in mexico and all over south america.

more so refering to that when insulted a typical fan will, instead of making valid points to argue against the insult, attack the character of the person making the insult. you know like: their just afraid, they need to face their fears, their just a thug, how much of an idiot can you be, i laugh at how sad and desperate they must be to go so low, hes clearly lost his mind, he must have been raped one to many times in prison....you know.

I understand your reasoning, however two closed-minded individuals don't make a right. Idiots on both sides of the aisle when it comes to Boxing vs. MMA (which it shouldn't be, they can both co-exist and share many fans).
And by your last comment about athleticism you obviously have never seen George St. Pierre fight or many other top level MMA fighters. And the work ethic in both sports is the same for the top fighters. They both work equally hard at their profession, this is a fact.

Floyd mayweathers training
Jogging
“How far I run each day varies,” says Mayweather. “And sometimes if I’ve sparred more rounds than usual on one particular day, won’t run at all. But when do hit the road, I’ll do anything between five and eight-and-a-half miles going fast."
Sit-up punches
This is where his trainer holds his legs and then he stands up out of a sit-up position, throws two uppercuts then returns back down. Go for as many as possible. Inevitably give up after three.
Skipping
A lung-hurting exercise that also helps a fighter's coordination as he rhythmically works out where his feet land as the rope swings at high speed. Mayweather will sometimes skip up to 20 minutes straight, often as a warming-up exercise.
Neck Harness
An exercise that's unique to boxing. The fighter lies on the canvas of a ring with his head pointing over it and a neck harness attacked round his head. This has chains linking it to a weight - putting a strain on his neck muscles. Mayweather will just move his head up and down so that his neck doesn't snap back on a fight night.
2/ Technique
Sparring
"I spar between eight and ten rounds every day to work on my technique and certain punches I'm going to use to expose the boxer I'm fighting. I'm working on my uppercut because I've noticed Marquesz has been dropped a few times with that punch."
Shadowboxing
Footwork - that is the elegance with which a fighter moves round the ring to position himslef to throw punches - is a great fighter's main weapon. Mayweather's footwork is a second to none. And shadowboxing is where he hones it.
Pads
The speed at which Mayweather throws punches while his trainer holds the padded mitts is remarkable, often ducking under his trainer's hands. "I'll do 30 minutes of padwork straight," says Mayweather, "with no break at all."
Punch bags
"I heard straight for the heaviest bag in my gym that really pushes my body as I hit it and then don't stop for another 20 minutes. I'm looking to not only go into that fight looking to win, I also want to be viewed by others as the best at my sport."
just saying the guy following randys routine has a good hour ahead of him at the gym where as the guy following floyds routine has a good 3 years of training to get to that point plus a good 3-5 hours of training ahead of him ever day.
Unfortuantely most of the other mMA guys routines consist of something like this:
Conditioning: if you dotn have it you wont last 3 rounds.
Power: this is also important
diet: if your not eating right you wont get stronger
training: i do alot of this also
so if you can find something better that proves these guys exercise and work harder then boxers that would be cool.
Personally i think mma guys dont post their routine because after writing it down they realize that its something that can be achieved with very little hard work and little previous training to get to that point where as boxers know that its going to take you many years to catch up to their routine....if you even can.
GoldenBoy23 10-20-2009, 11:21 AM I can't wait to see how well Elite XC does on CBS.............:crucified

Yes i have, i'm french Canadian myself you think i haven't heard about GSP?
no he is not anywhere near the level of Pacquiao or FMJ. It's a hell of a lot easier to climb the ranks of MMA than it is in boxing.
GSP is a strong guy, he lifts a lot of weights, but his stamina is dip **** compared to a guy like Pacquiao.

