I feel like a idiot for asking this because I dont know how to do it. I also feel like a idiot because I know that most of you dont like Floyd anyway but theres a article on Boxing Talk right now that has 2 parts to it and I was wondering could someone make a thread about it and bring it over here because I dont know how to do that. It is free right now.

I want to do it because he has said alot of things in it that I have said on here about him and other things.

Thanks, I hope

yeah that seems pretty stupid. how do you get on a forum and login and everything, but not know how to cut and paste?

You highlight everything with your little arrow thing, that thing you use to point at stuff on the screen with your mouse. Point at the very top of the article and click your left mouse button. Hold that button and go to the end of the article, everything should get highlighted. Now, let go of the left button and click the right button. Press Copy. Come back over here, get to the box where you type in the forum, right click your mouse, click Paste.

Now it is possible ********** won't let its articles be copied. If that's the case, you have to go to the source to copy it. Click View, then Source in your browser window. Find the article, it'll be in there somewhere among all this computer code. Copy and paste from there.

**Post was too long here it is in 2 parts**

Before **********.com was able to get our first question in, undefeated pound for pound Picasso Floyd Mayweather Jr. told **********.com, "An incident took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was not guilty, but I pleaded no contest just so I could get the Gatti fight. When Diego Corrales caught a case I didn't complain or worry, we fought like two champions are supposed to. I'm wondering why Arturo Gatti and his camp worried about what I do outside of the ring? It's not like I'm bringing a gun or kicking anyone inside the ring, I use my hands. When we do get in the ring he's going to think I got a razor in my hand from the way I cut him up! It's going be like my gloves was razors. My thing is this, my team told me if I plead no contest and get everything clear I was going to get the fight with Arturo Gatti." You don't want to miss what else Mayweather had to say in this MUST READ exclusive interview.

"I signed a contract before Arturo Gatti signed a contract. I had already signed the contract."

GL: But why...

FM: (cutting in) "But I'm going to tell you what happened. They offered me a certain amount of money to fight Gatti and I signed it. Then they came back and brought me another contract for less money and I said no, so that's what happened."

GL: And when you say they, you're referring to Top Rank correct?

FM: "I already signed because Bob Arum is my promoter, but then he came back with another contract for less than what he offered me. But we've got more than enough time to promote this fight. This guy's done nothing but duck and dodge me. He's been ducking and dodging me from the begining.

"Oscar De La Hoya has been ducking and dodging for a while now too. Now he's talking about coming down to 147, but I'm trying to figure out, why wouldn't Oscar want to fight a guy that's undefeated? Wouldn't he love to give me my first loss? Oscar De La Hoya has no heart! He's scary and he's a quitter. I saw him quit against Bernard Hopkins and he's lost to some other guys, but I want to put the finishing touches on him and send him out on his face or his back."

GL: Let's try to focus on Gatti for a minute Floyd.

FM: "I don't need to focus on Gatti because that's the easiest work in boxing for me. "

GL: Last week Main Events and Gatti told me the fight was off because you didn't sign by their deadline. However, you're Gatti's mandatory challenger. Do you think Gatti would lose his title before his fights you?

FM: "I think he wants to give me his belt because he damn sure doesn't want to fight. Larry Merchant tried to criticize me from how many fans I had at my last fight, but listen, I could go and do exactly what Arturo Gatti does. I could fight in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in front of the best boxing fans in the world and sell 14,000 tickets. I'll sell it out every month. This guy has been ducking and dodging me for the longest."

GL: Why don't we try to put the Gatti people on the phone with us now?

FM: "Go ahead, put him on the phone."

At this point **********.com conferenced in Gatti's manager Pat Lynch in attempt to put Mayweather and Gatti on the phone at the same time. Lynch didn't pick up but Floyd left the following message on his voice-mail.

---------------

"Yeah Pat Lynch, you know who this is, they call me Pretty Boy Floyd. You can't keep ducking and dodging me the paperwork is done so let's make this happen. Flashy and flamboyant forever, Gatti get ready because on June 11 you're going out on your face or your back, it's your choice so holla back."

