knew he would get the biggest suspension because he was the culptrit of the biggest eambarrasment professional sports has ever known.... Although somewhere Ron Artest is certainly celebrating right now and I'll bet his album goes double platinum too.... And he's gonna laugh all the way to the bank....

acquitted

I dont get the point of this comment? 99% of everyone involved, players and fans alike, were black. Ben Wallace in my opinion started the whole thing, kept instigating and got away clean with only a 6 day suspension. Artest is the fallguy because of his reputation, but he was a moron to charge into the crowd like that because the idiot started beating up the wrong fan. A regualr guy who had nothing to do with it caught a beating and I can assure that the NBA is doing all of this to get ready for the hundreds of expected lawsuits.

Infamouz....

No matter how many albums Artest sells (he won't sell many because I'm sure his **** blows).....he won't make as much money as he's losing by being suspended for the rest of the year.

Leave it up to this racist idiot to excuse the actions of these bozos.

The fans were pigs, & deserve whatever they get.....don't know how this is a racial issue, but I guess with loudmouth morons like ACQUITTED putting his half-a-cent in here.....you're gonna have stuff go downhill.

You are a loser, acquitted.

I know. Just like when the police wanted to prosecute those black guys who pulled Reginald Denny out of his truck during the LA riots and smashed his skull with a brick. The man always finds a way to pull the black man down.

Oh yeah, I saw all that craziness after the game last night on ESPN and I was thinking the same thing; that poor guy in the black shirt with the glasses on will be the one laughing all the way to the bank, not necessairly Artest! It was crazy for him to attack the fan...dont they basically pay his yearly salary?? I dont watch b-ball, so I could be way off the mark...I'm a football and boxing type of girl, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! :o

No, your pretty much right. The fans do pay the guys salary. He would make more from endorsements but no one wanted his crazy ass endorsing any of their products before this incedent and they certainly wont after it. Hope his new rap album does well! LOL!

Yeah right! Ben Wallace started the fight with Artest but he felt that he was wronged at a rather unimportant juncture of the game. When have you ever seen or known Ben Wallace to blow his top like that? He may have started the confrontation but he sure as hell calmed down after awhile. He clearly was angry but calmed himself down in order to not promote further fighting. If the fight had ended with the players/refs/coaches sorting it out themselves on the floor, everything would have been fine...Wallace would have served a game suspension and possibly a fine. Had Ben Wallace gone into the stands and started throwing punches there would be multiple Pacers players in the hospital right now...but he didn't. Ben Wallace got longer suspension because of the idiot fans and idiot Pacers players. Free Ben Wallace.

I agree with you, Ben Wallace should be charged more than a 6-game suspension! Just imagine had it been Wallace who got suspended for the rest of the season, where will the Pistons go?

As much as I think those fans were way out of line, and they really pissed me off, Artest should not have done what he did. ALthough I don't blame him too much. Stern did the right thing by banning him for the entire season to make sure such things never happen again. BUt he should address the stupidity of the fans as well. If you're stupid enough to threaten gigantic super athletes, you don't get to come watch the games.

The Pacers still make the playoffs. They won six of their first nine with half their team injured. When Reggie and Jeff Foster and Jamal Tinsley are well, and after 25 and 30 games when Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson return, they're one of the best teams in the league. They'll win 40+ games.

IMO....

If nothing happens with Artest & the fans AFTER Wallace pushed him....the most Wallace would have been suspended for, would be two games- TOPS.

But....because Artest, an all time mental reject, & some trashy fans did what they did....Wallace gets SIX games ?

That's BULL****.

Wallace did not cause the ESCALATION of it all. He should be punished strictly on what he did, not what followed, & that's all.

Exactly. Artest got what he deserved but those fans were pathetic. They think that just because they are fans they are untouchable? Well, the athletes are human too and will react when provoked. There needs to be cooperation on both sides.

Does anybody here think Jermaine O' Neal should've gotten the same exact days of suspension as Artest? I think so, hell he ended up putting his paws on more fans than Artest.

this is bull****, suspending Wallace because he made Artest mad enough to go into the stands and dust a fan makes about as much sense as a guy beating up his wife because her dad said something or did something that pissed him off. If Artest can't control his anger, how the **** is that Wallace's fault? If i were to stab my neighbor in the face because someone else gave me the finger and went to court and used " this (other) person pissed me off as a defense i'd be siting next to Ike Ibeabuchi for a long ****ing time. Wallace is not responsible for Artest punching a fan, ARTEST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARTEST PUNCHING A FAN

Do you want to have a bet? Name anything whatever price there is, i'll bet against your bet. IT'S TOO EARLY TO TELL, BUT MY CRYSTAL BALL TELLS ME THAT YOUR TEAM WON'T MAKE IT AGAIN IN THE FINALS OF THE NBA THIS SEASON.
