View Full Version : Tonight on HBO: Morales-Barrera I & Pacquiao-Marquez borikua 03-18-2005, 11:24 AM As a preview to the Morales-Pac fight HBO will air Morales-Barrera I and Pac-Marquez tonight... :boxing: AintGottaClue 03-18-2005, 11:28 AM showing a robbery and a boxing lesson `before the big fight? lol m00ks 03-18-2005, 12:54 PM showing a robbery and a boxing lesson `before the big fight? lol who was robbed and who gave a boxing lesson? SacTown1 03-18-2005, 01:08 PM who was robbed and who gave a boxing lesson? In both fights, the public was robbed, and in neither fight, there was a boxing lesson m00ks 03-18-2005, 01:12 PM In both fights, the public was robbed, and in neither fight, there was a boxing lesson now there's an intelligent answer if I ever heard one :) SacTown1 03-18-2005, 01:12 PM now there's an intelligent answer if I ever heard one :) Thanx for the love, I call 'em like I see 'em AintGottaClue 03-18-2005, 01:26 PM who was robbed and who gave a boxing lesson? barrera was robbed and i thought JMM gave pac a boxing lesson after being down 3 times ;) m00ks 03-18-2005, 01:29 PM barrera was robbed and i thought JMM gave pac a boxing lesson after being down 3 times ;) LOL yeah I thought Barrera was robbed two specially after the 12 round RULED knockdown (convincing or not). And I really don't get this "boxing lesson" posters keep repeating. 95% of boxing experts and writers saw a close fight and you guys see a one sided beatdown? Pffffffff  BBFM 03-18-2005, 01:31 PM even though morales fought like **** I would of done 2 draws... and a win for barrera they were all so close. m00ks 03-18-2005, 01:32 PM even though morales fought like **** I would of done 2 draws... and a win for barrera they were all so close. Ah man you would start a riot if you were a judge :D oldgringo 03-18-2005, 01:32 PM Both fights were as close as nails. Morales beat Barrera. The KD was bogus and he STILL beat him... I think Marquez dominated the later part of the fight but I still scored it a draw I think. Pacquiao didn't get shut-out after rd1 like some people say though... BBFM 03-18-2005, 01:33 PM yeah. first 2 fights were really close though. third one morales fought like **** thats what he gets for being a ****y idiot. SacTown1 03-18-2005, 01:33 PM LOL yeah I thought Barrera was robbed two specially after the 12 round RULED knockdown (convincing or not). And I really don't get this "boxing lesson" posters keep repeating. 95% of boxing experts and writers saw a close fight and you guys see a one sided beatdown? Pffffffff  Good call my brother guys who go down FACE FIRST in the FIRST ROUND aren't exactly poster-boy's for giving a "boxing lesson" JMM came back like a warrior, but that was no boxing lesson, Manny shot his wad in rd 1 and JMM took advantage & counter-punched his way to survival m00ks 03-18-2005, 01:38 PM Good call my brother guys who go down FACE FIRST in the FIRST ROUND aren't exactly poster-boy's for giving a "boxing lesson" JMM came back like a warrior, but that was no boxing lesson, Manny shot his wad in rd 1 and JMM took advantage & counter-punched his way to survival You give a hand they take an arm. I scored it 7-5 for Marquez. Had he stayed up in the first, he would have won by a big enough margin. But 11 rounds come after the 1st... AintGottaClue 03-18-2005, 01:54 PM i had barrera winning all 3 fights. and liek u said mooks 90%+ say it was a boxing lesson and i have never seen the fight so i'll have to agree with them :) BBFM 03-18-2005, 01:58 PM You Think felix sturm is the best middleweight ever so it dont matter what you think. Morales Clearly won the 2nd fight 1st was close 3rd he lost. RwK 03-18-2005, 01:59 PM Good call my brother guys who go down FACE FIRST in the FIRST ROUND aren't exactly poster-boy's for giving a "boxing lesson" JMM came back like a warrior, but that was no boxing lesson, Manny shot his wad in rd 1 and JMM took advantage & counter-punched his way to survival I do not want to start another war concering this topic: But if you look at it in retrospect; Pacquiao only won the 1st round. You can score the 1st round a 10-6 which is unheard of. Most judges score a three knockdown round 10-7. Which I did. Marquez won literally every round after that, by landing the more clean, effective punches. He landed more, and threw less while Manny was doing the "Windmill". Agressiveness should certainly not be awarded if it does not affect an opponent. I saw that as the biggest boxing lesson Manny has ever learned. he realizes this too, because he admitted it was a tougher fight than he had expected. The punches which knocked JMM down, were flash punches...and flash knockdowns. They had literally no effect on the continuation of the fight, yet serve as a little reminder about "Dominance" in the ring. In a related topic: I have even heard people go to the length and say that Mike Tyson should have recieved a "draw" in his fight with douglas. People claim he was not given a "fair count" etc. This stems from the fact they like watching Tyson knock someone down, or land the harder punches. Extremely similar to Pacquiao if you ask me. He is simply "the fan favorite" I might be biased, considering I was Rooting for JMM, and can not stand Pacquiao. Another similar fight, was Mayorga V.S. Spinks. If anyone gave