--------------

FM: "And that's how we're doing it. I'm telling you these guys is scared of me man I'm a threat to these guys. My dad has been training Oscar De La Hoya and he says he's made him a better fighter, well, quitting's not in my heart. I don't knock my father because he's got to make his living and he's one of the best at what he does, but there's no way his training skills could match my fighting skills, not in a million years. And if my dad was on top of his game and I was on top of my game, I'd beat my father easily. Shane Mosley? He could get it. "

GL: It sounds like if Gatti doesn't want to do this you're got your wishlist all sorted out.

FM: "If Gatti doesn't want to fight I would love to fight Shane Mosley."

GL: I spoke with Vivian Harris earlier and he said you've been ducking an dodging him.

FM: "I'm going to tell you something and I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't even know who he was until I saw him on a Nas video and somebody told him he's a champion. I didn't even know who he was until then. Guys who fight on HBO, Showtime and ESPN are the guys I know of because I seen them fight. I never seen Vivian Harris fight at all. I don't even know who he is.

"And you know this is what's killing me in the fight game. Who has Arturo Gatti beaten to make himself legendary? What? He got punished by Micky Ward, a journeyman? But you know how Gatti is, he just knocked out a guy who was 40 years old. You know how Gatti is, he fights journeyman. I want the champions.

"People say so why did he fight Henry Bruseles then? Well because I was supposed to get Gatti and then the Cotto people sent him in there as a crash dummy to have an idea of what would happen to Cotto. But you know what Henry Bruseles would beat Arturo Gatti. They're not on the same level."

GL: If it's not Gatti will your next fight definitely be a marquee fight?

FM: "I'm trying to fight Oscar man. I'm chasing this man."

GL: Oscar has told me that he wouldn't fight you because your father trains him and he has too much respect for your father.

FM: "I don't talk to my father, what my father does is his own business. But if my daddy got heart, let's see if his training skills can match my boxing skills. I'm already with the best trainer in the world, Roger Mayweather is the best trainer in the world hands down. Roger Mayweather is the reason why I am three time world champion."

GL: As much as you've been talking about becoming a PPV fighter, how disappointing would it be if your next fight doesn't take place against on HBO PPV? "If it doesn't take place it's because he's ducking and dodging me. I'm literally chasing this guy down. It's like with De La Hoya, do I have to go to his crib in Puerto Rico or his crib in L.A.? I got a crib in L.A. too and we could meet somewhere and have a good brunch or something. And then there's ****ty Shane Mosley, you know ****ty Shane Mosley doesn't want no parts of me." Read on to see what one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world had to say.

"Answer me this, didn't they have Roy Jones Jr. rated #1 p4p? Didn't he beat Bernard Hopkins? So how is Hopkins ahead of me p4p then? You should rate pound for pound on how well guys do when switching weight classes. If that's the case I could have stayed at 130 and milked the title for years. Hopkins is 6'2 and he should be fighting at super middleweight."

GL: I'll be honest with you, I rate Bernard Hopkins over you pound for pound because he was a world champion before you even fought at the Olympics and he still hasn't lost.

FM: "Pound for pound has to do with guys who move up in weight. Why do you think Sugar Ray Robinson is known as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the history of boxing? Pound for pound goes by how many different weight classes you could change. You can't rate a fighter pound for pound if he's staying in the same weight class."

GL: I feel you Floyd, but to each his own.

FM: "True champions take chances."

GL: Are you trying to say that Bernard Hopkins is not a true champion?

FM: "I'm not saying that. It's time for him to step up and go to different weight classes. I look at it like this. Oscar De La Hoya gets dropped by a body shot and starts to beat the canvas but he can't get up? Don't beat the canvas, beat the guy that did this to you. And the shot wasn't even hard and then a week later they're partners sitting next to each other at a fight. If you see me at a fight it's sitting next to a female. I don't go to a fight to sit next to a dude."

