One thing I absolutely hate about christmas is the TERRIBLE music.
So this season I am trying to make a compilation of Christmas songs that are bearable to listen to. So far I have.....

Ramones - Christmas Song
AC/DC - Mistress for Christmas
Joan Jett & The blackhearts - Little Drummer Boy (if you haven't heard this, I suggest you listen. I believe it is the single GREATEST christmas song ever made)
Sex Pistols - Punk Rock Christmas

Any others?

I like several Christmas songs....
I like the traditional ones, sung in the traditional fashion.
I certainly don't want to hear some R&B singer get their hands on one & turn it into some kind of vocal gymanstics nightmare.
I also don't ant to hear ANY of these songs until after thanksgiving.

"Jingle Bell Rock".....that's the one I truly hate

I know what you mean about Jingle Bell Rock. Shouldn't a song called something rock be a bit more 'rocking' than the song it is named for?

I'm sure when Jesus himself hears "Jingle Bell Rock", he's thinking....
"Yeah....happy f*ckin' birthday, huh ?"

"Christmas Baby Please Come Home" -- Not a totally tradional song, but quite old these days. Whenever an authentic Motown singer does thing done it just kills.

Has anyone ever heard that old Run DMC Christmas song? It's bad...not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good (cue the turntable scratching) :D .

Its called Christmas in Hollis or something like that.

I must be in the minority here, but I dont mind jingle Bell Rock. I like that song a lot better than the slow ones.

Yeah, I think you're right. I remember the limo driver in Die Hard plays it near the start of that movie. I think it also appeared on a benefit album ("A Very Special Christmas"?).

The Neil Diamond version of Jingle Bell Rock is hilarious. You can almost picture him snapping his fingers like a slickster lounge singer as he croons away.

Gotta love Nat King Cole's version of the "The Christmas Song".

That's a soothing tune.

There are several that I like . My fave is probaly the one written by Mel Torme that Jabs alluded to...great tune!
Another fave was written by my old boss, Buck Ram. He wrote most of the Platters hits and also wrote "I'll Be Home For Christmas".Corny but good.

That song is ****ing awesome, i remember the video, too, it's really low budget but it's funny... i think it has a black santa with more gold around his neck than Mr. T.????

I am a huge Beatles fan...they are, in fact the single biggest reason I became a musician myself.
When I hear Paul doing **** like this, I want to gouge my own eardrums out.

Some hip-hop selections:

Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is good
So is Christmas in Hollis by Run-DMC
Jamie Foxx's rendition of A Very Special Christmas as performed on In Living Color was good too

...but perhaps the best non-traditional Christmas song is Eazy-E's Merry Mutha****in' Xmas...
