Okay, I read a lot about who the best rappers are but I don't hear Gang Starr mentioned much... Maybe I've missed it when they've been brought up? But Gang Starr is nice, how are they not as hyped as other "greats"? Maybe their just a personal favorite of mine, but Gang Starr = One of the Greats!

Guru is a good rapper, not great. Gangstarr is a great group however, one of the great duo's to ever do it.

Guru is more than a good rapper.

But I assume you mean to say that in your opinion he is not "one of the greats", as opposed to being "great" as in "better than good".

As a group or due, they're right up there with the best EPMD, Eric B & Rakim, UGK, and Talib & Mos. I'm just suprised that they're not brought up that often... At least not from what I've seen.

DJ Premier and Guru compliment each other perfectly and GangStarr is one of the best duos to ever do it. one of my favorites, hands down.
but i do not view Guru as one of the greatest rappers. independent of Premo he has released some decent material, but it's just not the same. as a rapper alone he is not much of a contender for the title of all time great but with DJ Premier, they could legitimately be considered one of the Greatest duos of all time. his rapping skills alone are not enough and that is basically what i'm trying to say here.

"lemonade is a popular drink and it still is"

but then again i guess every rapper has a dull moment here and there... i guess you could say it's a "moment of truth".
haha. yes, i did just say that.
