Don't know the cost, though. Soundtraveler 03-11-2005, 02:04 PM Doesn't the British Museum own it? Don't know the cost, though. No, sorry - nice try though! Bombardier 03-11-2005, 02:15 PM I used Google to get the real answer, but since that's kind of cheating I won't answer again. Pretty hilarious, though. {BrownBomber} 03-11-2005, 02:16 PM Bill Gates?? Soundtraveler 03-11-2005, 02:19 PM Bill Gates?? A lot of mula!! Right man, now how much did it cost?! Bombardier 03-11-2005, 02:21 PM On the same topic, does anyone know that Da Vinci wrote backwards (so-called mirror writing) in his notebooks? On a website I found they gave a few theories as to why he did this: - He was attempting to make it more difficult for other people to read his notes and steal his ideas. - He was concealing his scientific ideas from the powerful Roman Catholic Church, whose teachings sometimes disagreed with what Leonardo observed. - Writing left handed from left to right was messy because the ink would smear as his hand moved across it. Leonardo chose to write in reverse because it prevented smudging. He was seriously mentally deranged, possibly schizophrenic, which is why he worked like a maniac yet could rarely finish a project. I will give you points for that added tidbit! Hey, thanks! I have a bit of a fascination with famous crazy people throughout history. You'd probably be surprised (or not) as how many people who shaped history were mentally ill. manila_assasin 03-11-2005, 02:26 PM Billgates ... $30 Million Dollars manila_assasin 03-11-2005, 02:28 PM Newbie BTW. Gates actually paid 30.8 million bucks for a notebook! It sits in his library: Size: 2,100 sq. ft. The ornate, paneled library has a domed reading room with oculus (light well), fireplace, and two secret pivoting bookcases, one containing a bar. It's the fitting home for Leonardo da Vinci's 16th-century notebook, the Codex Leicester, which Gates bought for $30.8 million. 1000000.00 points donated to manila_assasin successfully! I gotta start betting on more fights. You should bet like 200 mil on the Rock to KO Vitali. Just imagine your take if a miracle happens. :) On second thought, save your 200 mil for a better option. I can't wait to see my take on Manny vs Eric, the split decision win will make me a ton more money! Eric by split decision! I will pocket 45 million if my prediction holds true again as it did for Moorer vs Jirov, Cotto vs Bailey, Tarver vs Johnson, Hopkins vs Eastman, I missed the Gatti win by 1 round, the TKO happened in the 6th and I had it in the 7th but oh well I had the winner right... |
