Hollywood – 50 Cent and Clay Aiken have publicly ended a vicious feud that erupted into gunfire last week. The two artists came head to head when a hairstylist from Aiken’s posse was shot in the leg outside of a TV station where 50 Cent was giving an interview. Only hours later, gun shots were fired outside of 50 Cent’s representatives’ offices. With a full-scale war between Aiken and 50 Cent about to erupt, both men decided to act before the violence got out of control.

“We’re here today to show that people can rise above the most difficult circumstances,” said 50 Cent. “A lot of people don’t want to see this truce happen, but we’re responding to the most important people: our family, our fans and Ryan Seacrest.” The feud between Aiken and 50 Cent was drawing comparisons to the dispute between Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. nearly a decade ago. Both men were eventually shot to death in separate slayings that have not been solved.

“People like Aiken and 50 Cent are very unpredictable,” said Rev. Al Sharpton. “What if the bullets started flying again, and suddenly there was a street war? Knowing what we know about Aiken, there was a very good chance that 50 Cent could get have gotten killed.”
