vinnie7731 09-20-2009, 08:53 AM did anyone watch ufc 103 and wana talk about it?
cropcop is washed up
franklin got smashed by vitor, but i knew that was gonna happen, although it didnt look like the punch that initially dropped him was that hard.
franca looked like crap and that was his worst performance???wtf
trigg probably could have kept fighting and it was possibly an early stoppage. kos looks much better each time out
who thinks vitor can take out silva??
i would love to see it happen. silva is more technical, but vitor has the speed. would be a good fight and i think vitor has a great shot at the title.
Nodogoshi 09-20-2009, 07:30 PM I caught some of the event including the last 2 fights.
My two thoughts on the event are that Crocop is officially shot and Vitor's comeback is officially complete. Vitor is for real, and I now believe the rumors which have come out of his training camps.

yeah, crop cop doesnt look the same as he did in pride. i dont know if his age has caught up with him or what but he has gone down hill lately.
i had a feeling vitor would pull off the ko.
how do you think he would do against silva
i think he has a decent shot, but anderson is just so technical
has andersons chin been really tested since he has been in the ufc?

I read this interview on another site (pretty sure it's a translation from Croat).
I think this lays it out pretty plainly that he is no longer the fighter he once was, both physically and mentally.
I think it's time to bid farewell and thanks for the memories.
Its obvius your far from a champion form?
- Maybe those who say i'm for old metal scrap yard are right. Its obvius i cant break the psychological barrier in the octagon. In addition there is 20 years of spartanic training behind me, its come to some fatigue. Years have caught up to me, "i'm eaten by saturation" (hes a bit fed up).
What exactly happend at to stoppage in the 3rd round?
- Dos Santos hit me with hes fist in the eye and slashed my eyelid. Blood and sweet compliantly blurred my sight field, i stood like a blind man in the cage. In one moment at the end of the fight i confused the referee and the opponent. Later on it was reviled that the inside from my eyelid broke from the punch.
In the locker room I got four stitches.
Did you on surrender on your own or was it the referees initiative?
- No, i didnt give up, nor did i asked the referee to stop it. It was hes call.
Did the refree stop the fight prematurle ?
- It dosnt matter, i would have lost on points regardless.
Did Dos Santos surprise u with hes aggressiveness and strength?
- Simply, hes younger, hungrier, more motivated. He wanted to win more.
The blood on Santos face shows that you were not completely harmless?
I broke hes arcade, several times I hit well, but overall speaking, it was my failure.
Where did that lethal HK vanish?
The surface was slippery as glass. A couple of times i almost landed on my butt trying to do the high-kick.
However, thats no alibi. That was not a performance people would buy tickets for.
So what did hinder you in Dallas?
The hunger for wining is missing. I became a "ziheras" (some who only does safe things. dose not take risks) , i'm not wiling to risk anymore. I thank everyone who supported me, all who cheered for me and everyone who helped me to prepare for a duel against Dos Santos. I'm sorry I have disappointed them.
These sound like farewell words from ultimate fight?
For two decades, I feel like i'm on military time. Every morning i get up at 6 and i dont stop with sportactivities till night.
I wishing some civilian life. I enter the cage, and i'm thinking of fishing in Privlaca. You cant win that way
If this was your last fight in his career?
- Maybe I should have said my goodbyes in 2006, after I won the Pride Grand Prix ...
phallus 09-20-2009, 08:02 PM yeah, i watched it. man it was awesome to see vitor come back with a win, vitor was one of my favorite fighters when i first started watching UFC. it looked like frankiln puked when vitor hit him on the back of the head
the rest of the fights weren't that good, it's sad to see cro cop is shot but nobody stays on top for ever
Punch Me 09-20-2009, 08:11 PM Goddamnit, I wanted to see more of Vitor to see if he's really good. Now he just caught Rich on the back of the head and that was it. A legitimate KO, but ... you know.
Tyson Griffin keeps improving, he's ultra-technical, very impressive.
Crocop and Trigg can't fight at the level of the UFC anymore.
Marin Kampmann shouldn't just stand there and exchange with the muay thai beast that is Daley. The referee saved his ass.
Drew McFedries looked out of place, bad night for him.
Jim Miller is a beast. Nik Lentz and Rafael Dos Anjos fought smartly.

It was sort of a vintage Vitor performance though. He's built a reputation of blowing people out.

yeah, it would have been nice to see it go into the later rounds to see how both fighters would have done. though i still think vitor would have won.
vitor is a solid striker and it should be a good fight for anderson.
i think the trigg fight was a bit of an early stoppage. it should have gone a few more minutes. though ultimatly kos would have won anyway i think. the ufc should have given trigg an easier comeback fight. kos is no joke and gets better each time out.
crocop-the interview post above said it all right from his mouth.....i should have stopped fighting after the 2006 grand prix. i guess he just doesnt have the drive to fight/train anymore. too bad he's likely to go out on a bad note if this isnt going to be it for him.

i thought trigg was an early stoppage but he wasn't intelligently defending himself, just taking josh's punches
Punch Me 09-20-2009, 09:53 PM Come on, guys, Kos was holding his head and punching away HARD, and he was just there doing nothing.
There was no way in hell he could've beat Koscheck, he got setup to lose :-D
PowerpuG 09-21-2009, 10:27 AM i saw it when i got home after the pbf/jmm.. (i got a site if anyone needs it, tho i doubt its still up)... is it me or did vitor look a little "lyotoish"? i saw pics of them training together a few weeks ago....hmmmm
ABOSWORTH 09-21-2009, 11:07 AM I haven't seen it yet. No way I was watching this over the Mayweather vs. Marquez card. My buddy recorded it so I'll see it soon though. I'm glad to hear Koscheck won. I really like that guy.
Konstantin 09-21-2009, 02:22 PM I don't know if Vitor is back... He didn't land a punch of significance until Rich was down with his hands on the floor. It was to short of a fight to tell, it didn't get out of the feeling out stage.

Koscheck didn't win, he destroyed Trigg who for some unkown reason turned his back on Kos and then gets KO'd

PowerpuG 09-21-2009, 04:08 PM yes, vitor's stance was like lyoto,
glad someone else noticed.. wish it lasted longer to see if he adopted lyotos style..the stance was dead on and he kept waiting for rich
Nodogoshi 09-21-2009, 04:11 PM yes, vitor's stance was like lyoto,
He was working on shotokan with the Machidas.
phallus 09-21-2009, 10:46 PM Koscheck didn't win, he destroyed Trigg who for some unkown reason turned his back on Kos and then gets KO'd
before the fight Kos said
" frank trigg is good at two things: giving up his back and tapping out "
SalSanchez 09-22-2009, 08:06 AM LOL @ Vitor's so called comeback :rofl: just wait in his next fight I'm pretty sure he's going to disappoint a lot of fans Vitor is the Zab Judah of MMA.He has the talent but he lacks the heart.
musiol 09-22-2009, 08:14 AM how difffrent does belfour body look now slightly saggy and tiny in size compared to how he looked before.
