View Full Version : New P4P Rankings
nezahualcoyotl 03-20-2005, 01:45 PM So What's your guy's new P4P rankings after the fight tonite?
Its damn hard b/c you got Tszyu/B-Hop/Mayweather(?)/Morales/Pac-Man/G.Johnson
IMO:
1. B-Hop
2. Erik Morales
3. Tszyu
4. Glen Johnson
5. PBF
6. Pacquiao
If I'm leaving out anyone its probably b/c they havn't had any exciting PPV/HBO/ST fights. I only give B-Hop #1 b/c that guy is a mutant. Tszyu & Morales could go both ways but I'm obviously biased lolz. Shyt, cant really think of anyone else other than Glen Johnson getting up in there, but its all about the little guys now!
Super_Lightweight 03-20-2005, 01:48 PM This is a pound 4 pound scale dude...you seriously think if Glen or Zoo was the same size as Mayweather they would be able to beat him? Or Morales? Doubt it.
how can bhop be pound 4 pound hes never moved in weight get him out of the list that ****s a joke.
marvelous_TG 03-20-2005, 01:49 PM 1.hopkins

marvelous_TG 03-20-2005, 01:51 PM P4P is not only who beats who it's about the things you've done in the ring, beating good opposition etc.

Fine. I don't like to make p4p's though...they are just difficult to do and most of time are so subjective. Stricly looking at it by who is better on a pound-4-pound scale.
1) Floyd Mayweather
2) Kostya Tszyu
3) Bernard Hopkins
4) Erik Morales
5) Winky Wright (could easily switch with Morales)
6) Pac
7) Barrera
8) Trinidad
9) Jose Luis Castillo
10) Diego Corrales
glitxbs 03-20-2005, 02:13 PM I'm getting confused on the rankings of Barrera, Morales, and Pac. How do you base your rankings for the three of them? If you look at their recent records and performance against P4P contenders, you're gonna have all three pretty even:
EM - 1-1 (Pac win - Barrera loss)
MAB - 1-1 (EM win - Pac loss)
PAC - 1-1 (MAB win - EM loss)
Other factors:
- MAB win over HAMED
- MAB beat EM twice already
- PAC beat MAB in a TKO blowout fashion
- PAC draw with Marquez (both EM & MAB hasn't fought JMM yet)
- Except for MAB/PAC, other fights were won by CLOSE DEC

Just curious but when you ask "if Glen or zoo were the same size as Mayweather", do you not realize that Tszyu and Mayweather are in fact in the same division now? And I for one happen to think that Kostya Tszyu would hammer Pretty boy Floyd into the ground.

Great list, i would only make 1 change, Glen johnson should be replaced with Tarver, who completly outboxed him in there fight.
bernard hopkins needs to be deleted i always thought you had to fight in a different weight to be pound for pound and why isent de la hoya in that list.

uhh no u dont.. fighting in diff wieght classes helps but no
SacTown1 03-20-2005, 07:37 PM Great list, i would only make 1 change, Glen johnson should be replaced with Tarver, who completly outboxed him in there fight.
Tarver was slap-happy vs. Johnson, Johnson was the one landing the damaging blows, I thought it was a draw personally, but Glencoffe got the nod & I can't really argue with the decision...but thanx for the love on my list though
PessimisticPug 03-20-2005, 07:40 PM delahoya is not on the list because he is campaigning as a middleweight at the time. As a middle weight he is just not good enough to make a p4p list. He barely got past sturm, if he even really did get past him..........Rockin'

Oscar is not there because he has lost his last 3 fights!
Super_Lightweight 03-20-2005, 07:51 PM do you not realize that Tszyu and Mayweather are in fact in the same division now?
That was a dumb question, really. Of course I know they are in the same division, man! lol...that doesn't mean anything. Mayweather used to fight at 130 and could still make 130 probably (only comes into fights weighing 141 or so).
Tsyzu is way bigger, so of course the fight is dead even and I would probably slightly favor Tszyu if they fought. Tszyu weighs around 155 in the ring, he is a big fighter and makes the limit by losing water weight. Him and Floyd are NOT the same size, and I believe if they both were, Mayweather would defeat Tszyu. However, whenever they do fight, in reality Tszyu will weigh about 155 and Floyd will weigh about 141 or so and you have to keep that in mind. It's not as if they both will weigh the same in the ring.