Grappling and Wrestling takes another level of conditioning. I'd bet any amount of money in the world that GSP could outwork Pacquiao in terms of conditioning.
Yet another moniker that lifting weights= poor cardio, slow and bulky. Dumbest **** ever.
Look at NFL players. They all lift weights

GSP could never do 45 rounds in one day after running 13km, (3 of those up hill)
that is rediculous.
Yes weight do slow you down, it's only MMa fighters that tell you it doesn't (because they like getting big)
I know this first hand and realized it was BS once I packed on about 7 lbs of muscle, even after leaning down I was getting tired quicker and was slower.
This i KNOW i'm right about. If you naturally grow in size, then that's fine, but putting on artificial muscle will slow you down and make you tired.

I didn't think much of it until I got into BJJ and Wrestling. It requires much more than just running for distance and doing all Calisthenics. High school wreslters do a lot of weight training. Especially with Core lifts like Squats and Deadlifts.

your examples are terrible. A sprinter's stamina is terrible. In the NFL the guys that run a lot are actually quite a bit smaller than those huge bulky dudes you are talking about.
MMa fighters ARE about being big, WTF since when is a lightweight 150+ lbs on fight night
you are probably a bulky ass **** who had girl problems and would hate to stop lifting weights because that was his only way out to make up for his terrible looks.

If you knew anything about boxing you would know in training a "round" refers to 3 minutes (usually). 45 rounds consists of heavybag, sparring, skipping, speed bag, pads...etc
compared to wrestling in high school, Boxing is a hell of a lot harder. the difference is huge. In fact, ESPN had boxing rated the hardest and most physically demanding sport. Even above rowing.

They aren't big just to be big, size and strength has more relevance in MMA because unlike in boxing, it's actually used.
you are probably a bulky ass **** who had girl problems and would hate to stop lifting weights because that was his only way out to make up for his terrible looks.

As far as strength goes, I've seen some pretty lean and strong wrestlers. I can't see bulk having any advantage in the striking game either so please elaborate on why MMa fighters need to pack on 30 pounds.
Football players do so because they are taking huge impacts. They also don't have great stamina, the ones that do are much lighter. A football player sprints then get's a break, rinse, repeat.
I also said bulk slows you down AND drains your stamina...you seem to only take into effect the first one. I guess stamina plays no role in MMA..
oh snap whats this
UFC lightweight (145-155 lbs) The ****? How is that a lightweight?
GroundSt.Pound 10-20-2009, 06:47 PM As far as strength goes, I've seen some pretty lean and strong wrestlers. I can't see bulk having any advantage in the striking game either so please elaborate on why MMa fighters need to pack on 30 pounds.
Having a bulky frame doesn't mean you are neccessarily going to be slower than someone who is leaner. Sean Sherk is a brick wall and he has one of the fastest and most explosive double legs in the sport and his hand speed isn't bad either for his frame.
Same with Jerome Le Banner. Very bulky, but a very good K-1 Kickboxers.
I never said that they need to pack on weight or that's what they are all about. But having a size advantage does help because being a little bigger or stronger than your opponent gives you an edge. (See St. Pierre vs. Penn 2)
Football players do so because they are taking huge impacts. They also don't have great stamina, the ones that do are much lighter. A football player sprints then get's a break, rinse, repeat.
I think it's more than just being able to take impact. Of course not all football players train the same way. A Wide Receiver may do more plyometrics or may not do as much heavy lifting as a Linebacker.
I never said anything about stamina. Stamina isn't as much of an issue for a football player because as you said it's only 30 seconds or so of action and then they get a break.
I was just saying that lifting weights doesn't make you slow and I provided examples. In fact nor does added muscle. However adding too much muscle at one time without giving your body a chance to adapt to the added size, then you will suffer drawbacks.
But generalizing makes no sense.
I also said bulk slows you down AND drains your stamina...you seem to only take into effect the first one. I guess stamina plays no role in MMA..
Stamina does play a role in MMA and in fact a very crucial role. Sherk as I said is very bulky but he has some of the best stamina in the sport. Same with GSP he's not exactly bulky but to say his stamina is ****, makes no sense.
oh snap whats this
UFC lightweight (145-155 lbs) The ****? How is that a lightweight?
Don't ask me. I don't make the weight classes up.
I've never had a problem with boxing. I like both sports although I keep up with MMA a little more than the boxing world, but that doesn't make me any less of a fan.
Although I don't enjoy the types of threads created by the like of Mr. President, it's really unnecessary, even though this is a boxing forum.
But it doesn't help when you come in with LOLZ and continue bashing.
No MMA fans in this section ever disturb the rest of the forum.
I think we deserve a break and some consideration
Spartacus Sully 10-20-2009, 11:58 PM Tell that to Usain Bolt who does Squats with Heavy Weights and other weighted exercises as part of his training regimen.
he also probably sprints 100 meters 200 times a day with out any weights at all.
Look at NFL players. They all lift weights
they spend hours running around the field, sprinting up and down the agility ladder, along with there fair share of calisthenics's im sure.
If you ONLY use weights to get stronger you have a very good chance of hitting a point that you wont be able to pass that wouldn't be their if you wernt using weights in terms of speed. though if you wernt using weights it would take you much longer to reach the same speed but since your not using weights you would just continue on instead of plateauing.
a combination of the two are obiviously the best
Move BRICKS™ 10-21-2009, 01:08 AM Nobody on here really understands what it takes to train under any top-notch professional conditions or to meet those types of standards so it's all really speculation on our part when it comes to who's training routine is harder. One thing is for sure though, what both Pac and GSP do in training is ridiculous.
Clint650 10-24-2009, 04:38 PM Im sure Hopkins has had to deal with a ton of questions about how he "feels" about mma.
almost like asking Chef Ramsey how he feels about value meals at Jack in the Box.