GL: Floyd I'll be honest with you, I think you've got all the talent in the world and you have all of the tools to become a PPV star, but it's almost like you're a recluse from the media. Usually to become a PPV star you need to deal with the press a lot more often.

FM: "The thing is this, we need more reporters like you that write what they're hearing and what the fighters and people tell them instead of just writing whatever they want to write. Dave Mayo, he's from own hometown and all he's tried to do is tear me down.

"Gatti is scared of me, he was dismantled by Angel Manfredy and I made easy work out of him in two rounds. Guys in this fight game are scared of me and these guys don't want to talk. This is a brutal sport, this is a man's sport. Tennis and golf are for gentleman. This is a sport that is at the bottom of the barrell and you need is a hand game and that's what I got. I got the coldest hand game in boxing and if my frame was big enough to carry 160, believe me, Bernard Hopkins would have been knocked off the block."

"Out of my 33 fights, I'll give you six duds. All the rest of them have been exciting."

GL: What do you think about Cotto's last fight?

FM: "I think he's a good little fighter but they better keep out of my way. Every time he gets hit he gets shook up. I'm known as quick puncher. And what's so crazy about the whole situation with the Cotto fight is this. How are you going to be in a title fight and the dude's from Puerto Rico, the ref is from Puerto Rico and you're fighting in Puerto Rico.

"They shouldn't have stopped the fight. When DeMarcus Corley fought me he went down many times. But as soon as he takes a knee they stopped the fight. There's no way you could tell me Cotto is disciplined when he's coming in as a middleweight. That's no discipline. I weigh in at 140 and I show up the day of the fight at 142. That's discipline."

"I just need to promote myself in the urban area's so a lot of my people could see me fight."

GL: You know my man Damon Dash is really feeling you right now.

FM: "That's my man. Rocawear clothing line is the best clothing line in the world. This man sent me so much Rocawear stuff it's ridiculous. I even got the RocBox, nobody in America got one but he sent me one."

GL: Well you know right now he's into boxing now so maybe he's being extra nice to the flamboyant one waiting for the day that you're a free agent.

FM: "June 11. June 11. Give me under thirty minutes and I'll be a free agent. It's going to be easy work. Quick and easy. Arturo Gatti is a bum. All he ever beat was mediocre fighters. He beat journeyman. He's never beaten a top fighter. He got in there with De La Hoya, got dismantled. Got in ther with Angel Manfredy, got dismantled. Ivan Robinson punished him twice. Micky Ward punished him and left his face all swollen."

"I got heart, and I'm not worried about nothing Gatti could do. I'm going to Atlantic City. We could have brought this fight to Vegas, but I'm going to Atlantic City on his turf and take over in the ring."

"But the main story is this, after I'm done with Gatti, Oscar De La Hoya needs to stop ducking me."

GL: Floyd, you mentioned fighting Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley at welterweight. What about your friend, the undisputed welterweight champ Zab Judah?

FM: "Zab is my friend and like anybody would say in the fight game, he feels he's the best I feel I'm the best. But I done proven myself over and over again. And I want you to know that I called Kostya Tszyu out before he even had the chance to call me out. But with Gatti all I need to know is, will he fight or will they mail me the belt? You know I'm accustomed to collecting WBC belts, it's just what I do."

"If Gatti decides to fight he better do some sit-ups and make sure his stomach looks like mine because I know he can't take it to the body. I know he can't it to the body."

GL: Did you know Buddy McGirt said he has the formula for Gatti to beat you?

FM: "Buddy McGirt better realize this, the same way Pernell Whitaker did him is how I'm going to do Gatti, only it's going to be worse. I'm the Pernell Whitaker of the 21st century, plus I got power. I'm a doctor and I'm going to be a doctor on June 11. I'm going to open Gatti up and then another doctor is going to close him up!"

but there's no way his training skills could match my fighting skills, not in a million years.

