View Full Version : Who runs in the morning? Around 5..
'Sugar' Freddi 10-11-2009, 04:17 PM Anyone wakes up early and runs at 5? I do. During the summer, I would run during 11 or something after I woke up because no school, but ever since school started - I have to wake up at 5 and go run. I decided to run at 5 in the morning because right after school, I go to the gym and after I get hoe from the gym, I feel tired and lazy as well so I might just get over it in the morning.
I also heard that it's better to run early in the morning.
Richie-G 10-11-2009, 04:22 PM i used to do it at 5 30, its hard but you feel great after and energetic for the rest of the day. I go after school now about 3 30. its just what you prefer i dont think there is a best time to go.
PAC-BOY 10-11-2009, 04:24 PM I run 4-5 am in the morning every morning

I also heard that it's better to run early in the morning.I only ran in the morning when preparing for tourneys during my amateur days. I do prefer to run in the early morning though, but it's really very difficult to get out of bed, and it's not like it's necessary to do it in the a.m.
But morning times are fun, especially during the summer when the heat has not peaked. And yes, it gives me energy for the rest of the day. Unlike running after work, where your brain is pretty much wracked and you just wanna sit on the sofa and watch sports, lol
Tu Pai 10-11-2009, 04:36 PM I run or do weights at 5.
Spambo boy 10-11-2009, 04:38 PM I wish I had your guys energy!! I can't get out of bed in the morning.
I usually run after work, sometimes late around 8 or 9 at night.

I feel like **** everytime I miss a run, agree thou, not easy getting used to getting up at 4.
'Sugar' Freddi 10-11-2009, 04:50 PM Exactly, when I get home - I justw ant to rest and watch TV. I would hate it to run after school and training at the gym. I love it though, running in the morning is great and for those of you who haven't tried it yet, you should. Remember, if you want to succeed, you need to have dedication and do whatever it takes, that is waking up at 5. Trust me, it's not easy.
Spambo boy 10-11-2009, 04:51 PM I feel like **** everytime I miss a run, agree thou, not easy getting used to getting up at 4.
I'm gonna try and go out tomorrow morning early, I'll let you guys know whether or not I fail.lol.
DavidS 10-11-2009, 05:35 PM i find it extremely dificult to get up at such hours, i'm trying to get up at 8 and STILL it's hard.
'Sugar' Freddi 10-11-2009, 06:06 PM The only hard part that is really difficult is until you wash your face. I just hate it when the alarm goes on. As soon as the alarm goes on, I quickly wake up and wash my face so I won't be sleepy. Try that. As soon as you wake up, go wash your face.

I hit snooze twice and get up about 4:15, only way to do it.

Spambo boy 10-11-2009, 06:17 PM Well I better get to bed then as it's 10 pm here!!

Yea, to wake up at 5 in the morning - you can't really go to sleep late. On weekdays, I usually go to sleep around 9 or 9:30 so I could wake up in the morning.
"Shion" 10-11-2009, 06:30 PM I have only begun boxing about a year and a half ago.
I plan on going pro at the age of 20 or 19 and I am 17 at the moment.
What I did in summer is I would get up as early as possible.
Sometimes it would be at 5, sometimes it would be at 6, but I would go straight outside, stretch, and run for about 2 maybe 3 hours.
It was the best feeling in the world when I finished.
Haha, sorry for going off on a tangent, I just had to let it out.
2 or 3 hours is a long time...
I smell BS.
'Sugar' Freddi 10-11-2009, 06:43 PM Damn, that's a lot of times, 2 to 3 hours running is too much in my opinion since you also train later in the day. Good luck!
"Shion" 10-11-2009, 06:44 PM In truth, there is no way to prove it to you so you will have to choose to beleive me or not.
When I got up at 6 i would normally come back around 8 something, when i got up at 5 i would normally get back around 7.
Now I am not saying I ran that long every single time.
Some days I took a different route that took less time, I also didn't sprint through the whole thing.

At what speed do you run? Have you seen videos of other boxers running? Pacquiao? Tyson? Do you run at the same speed as them or faster fr 2 hours?
shogunn 10-11-2009, 07:09 PM getting up early is hard. Maybe if I didnt have a fulltime job I could do it.
But for me, even on my days off, waking up naturally is more important than waking up early with an alarm.

