4. DON’T THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT YOUR FIGHT.STUDY HIS WEAKNESS.THINK THAT YOU CAN BEAT HIM.
5. ELIMINATE EXERCISES. BEFORE THE EVENT, GIVE 7 MONTHS OF CAREFULL EXERCISES. 6 MOS. OF HEAVY REHEARSAL BUT ON THE 7th SLOWDOWN YOUR PRACTICES/SPARRING SESSION. AVOID HEAVY SPARRING IN THE LAST 8th DAY. JUST TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL BODY DISCOMFORT.

BE SMART IN THE FIGHT .DON’T BE LIKE THOSE BOXERS WHO GAVE THEIR 100% POWER BUT YET UNTIL 5 OR 6th ROUNDS ONLY .THEN WEAKENING…..

THE REST OF MY TIPS ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL. I COULD TEACH THEM BUT SAD TO SAY THAT THIS AIN’T FOR FREE.
THIS IS TRUE & SERIOUS,STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.I’M NOT BOASTING NOR SPEAKING NONSENSE.

You have to some interesting ideas in there...But word of advice you might want to post that in the training/nutrition thread, because this thread is just to talk about boxing, not actually boxing and talking about it..

That was good but every person has a different training method and different gameplan

some might start slow, some might come blasting out of their corners

Can you explain that in detail, and physiologically why?

DLH had sex 20 minutes before several of his fights.

I read that in playboy. I personally think it is a myth,

how does Phacking effect your boxing performance? thats retarded.

I need some advice.. Everytime i spar with my friends, and even if i been hit with a light punch in the head, i get dizzy very quicly.. I dont know why.. is it because i dont have enough sleep or is it because i workout too much? my average sleep is 6 hours a day..

You have a glass jaw. Simple as that.
When I first started sparring with my friends,
it was hilarious. With headgear on, I would let them load up on
punches directly on my chin. No budge. I would not even blink. My buddy Cilo weighs 245 lbs of mostly muscle. Im 175 like a rail, and his punches had no effect on my face.
It depends on weither or not you can take a punch. Its mental,
and might be a combination of fear, and ring anxiety, and
the glass jaw.

Try relaxation methods before sparring,

or try and not get hit.

there is no way to make yourself immune to the effects of punches.

I was not trying to insult you.

Either you can take a punch, or you cant.

I am the other way around. Punches to my head do not affect me

nearly as much as ones to my solarplexus.

I hate that friggin punch. Right to the center of the chest.

There is no solution.

Either you can take a punch, or you can not.

You can strengthen your neck muscles,

keep your chin down when fighting, and that is it.

This is a joke. It is no wonder why Tye has stamina problems.

might sound gay:

do YOGA.

it is the best way to increase flexibility and agility. By Far.

Jumping rope helps as well.

oh yeah:

and stop lifting weights. It is a waste of time.

work on cardio, do pushups, situps, etc.

no freeweights. They make you bulky, and slow. Your natural

strength is inside of you,

and you only increase that "boxing strength" minimally.

You know you may not have a glass jaw. You may be just fighting a fight where you're scared to get hit and you keep thinking of ways to not get hit so much that when you get hit you can't take it mentally and your body reacts from that. Go in there with your mindset on catching some shots but returning even better ones....you don't have a glass jaw, kid...You have a good chin...

Truer words have never been said about boxing and weightlifting. Why a professional boxer would ever pick up a free weight is completely beyond me.

Emmanuel Steward seems to think Lifting weights is meaningless for a fighter. I agree.

You do not develop boxing muscles by using freeweights. You need long, loose, slow twitch muscle fiber. Not Fast twitch.

in other words. Built like Boom Boom is in my avatar.

Yup.
I suppose he acquired Tye when he had already started the weight lifting career. And I think it would be hard to tell someone that big what to do. IMO.

you had said that you recently started boxing. I had the same problem with slight headaches and such after boxing. Its just part of the process of growing as a fighter. In a few months it wont be bothering you and in time you will just walk right through the shots. occasional headaches are common but common headaches are not after youve been exposed to it for a while..........Rockin'

Learning to reserve your energy is something that comes with time and experience. The more you fight the more relaxed that you will become and the more energy you will conserve. For the first 5-10 fights alot of a fighters energy will be lost before the fight even begins from being nervous and tight. s a fighter grows he will learn to relax and therefore conserve and sustain energy longer in a fight. You can do what ever training methods and quick cures that you want but until you learn to relax you will be wasting massive amounts of energy.......Rockin'

Im not sure how i understand that getting stronger is a bad thing. you can lift weights without gaining mass and size. alot of women tend to not work out b/c they think they will look like a bodybuilder. you know....its hard to gain that much muscle and if you can make those kind of gains that easily i think you should go in to bodybuilding. throwing in some deadlifts, squats, and bench, isn't gonna do anythign but help.

Your right about the weight it wount hurt you as a fighter. I have always been a thin framed person, always have and always will be. I had a weight lifting class in Highschool for the last 4 semesters I believe of my time there. We worked on weights mon, wed, fri and on tues and thurs we ran and played some sport or another. We did squats, curls benches and everything they had in the weight room.

What it did for me was cut me up til I was lookin' really good, not massive but lean and cut. In the ring I enjoyed a good amount of success with what the weights were doing for me. I started stopping people more at that time, not because I was so strong and powerfull, but a conbination between better skill and being in better over all shape.

I was fighting at 139-147 during the time of the classes. My final max for bench was 230 and my final max for squat was 315 or 320. The football guys couldnt believe it in the class. Here was a skinny legged kid weighing sometimes 70-90lbs lighter than they were putting up as much or more than many of them. My teacher would always come over and say, "Am I going to have to test you?", meaning steroids or something.

A good weight workout will help you, but donot do what these muscle heads do in trying to bulk up and get huge. Just get strong. One of the easiest fights that I ever had was against a guy that was so muscle bound. I remember coming up to the ring and just about ****ting my pants when I saw how big this guy was. I was like 16 or 17 and he was 23 or 24. I busted him bad. Big muscles do not mean that you can fight, skill is what determines that..............Rockin'