I don't need to speculate, I have had training camps in both sports. I train at two different gyms, one for boxing and one for MMA. I have already typed up a response to my thoughts on boxing and MMA here:
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6402994#post6402994
Both sports require the same amount of training and skill, just in different areas. I have seen quite a few boxers/muay thai guys in great shape come into the MMA gym and not last 3 minutes on the ground. They would get manhandled like little children and very soon they couldn't breathe or move since different muscles were being used.
It takes different muscles to perform in boxing and to perform in MMA. Many people don't understand how grueling wrestling/grappling really is. On the other hand, MMA guys not in boxing shape don't last too long in the ring without gassing bad and getting pummeled.
It is laughable some guy posts Randy Couture's workout (which is much more extensive than what he posted) and leaves out all of his wrestling, submission, boxing, kickboxing sessions, and cardio sessions. All high-level MMA guys train at least twice, often three times a day.
It is unfortunate people talk ***** about both sports because they have no understanding what each sport really entails. I know no matter what some people will still talk ***** on both sides of the aisle just due to their own insecurities. As I said before, walk a mile in the other guys shoes......you wouldn't f'ing make it.
I ask everyone to educate themselves on both sports before spouting off laughable nonsense. I don't ask you to like boxing or MMA, just respect what the athletes put into it. They are 2 of the best sports in the world!
L.Ellerbe 10-26-2009, 05:37 PM who is that dumb ****ing slut ***** whore in the background saying ''alright talk about this fight or lets go ''
know your position *****
Elemental Fist 10-26-2009, 06:25 PM This is why I flame and will continue to. As long as meatheads and beef brains keep saying boxing is dieing and that MMGAY is taking over and how there fatties are the best athletes because Dana White says so...i will continue to hate.
MMGAY fans hate on boxing all the F*ucking time so I will hate back.
no MMA fighter is on the pacman's or FMJ's level when it comes to athleticism and work ethic.
I'm sorry Wanderlei_silva, the only logical MMA fan on this board, but that is my reasoning.
And what am I, chop liver?
Well, if you continue to flame MMA then I will continue flame both ignorant meatheaded Boxing and MMA fanboys, because to me they act in the same meatheaded pathetic behavior, whether it's an MMA fanboy claiming Boxing is dying or a Boxing fanboy using those retarded MMGay jokes.
The fact is that no matter how different they are, both are obnoxious and closedminded fanboys who love to discredit eachother in the most retarded way possible or use juvinile insults that not even 10 or 14 year olds would find funny.
:bottle: on that fanboys:boxing:
