View Full Version : About Demarcus Corley..
jack_the_rippuh 03-16-2005, 12:52 PM Is this guy a right-handed southpaw? He seems to hit harder with his right hand than he does with his left. I remember in his fight with Mayweather he caught Mayweather with a flush left hand what didn't even faze Mayweather, and the right hand what he caught Mayweather with nearly blew Mayweather away. Also the right hand what he caught Cotto with was vicious as well. So is he really a right-handed southpaw, or is it that he just has more power in his right hand?
AintGottaClue 03-16-2005, 01:07 PM i think he his and sturm did it agasint dlh in rounds 11-12 also

good with both hands idk how you call it,
and he wears girl's underwear, that tells you
he is not your average fighter.
jack_the_rippuh 03-16-2005, 01:58 PM Isn't Tyson the same story, only bacwards? I once heard that he is a lefty...I know the golden boy is.
puppy_dogg 03-16-2005, 02:01 PM yes, tyson is a converted southpaw like oscar
AintGottaClue 03-16-2005, 02:01 PM left-handed orthadox?
Super_Lightweight 03-16-2005, 02:02 PM Some orthodox fighters have more force in their left hook simply because they have more torque when twisting their body to throw the punch. This could also be the case for Corley so I wouldn't assume he is anything but left-handed just yet.
I will say this...Corley came into that Cotto fight in VERY good shape, and you could see in his eyes that he was very focused and unafraid. Sometimes he stalked Cotto with his hands down!
Corley was simply too small but he could have won if the fight would have went longer. I hope he will put on 4-5 lbs of muscle for the rematch, and just lose more water-weight to make 140 lbs so that he will come into the ring at 148 or so instead of 141 like he did last time.

i think he would win a rematch
1. he wont be paid to lose as i beilve happened.
2. coto isnt gonna have 4 chances to make make so i dotn think he is gonna be 160 pounds come fight time
3. corley hurt him once and he can do it again he is to adverse and quick for coto.
4. he knows what to expect
5. fight wont be in PR :)
puppy_dogg 03-16-2005, 02:10 PM 1. he wont be paid to lose as i beilve happened.
i remember thinking the same thing when i was watching corley walk around the ring and not go at cotto when he was hurt
AintGottaClue 03-16-2005, 02:13 PM i remember thinking the same thing when i was watching corley walk around the ring and not go at cotto when he was hurt
when he had coto hurt he just walked to him didnt swarm didnt do jack and then when the ref stopped the fight he wasnt to mad at all, and his face just looked like...
puppy_dogg 03-16-2005, 02:17 PM i think even emanuel steward thought something was up. he said "i dont know why corley is not......"
and then just stopped as if he better not say something that would raise controversy

corely will get his win soon.. just liek vince phillips
Super_Lightweight 03-16-2005, 02:28 PM Corley wasn't paid to lose. There is too much evidence against. He just used the wrong gameplan and yall underestimate Cotto's ability to recover. Corley held back a bit vs Mayweather and Judah also. Physically, he's almost as good as any fighter but his brain isn't all there.
Corley was very angry when the fight was stopped and was throwing vicious hooks and body shots throughout the fight. No way Corley threw the fight.
Slipx 03-16-2005, 02:35 PM and he wears girl's underwear,
he buys **** from victoria's for his tailoring /sewing habit, i seriously doubt he wears panties.
if he does, wtf is he thinking. then again the panties might support your balls better for the nutcup, maybe it's a good idea. shrug, maybe ill try on a pair and put on my nutcup, to test it out.
nevertheless, a boxer shopping for himself in victorias secret and trying **** on, definately looks like a *** to the average person.

Several months ago I read an interview what was on ESB with him and they were asking him about his hometown rival, Sharmba Mitchell, and he was saying how he didn't like the guy, and how Mitchell was calling him names because he wore lingerie....Corley went on to justify him wearing Lingerie by saying it feels comfortable.

im not posotive that he threw the fight and i would never say that i was certain of it until i knew the real fact. there's really no way to ever know so i hold nothing agaist corley or cotto's performance. the thought just crossed my mind as i was watching the fight, it seemed suspicious to me but nothing set in stone here..... :D
Super_Lightweight 03-16-2005, 02:44 PM Well I can understand if it crossed your mind, no doubt. I was really mad that Corley wasn't more aggressive. However, I have watched the fight 5 or 6 times since then and it's apparent to me that he did not throw the fight, he just threw really hard shots to the body instead of the head (dumb).
As for Corley's drawls...yeah, he does wear women's underwear and this was explained in the fight vs Judah if you listen to Lampley. I don't have a problem with it. I wouldn't want to fight Corley though because it would be pretty embarrassing to get beat by a guy who everyone thinks is gay.

I dont think he is. I also dont think that he hits harder with his right, it just looks that way because if you are a southpaw then the right hand is a blind punch. The right hand is hard to see for a right hand fighter
