LOL yeah I thought Barrera was robbed two specially after the 12 round RULED knockdown (convincing or not). And I really don't get this "boxing lesson" posters keep repeating. 95% of boxing experts and writers saw a close fight and you guys see a one sided beatdown? Pffffffff :rolleyes:

Both fights were as close as nails. Morales beat Barrera. The KD was bogus and he STILL beat him...

I think Marquez dominated the later part of the fight but I still scored it a draw I think. Pacquiao didn't get shut-out after rd1 like some people say though...

You give a hand they take an arm. I scored it 7-5 for Marquez. Had he stayed up in the first, he would have won by a big enough margin. But 11 rounds come after the 1st...

i had barrera winning all 3 fights. and liek u said mooks 90%+ say it was a boxing lesson and i have never seen the fight so i'll have to agree with them :)

I do not want to start another war concering this topic: But if you look at it in retrospect; Pacquiao only won the 1st round. You can score the 1st round a 10-6 which is unheard of. Most judges score a three knockdown round 10-7. Which I did. Marquez won literally every round after that, by landing the more clean, effective punches. He landed more, and threw less while Manny was doing the "Windmill". Agressiveness should certainly not be awarded if it does not affect an opponent.

I saw that as the biggest boxing lesson Manny has ever learned. he realizes this too, because he admitted it was a tougher fight than he had expected.

The punches which knocked JMM down, were flash punches...and flash knockdowns. They had literally no effect on the continuation of the fight, yet serve as a little reminder about "Dominance" in the ring.

I have even heard people go to the length and say that Mike Tyson should have recieved a "draw" in his fight with douglas. People claim he was not given a "fair count" etc.
This stems from the fact they like watching Tyson knock someone down, or land the harder punches.
Extremely similar to Pacquiao if you ask me. He is simply "the fan favorite"
I might be biased, considering I was Rooting for JMM, and can not stand Pacquiao.
Another similar fight, was Mayorga V.S. Spinks.

no they dont! The other two judges and lederman had it a 10-6 round. maybe you're waiting for people to forget what the main discussion was directly after the fight.
Had that one judge scored it a 10-6, like the other two , PACman would have won.

it doesnt matter who peforms better at which part. just what the final score is. the fact is that pacman had a disgusting 1st round and if that judge had scored it 10-6, Pacman would have squeeked by.

Yea there are 11 rounds after the 1st. its the same in every sport(ex. 3 quaters after the 1st). But if you blow them out 25-5 in the first and then lose the rest of game by a margin of 88-69..you still win in the end 94-93. that is unless of course the scorekeeper forgets to award you a dunk in the first quarter.

I checked cause I have all 3 morales-barrera fights taped already, but still need to replace pac-marquez..so, pac-marquez came on exactly 45 min's after morales-barrera. Example, for todays replay, morales-barrera will start at 4 pm, and pac-marquez will start right at 4:45 ;)

Well I just said that to make these guys happy. IMO, had Marquez not been blitz in the first round, Manny's hands would have been fine. JMM would have gone down sooner or later :D But yeah, its was likely JMM would have gotten the nod if it wasnt for the 1st round.
