View Full Version : Fernando Vargas at MiddleWeight BBFM 03-13-2005, 08:24 PM is this bad? I just read the interview and he wants to stay at middle weight.. wtf? I mean sure he feels better but they hit harder. What do you guys think. RwK 03-13-2005, 08:28 PM Question number 1: Has Vargas completely healed form his back injury? This may affect his mobility, and certainly; with the extra weight he carries at middle. Question number 2: Will his chin hold up with the bigger punchers? Vargas is a warrior: that is given. His chin is suspect though. Question number 3 Is this the right business decision for Vargas? or should he try his chances at 147? Certainly a better crop of money fights in that division. IMO, he should try his hand at 154, or 147. That being said. I would not like to see him hurt his career. He is like Gatti, in that he brings excitement to the sport. He faces a tough test in Joval, but He should win: If he is to regain his winning ways. BBFM 03-13-2005, 08:30 PM 147 is to hard i dont think hes ever thought about that weight. just 160 is tought ****. he wants trinidad though so thats good to watch agian if hes recovered and feels good. IwatchBoxing 03-13-2005, 08:33 PM Vargas can beat Taylor, he has a good chance at middleweight, but he would have to face Trinidad again, which is bad news for him, unless Tito moves up to face Lacy, which means he could carry a belt for some time, his plan should be "stay the f##k away from Tito, and you'll be allright". joeboxer 03-13-2005, 08:35 PM If you have followed his career closly you would know that it isn't really about good idea/bad idea. 154 is no longer possible for him and 147 no way in hell. He had an egg and a half bottle of Nyquil a day, for three days last time he tried to go to 154. He is going to have enough trouble making 160. Still good luck to him, I think if got Oscar in a rematch at 160, he would definitly be the favorite. RwK 03-13-2005, 08:38 PM He is going to have enough trouble making 160.. Primarly due to him blowing up from back problems. he fought at 154 and less for a really long time. he started his career at 147, and only had around 3 fights at that weight. then started slowly packing them on. One by One. BBFM 03-13-2005, 08:39 PM I know that joeboxer. im just saying middleweight = taylor, felixsturm, winkywright, bhops, eastman who else is at middle weight. lol BBFM 03-13-2005, 08:40 PM I guess well see in two weeks. Im excited for his comeback i was just wondering what you pros thought. |
