After what I saw last night, I know Marquez's footwork is much much slower then Pacquiaos but I don't think Pacquiaos fast feet and fast hands is enough to beat Floyd. Floyd is one of the most boring boxers on the god damn planet because he is never willing to take risks. Stylistically I think Pacquiaos footwork and quick hands will give Cotto fits and will probably decision Cotto if not late stoppage. But Mayweather, that boring ****er will decision Pacman in a borefest.

I want to know what you pinoys think about Pacquiao/Floyd? I think Floyd should actually start fighting top WW's for once.

It's up to Roach to devise a plan and look for his weakness...as for now....Pac may have a hard time with Cotto.

I don't want to look past Cotto too much, but if Pac does his job and gets past Miguel...yeah....Pac vs. Mayweather will probably happen next. Roach told Brian Kenny in an interview that they would try to go Floyd's body and Brian responded that many have tried. Floyd definitely has one of the greatest defenses boxing has ever seen. He'll be seeing a different kind of southpaw with Pacquiao. I think this fight would go to a UD. I'm hoping Roach and Co. can figure something out. We know both fighters are supersonic.

a couple of thoughts on this potential megafight:

1) when PAC makes floyd agree to a catchweight, it will be more than $300K per pound...i dont think floyd even tried to make 144...it looked like floyd was a good 155+ last night

2) JMM's limit is 135...that looked NOTHING at all like the marquez we've seen in the lower weight classes...he was out of his league physically

3) JMM is a HOF fighter, PAC is an ATG....a floyd fight will highlight that difference

4) southpaw stance and a style that noone else has is always an advantage...JMM is a textbook, conventional fighter

5) by 2010, that will have given PAC about a year or so in fighting at 140+...

floyd looked good...he would be the favorite in that fight...i can see him winning on points but i'm not counting PAC out....

but first and foremost, its Cotto....lets see how he looks in november

I'm a fan of Cotto and Pacquiaos but I think this fight currently is favoring Pacquiao unless Cottos timing beats Pacquiaos speed and I don't see that happening. I don't think Cotto has fought anyone with Pacs speed or footwork before all in one fighter. Not only that, Pacs pretty good at timing aswell. They both are, and as of right now I think I'm seeing it 70/30 in favor for Pacquiao.

we'll have to see how he does against cotto.

pacquiao being a southpaw and faster and younger gives him a better chance than most though.

we'll see how he handles a welterweight with similar size and strength as floyd in cotto.

if pac can't hurt cotto , it's safe to say he can't hurt floyd.

if pac does cotto like hatton......floyd re-retires.

props to floyd for showing that hes the most skilled fighter today. but, he beat a lightweight who moved up to welter looking fat, weak and slow. that win doesnt mean that floyd easily beats pac, cotto and shane. he cant even knockout an old lightweight :Flush:

I agree....If Pac Hattonized Cotto, Floyd would demand a 60:40 or 70:30 split with Pac in his favor just so the fight wont happen

JMM looked awfully slow last night plus the 5 inch disadvantaged, i knew 100% he would lose.....

Pac's style and southpaw stance could neutralize Floyd but I would like to see Pac fight cotto first

imho its two months before PAC-Cotto, Manny's and his team's full attention should be place there first...

on the question, I am sure PAC will do a lot better than marquez verus PBF but would wait to see result of PAC-Cotto on how MUCH better it will be ...

I need to see PAC first vs a top welter like cotto...
