I'm glad they managed to get this fight made, as the middleweight division is looking decisively shallow at the moment. Abraham has jumped to 168 for the tourney, Sturm is in limbo due to a promotional dispute and Mundine... ..actually never mind about him.

I don't really know who'll take this one, but I'd like Kelly to win. He needs a win against a top tier opponent to get his confidence back. Either way the winner will probably move up to 168 where the real action is.

Froch v Dirrell
Abraham v Taylor
Kessler v Ward
Bute v Andrade 2

That tourney is incredible. I can't believe they actually managed to put those together. Who you got in those fights?

I hope Pavlik can get it done as well. I've been a fan since the first Taylor fight. He may be limited but he is tough and gives it everything. I find it amazing how many people are tipping this to be a one-sided beatdown for Paul. I wouldn't think a man who got outboxed by a guy that couldn't go 5 rounds with Miguel Cotto and is easy as **** to hit should be favoured over a guy with true MW punching power. It seems these days that you lose to a legend and you are a bum.

I'm picking Pavlik to win the fight. I'm not ruling Paul out, his volume will definately give Pavlik problems, I just think that in the end Pavlik will be too strong for him and will probably wear him down and win a decision.

After some notable wins by Pavlik I jumped on the ban wagon but since the Hopkins fight I have some concerns as to whether he can beat Williams inside 12 rounds. I have a feeling he wont beat Williams on points because of the accuracy and volume of his punching

Pavlik has to win by KO if not loses a UD

That seems to be a pretty common view.

I dunno, I see Paul's workrate falling drastically when Pavlik nails him with a few hard right hands. Its all good throwing a million punches and just getting hit at will against Quintana or Verno Phillips - a bit different against a guy with true middleweight power. Don't forget also that Pavlik is no slouch himself in terms of volume. He pretty much got the win in the second Taylor fight on volume alone.

I dunno, I think Kelly is getting seriously underestimated in this matchup.

good points and thats probably why hopkins was so effective in that he was able to take that away form him
i think that hopkins fight is the key to beating pavlik whether or not someone can execute the same plan we will soon find out
this is a really interesting match up cause neither is expect to walk away with an easy win
cant wait

I'd like to see Dirrell outbox Froch over 12. I suspect however that it may go the same way as the Taylor fight with Froch scoring a late TKO to win.

I think Taylor will come back strong against Abraham, only to lose a controversial decision in Germany.

Kessler will win a comfortable decision over a backpeddling Ward.

Agreed, its a great fight.

Paul is as tough as nails and has great volume no doubt, but he is really easy to hit. Pavlik couldn't really land on BHop at all which allowed Hopkins to dictate the tempo of that fight. I think Pavlik will be able to hit Williams at will and I'm not sure how PWill is going to stand up against that.

As you say though, it shouldn't be easy for either guy and both guys come to fight. Should be a good one.

Yeah I see it similar. Dirrell has skills but I just think Froch will wear him down. Taylor-Abraham could go one of two ways for mine. Feasibly, Taylor could just dominate that entire fight and barely lose a round. I'm not at all impressed with what AA has to offer to be honest. All he seems to have is KO power, and Taylor is a skilled guy. Taylor's stamina will probably get him again though and AA will probably stop him. I don't think Ward will be too much of a match for Kessler. I expect Mikkel to win a one-sided decision in that fight.

I think Paul Williams can win this by decision, and I think Arthur Abraham's power might be a bit too much for Taylor.

Yeah but last time it was just postponed, this time it is off.

Pavlik is copping a fair bit of hate for pulling out, but judging from the photos of his hand there is no way he can fight. I just hope he manages to recover from it.

There is talk of Sergio Martinez stepping up to fill Pavlik's spot against WIlliams on the HBO card. Martinez is typically a 154 pounder but he said he will fight Williams at 160 to get the fight.

That fight should happen as with Pavlik out of the picture PWill doesn't really have too many options.

Another twist in the sorry tale of Kelly Pavlik. Two weeks ago, he was unable to train because of a hand infection. He's now scheduled to fight Miguel Espino on Dec 19. It's sounding more and more like a blatant duck job of PWill.

Also, wasn't Espino the dude that Mundine was meant to fight stateside a year ago....

Yeah, as a Pavlik fan I don't really know what to say about this.

He isn't making it easy...