Sorry it took me so long to reply.
I had to get 15 posts to put in this URL.
Well, in the beginning where you see Tyson running, I do about 3/4 that speed.
When I finish, I realized that I tend to slow down at the end of the run due to fatigue I beleive.

Spambo boy 10-12-2009, 03:14 AM Got up at 5.15 and went for a 45 minute run. Felt good but now I feel tired.
I think it's because I didn't get to sleep last night till about 12. I was lying in bed staring at the ceiling for ages, just couldn't get off.
fuddoh 10-12-2009, 04:57 AM Do you guys go out to run in the morning on a empty stomach or do you eat breakfast before you go? I would also like to go out and run in the morning but my sleeping routine is ****ed up, i usually go to bed really late, like 1 or 2 am and wake up at 9 on a schoolday so i need to fix that.
TheTruthIs 10-12-2009, 05:07 AM People who wake up early. Am I too late for my prize?
'Sugar' Freddi 10-12-2009, 10:22 AM It's not too late.
You gotta eat something in the morning or even drink a glass of milk. What I do is I eat a banana and drink a glass of milk and when I finish, I make a peanut butter sandwich then leave for school.
keepthemhandsup 10-12-2009, 10:55 AM im bout to go run now
run on an empty stomach, but it always good to eat something before you run
'Sugar' Freddi 10-12-2009, 11:07 AM I tried to run with an empty stomach once but I didn't feel that good so that's why I eat and drink something before.
Spambo boy 10-12-2009, 11:11 AM I went out this morning on an empty stomach, and had my breakfast when I got home.
Squabbles94806 10-12-2009, 11:57 AM Shiit, i wish i could. I gotta be up and outta the house by 5am for work. But i'd totally do it if boxing was my job and i had to get up at 5am to run. It's better than getting up at the crack of dawn for this bullshiit.
"Shion" 10-12-2009, 12:44 PM I recently haven't been running at all cuz my body is effed up.
This whole week I got like, a small version of swine flu.
Spartacus Sully 10-12-2009, 01:01 PM the earliest i go out is 7:00 i usually eat a few bagels and waffles like 45 min before hand.

'Sugar' Freddi 10-12-2009, 01:43 PM do you guys do this on a empty stomach ??
I see some people do it but I don't. I think it's better to eat & drink something. I usually drink a glass of milk and eat a banana before I run.

you guys should have six packs right ?
S31KOU 10-12-2009, 01:56 PM i do on weekends i cant during the weekdays because i have to go to school
"Shion" 10-12-2009, 01:57 PM you guys should have six packs right ?
lol, to be honest, I do not have one.
You can kind of make it out, but it's not there yet.
Back on topic:
When I run in the morning i usualy just get a banana and milk, then i run.
When I get back I then eat my good breakfast.
Eggs, toast, etc. etc.
'Sugar' Freddi 10-12-2009, 01:59 PM you guys should have six packs right ?
I think running just makes you get your stomach harder and doesn't give your six packs.
JmtRyan 10-12-2009, 04:07 PM I'm the complete opposite to most of you guys in this thread. I never run in the morning. I always go and run at night, between 10PM and 11PM, always felt better.
jamiegeorge91 10-12-2009, 10:07 PM i havnt ran much over the past 3 weeks and im fighting on friday im curious to see as how my stamina is :D
fuddoh 10-13-2009, 05:18 AM When you guys eat before you go out to run do you wait a while or do you go out right after you've eaten? I know it's not good to run right after you just ate or drank something, you could get cramps and **** like that.
Spartacus Sully 10-13-2009, 06:24 AM I wait about 45 mins after ive eaten. though I dont think its really necessiary to eat anything before hand unless your planning on running more then 1 hour.
Chex31 10-13-2009, 02:32 PM I do, had to during my BMQ. Wake up at 4:45am fix our beds and at 5 go for a 6+km run.
RightHooker 10-13-2009, 03:09 PM i havnt ran much over the past 3 weeks and im fighting on friday im curious to see as how my stamina is :D
You will most likely see some decrease in stamina, but exactly how much will depend on what condition you were in before, and how hard you have been doing the rest of your training in the gym. Good luck.
"Shion" 10-13-2009, 05:20 PM i havnt ran much over the past 3 weeks and im fighting on friday im curious to see as how my stamina is :D
Don't overexert yourself.
