Obviously his performances vs Ruiz and Byrd make him a top 10 heavyweight. He deserves to fght the top guys and try to take them out until he's obviousl too old to compete anymore.

The question you should be aking is:

"Why is the heavyweight division so crappy that Andrew Golota is good enough to fight for titles?"

Andrew Golota has tons of appeal. He`s big, powerful, does crazy unpredictable things in the ring and he`s WHITE!!!

Golota has an apeall similar to that of Tysons. He is one crazy mo fo. He can fight abit and does possess the power to drop somebody at any given time.

Its not always the ones that deserve to get the good money bouts and title shots that get those shots. Its the one who can put people in the seats and have them shell out their money that will get the shot. Golota is still a world class fighter the last time I saw. The limited depth of the heavyweight division does play a part in me saying that he is world class. But people like to watch the crazy pole so they will pay the money.

It all comes down to who can generate the income for the promoters. If they can make money putting him in a title shot than they will, no matter if deserving or not........Rockin'

Of all the current heavyweights besides Tyson, Golota puts the most people in seats.

he's WHITE, end of story

why did McNeeley get to fight Tyson?

why did Cooney make $10mil vs Holmes?

why did Prince Naseem make 6mil vs Barrera?

Naseem isn`t white, he is Arab but i see the point.

Technically Arabs are white though. And I think the better question is how Golota maintains such loyal fanbase?

Naseem is white, "Arab" is not a skin tone

Probably because we see the talent within him.

He's a Don King fighter, fighting the 3rd heavyweight champ that King also has under contract...

If he loses this next fight, he's out of Don King champs to fight...

Probably because everyone knows he actually won both fights with Byrd and Ruiz! And King know's he can make money off of Andrew. Man you really are a friggin' idiot! J/K ;)

I think the point is whether people thought he was jobbed or really lost, it's besides the point. He lost and drew in those fights. Don King knows he's very marketable, like Holyfield and Tyson. It's a business and Andrew is a tough fighter so why not? I for one wish he at least fought 2 non title fights and make it look legit.

I understand that part, its just how many times he's blown. I gave up a while ago. I recognize the fact that he probably wasn't going to beat Tyson, so I'll give him a pass for that one, but he was clearly well ahead in both Bowe fights and the Grant fight at the time when he "quit."