I haven't gone on there much at all since they charge for most of the ****. These boxers should be asking for a cut of that subscription money.

It was just about everything he said. The comment about Mosley, and his attitude towards Gatti. Gatti does NOT duck anybody, and for him to keep accusing him of doing so is crazy..and he acts like there is absolutely nothing to worry about if he fights Gatti! I realize he is slick, and I've posted already, on other threads, that Gatti will probably lose, but if he were to catch him on the ropes and open up on him...well, who knows?? I know they like to brag and all that, but putting the other fighter down that way isnt necessary! He apparently has no respect for anyone but himself. The tickets that would be sold for this fight will be because of Gatti, and Floyds a fool if he thinks otherwise. Sure, plenty of Mayweather fans will be there, but even more Gatti fans will be too!

The tickets that would be sold for this fight will be because of Gatti, and Floyds a fool if he thinks otherwise. Sure, plenty of Mayweather fans will be there, but even more Gatti fans will be too!

I always said that the day Mayweather loses its going to be really bad for him. He's got some crazy skills, but he's very arrogant.

Very true! The day he accuses Gatti of backing out, and then tries to act like he can sell out an auditorium..man, thats just too much for me! Way too many people are bored of him and his style..one thing Ive never heard said about Gatti is that he is boring!

OMG you Gatti fans seriously need to wake up. Gatti was so obviously trying to avoid the Mayweather fight because he knows his run is about over. Watch, Gatti'll have this fight postponed. I'll be shocked if it happens June 25th, if at all. Gatti is about to get injured. Remember everyone, Masterdirector said it before it happened.

And I don't feel bad at all about that post being here from **********. They shouldn't charge subscription fees at all because they're not giving boxers any of that money. Therefore, they're exploiting the boxers for personal gain just like promoters.

MasterDirector, why on Earth would you berate Gatti the way you have done? I'm not his biggest fan, nor Mayweather's, but to call Gatti a ****** is ridiculously childish. I thought you were better than that.

Let me make some points:

1) Mosley is past his prime and his mentality is totally distraught. I could see Mayweather beating him, but Shane is so big, and would not be hurt by Floyd AT ALL. Shane could KO Floyd with shocking ease, but we don't know just how shot Shane is.

2) Floyd and Roy are not comparable when speaking of their repsect for other opponents. Floyd disrespects all opponents with his mouth; Roy rarely did this.

3) Buddy McGirt is a little too full of himself, so if Gatti loses, I would be happy that McGirt was stuck with his own foot in his mouth.

4) Mayweather talks big, but he also fights big. However, it remaines to be seen how angry Gatti will fight and if Mayweather will be able to deal with it. Gatti could seriously hurt Mayweather as he will be coming into the fight at around 155-160 and Mayweather will be at 141-144.

He did lose already, the first fight versus Castillo. We didn't get the full effect though because the judges totally blew the call. Merchant asked him if he thought he won though most people didn't but he just said he did and didn't say too much more, except that his his shoulder was messed up.

Aww, how sweet! Thanks ever so much for the bad karma...I really, really appreciate it

It's kind of weird but I always forget that Mayweather lost a fight already. However, I think the reason I forget is because he completely handled the rematch. That leads me to believe that his shoulder really was hurt in the first fight, but he still lost and ran most of the time.

I seriously dont think that guy who fought DLH would be afraid of Floyd. His management might be, but I dont think that they are.
Its one thing, for a management, ofcourse to be afraid of total decapacitation from hands of Tszyu and totally another to be afraid to get outboxed by Mayweather. IMO though, Gatti is not afraid to fight anybody.

I agree, and posted something similar a few days back. If he wasnt afraid to fight DLH, who hits harder then Floyd, then why on earth would he be afraid to fight Floyd? Just does not make sense!

That was a totaly different situation. DLH brings more money to the table then you would ever make in your life so every guy wants to fight Oscar, even the guys who dont think they can beat him. Gatti wasnt nothing special to the casual fan then and had nothing to lose.