the decision to Mayorga, its time to watch something else. fights should not be THAT subjective. Please. Spinks owned him bad. BBFM 03-18-2005, 02:02 PM Neither JMM or BARRERA were hurt by the punches they both got up from them not being as hurt as when junior jones KO'd Barrera and we all know what morales did to him joeboxer 03-18-2005, 02:06 PM Neither JMM or BARRERA were hurt by the punches they both got up from them not being as hurt as when junior jones KO'd Barrera and we all know what morales did to him interesting... something to think about for sure. m00ks 03-18-2005, 02:49 PM I do not want to start another war concering this topic: But if you look at it in retrospect; Pacquiao only won the 1st round. Everyone has an opinion. Anyweyz, there's a bigger fight to talk about :boxing: joeboxer 03-18-2005, 03:02 PM Lmao. I opened the last page on the thread: and I saw a html coding process that read: MAR O E TERALLY RND!! friggin huge letter emphasis. :) I stand firm in my convictions though, //priming keg pump\\ nice av you sicko. check out the off-topic forum thread called Rubs the lotion on the skin. You will love it. m00ks 03-18-2005, 03:03 PM Neither JMM or BARRERA were hurt by the punches they both got up from them not being as hurt as when junior jones KO'd Barrera and we all know what morales did to him Barrera got DQed. He would have gotten saved by the bell. MWCOFSU 03-18-2005, 04:59 PM Most judges score a three knockdown round 10-7. Which I did. no they dont! The other two judges and lederman had it a 10-6 round. maybe you're waiting for people to forget what the main discussion was directly after the fight. Had that one judge scored it a 10-6, like the other two , PACman would have won. it doesnt matter who peforms better at which part. just what the final score is. the fact is that pacman had a disgusting 1st round and if that judge had scored it 10-6, Pacman would have squeeked by. Yea there are 11 rounds after the 1st. its the same in every sport(ex. 3 quaters after the 1st). But if you blow them out 25-5 in the first and then lose the rest of game by a margin of 88-69..you still win in the end 94-93. that is unless of course the scorekeeper forgets to award you a dunk in the first quarter. AintGottaClue 03-18-2005, 05:47 PM You Think felix sturm is the best middleweight ever so it dont matter what you think. Morales Clearly won the 2nd fight 1st was close 3rd he lost. what is your problem i never said sturm was the greatest middlewieght ever u sack of **** ****tard SacTown1 03-18-2005, 06:01 PM what is your problem i never said sturm was the greatest middlewieght ever u sack of **** ****tard Don't pay attention to OscarRules fellas, he's still bitter that his boy came to the States to sell his WBO belt to DeLaHoya BBFM 03-18-2005, 06:03 PM dude thats the most awesome thing i have heard sack of **** ****tard lmao. dident you make a thread? about felix sturm possibly being the best and being able to beat a good hopkins not an old fart hopkins. tracylee 03-18-2005, 06:06 PM As a preview to the Morales-Pac fight HBO will air Morales-Barrera I and Pac-Marquez tonight... :boxing: Yeah, I saw that on my guide the other day ;) and I'm glad cause now I get the chance to tape Pac-Marquez yet again (my original is long gone apparently!) AintGottaClue 03-18-2005, 06:12 PM dude thats the most awesome thing i have heard sack of **** ****tard lmao. dident you make a thread? about felix sturm possibly being the best and being able to beat a good hopkins not an old fart hopkins. u said i called him the best EVER idiot, which he is not, best right now sure i think he can beat anyone atm. gonna prove it to july 16 when he retires hopkins. and no i dont recall making a thread saying sturm could beat a prime hopkins MlLkMan 03-18-2005, 07:04 PM You give a hand they take an arm. I scored it 7-5 for Marquez. Had he stayed up in the first, he would have won by a big enough margin. But 11 rounds come after the 1st... If he stayed up, everything would be different, doesnt mean Marquez wins by a big decision, every action, reaction ;) dando 03-18-2005, 09:54 PM anybody know if its on hbo1 or hbo2 and what time? julDilla 03-18-2005, 09:58 PM Barrera-Morales I is on at 10:30 pacific time i dont know about the other fight tracylee 03-19-2005, 12:09 PM anybody know if its on hbo1 or hbo2 and what time? and, if you missed it then, they replay it again Sat at 4 pm...on HBO2, and again at 7 pm on HBO2 West. tracylee 03-19-2005, 12:12 PM Barrera-Morales I is on at 10:30 pacific time i dont know about the other fight I checked cause I have all 3 morales-barrera fights taped already, but still need to replace pac-marquez..so, pac-marquez came on exactly 45 min's after morales-barrera. Example, for todays replay, morales-barrera will start at 4 pm, and pac-marquez will start right at 4:45 ;) m00ks 03-19-2005, 12:26 PM If he stayed up, everything would be different, doesnt mean Marquez wins by a big decision, every action, reaction ;) Well I just said that to make these guys happy. IMO, had Marquez not been blitz in the first round, Manny's hands would have been fine. JMM would have gone down sooner or later :D But yeah, its was likely JMM would have gotten the nod if it wasnt for the 1st round. Sweat 03-19-2005, 12:35 PM Wait A Minute..
