I have a question about the Left Hook. When I'm shadowboxing or hitting the heavybag, I tend to shift to the left a little bit so I can put a lot of power behind the Left Hook when I shift my weight back to the right.

Is that the correct way to throw a Left Hook, shift a little to the left and then throw it? Or do you just move in, and throw it with no hip rotation to the left?

if u always shift to the left before u throw the hook then ur opponet will know when its coming. just rotate ur hips and bring ur elbow up for more power.

a good tip i was told is to imagine your crunching peanuts or something familiar under your left foot, this helps with the rotation
