St. Patrick was the patron saint of the republic of Ireland back in the 13th century. He led the Irish against the Normans in the Franco-Ire War in 1422, crushing the famous Prussian Regime. They wore green, dressed in cobbler's outfits and fooled the Prussian officers with their own ambush. Legend has it that Saint Patrick was held at knifepoint by an enemy leader, but just as the leader was about to stab him, the leader slipped on a wet patch of clovers and stabbed himself. A bystander said he had "the luck of the irish," coining a phrase that would live on for over 600 years.

He is also probably more well known for his advances in pest control. He ran snakes out of Ireland.