But now Gatti is a champ who makes alot of money and can draw big crowds. He has everything to lose and he knows that Floyd can destroy all of that

Destroy? See, I dont look at it that way cause I'll still be a Gatti fan if he lost to Floyd. My main point was that he wasnt afraid of DLH being able to hurt him, so why would he be afraid of Floyd hurting him. We're talking two different issues here..one is pain, and the other is money/fan followship, etc.

The guy that fought DLH? You meaning Gatti? He isn't the same guy that fought DLH. Back then, he had nothing at all to lose. Now he's got name recognition and any loss takes away from his psuedo-credibility that HBO has built up for him. Just like Wlad. As soon as Wlad was knocked out in 2 rounds by Sanders, every shred of credibility he had pretty much went out the window. HBO quickly back-peddled and started calling Vitali the better of the two Klitschkos.

A loss hurts. Especially Gatti. Tyson's credibility is hurt because he lost to f'n Danny Williams. You think Gatti losing to Mayweather won't hurt his...marketability? Yeah maybe Gatti will keep his hardcore fans but will he keep his casual fans? No. You gotta remember, the promoters don't cater to the hardcore fans, they already have us regardless.

And Castillo did not beat Floyd. Mayweather clearly won both fights. It was obvious, even though it was close in that first fight, no doubt. Mayweather was all screwed up. He'd had all sorts of trouble for years with his hands breaking. That was what happened there.

Imagine having a broken hand and having a guy come at you with two good hands. It wouldn't have mattered who the opponent was, it would've made Mayweather look bad that night. But he still outpointed Castillo. He stayed in control of the fight, sticking Castillo with that jab, fairly his only useful punch with the broken hand.

Also, Castillo came in upwards of 150 both times when he fought Floyd. Mayweather was still right around the mid-130s. So he was fighting a guy basically 2 to 3 weight classes above him. This is more reason that I think Floyd would be fine against Mosley now. He wouldn't get destroyed like everybody thinks.

2) Floyd and Roy are not comparable when speaking of their repsect for other opponents. Floyd disrespects all opponents with his mouth; Roy rarely did this.

Your point? Floyd also beat all his opponents. So yeah. And how has Floyd been disrespectful toward all his opponents? Give me exact quotes. He's been more disrespectful to Gatti than anybody. One of the things I kept waiting for was for him to be more arrogant. Don't mistake arrogance for confidence. In the past, Mayweather mostly said he was better than his opponents and he'd beat them because he was more skilled. So? That isn't disrespectful. It is truthful. His comments against Gatti are definitely disrespectful. And I'm glad he said it all. I like him even more for saying it.

Actually the loss to PBF wont hurt Gatti as much as you say. He already got seven of them and one more against world class opponent is not gonna do much to his credibility. He is already an underdog walking into this match. Most of his fans understand that he is a brave worrior unafraid of challenge but nothing more and they wont stop being his fans if Gatti losses. These people know his limitations, Gatti knows his limitations even HBO knows his limitations.

I dont think Gatti would lose any fans with a loss to Mayweather. Funny thing is, I never said that Castillo beat Mayweather..and I know it's difficult to win a fight with a broken hand cause Gatti has had to do just that twice (one of the many reasons he's so well liked)

yeah tracy funny cause I didn't say that you said castillo beat Mayweather. This topic, nor boxingscene, does not revolve around you. I respond to other peoples' comments as well. Don't be so tracy-centric. It is very childish.

Gatti's only loss since becoming popular is against Ward. And that's the loss that made him famous. That is why a loss would hurt him now. He's seen by the general public as a good fighter, even though he's not very good. Let's watch him lose to Mayweather and see Gatti's stock soar. Casual fans and fans of people like Gatti get sick of seeing Gatti lose. Mayweather would slow down the Gatti train. I didn't say he'd lose all his fans, but he'd lose a lot. Then another loss or two and he'd be very hard to market.

Let Gatti lose to Vivian Harris or Junior Witter and watch that stock really soar high.
