View Full Version : Oscar may have proven that he's a sissy!
So the newsflash was " Oscar De La Hoya is going back down to 147". I thought it was interesting news and kinda excited me at first, because of some of the current crop of young talented welterweights, but in a way it sounds like a sissy move to me. De La Hoya moving back down to do what... Fight a bunch of freakin' kids, I really don't see what it'll prove. Yeah I understand that he's definitely not the same fighter at 160lbs. but outside of Hopkins , the other top draws at 160 and 154 are Trinidad, Wright, and maybe Mosley who are not real middleweights as well and would pose more of a competition for De La Hoya than Cintron, Margarito, Spinks, Judah(lol), Tszyu(maybe, I don't think he should move up to 147, he looks pretty filled out at 140), and Ouma.... it's a f**kin' joke. I mean De La Hoya reminds me of that WB cartoon character who was Bugs Bunny's nemesis he had this famous line everytime Bugs finds a way to outwit him "If you can't beat 'em join 'em" but in De La Hoya's case he makes him join his team. I think DLH should just f**kin' quit, ' cause he has turned into a rip-off artist . I think out of the three(Trinidad, Wright, Mosley) from what I've seen so far Ronald Wright has the best chance of defeating Oscar , for me the jury is still out on Trinidad, I don't necessarily think he'll beat Oscar at 160lbs. because of what he showed against another blown-up welterweight who fought like a freakin' statue in Mayorga...I'd like to see him fight a mover and it would be an interesting fight if he fought Sturm, as far as Mosley, I think Shane has an outside shot or it may just be a repeat of DLH-MOSLEY 2. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.... How bad does Oscar really want it these days, I mean running a Promotional company and fighting against world class athletes. Just focusing on 1 career is already a 24hr. job.

Your missing the f**kin' point here, I mean your obviously not gettin' it . Overall I give props to what Oscar has done w/ his boxing career, I'm just basing it on what is happening now and what he says he's planning to do in the "near" future as far as him being a fighter is concerned. Let me ask you, which would you find more entertaining , Oscar having rematches w/ Mosley and Trinidad, fighting Wright or these f**kin' young ****y punks at 147

Seriously, my little brother is wittier than you. Your cut downs and comebacks are just flat out pathetic and its obvious your about as sensative as a 12 year old school girl considering you jump up and down screaming everytime someone has an opnion other than yours.
Maybe your so quick to attack others as a grown up because your parents didn't show you enough attention when you were a child?

arent you that guy who said that thai fighters have a legacy equivelent to mexican fighters?
when are you going to realize the only Thai fighter people will ever know on this planet is Sagat from street fighter, are you still mad at jose for disgracing you in that argument that you have to refer to him as "poncho"?
vB Martin 11-22-2004, 09:27 PM Oscar at 147. Interesting.
His first fight would be Spinks, which he will win whether he wins it or not. That would be the most boring fight since Golota-Ruiz. Though it would probably be technically perfect.
Then anyone else he fights from the current crop of young welters would just knock him right the **** out.
Oscar has accomplished a lot in his career. Most of it he got on his own, some was handed to him by the WBC because he was seen as "good for boxing". I think he needs to retire now. He has nothing to prove to any of us, and going against the younger, stronger, faster competition currently at Welter will only hurt him and his legacy in the long run.

Lets see, fight the same guys at a blown up weight where you have no power, or realize that your too small at 154lbs. 147lbs has younger, hungrier fighters. Maybe not as much raw talent as a couple of the premere fighters at 154lbs, but enough to give some good fights.
No, lets have him stay at 154lbs and fight the same guys over and over and pretend he is a good middleweight. 154lbs, the elite division that most were driven into on a loss.

proven hes a sissy?
fukin hypacrites
all we heard after he got ko'd by hopkins was
"oscar better wise up and realize he aint one of the big boyz, he needs to be smart and go back to 154 or even 147"
and now hes thinkin of it, or atleast rumoured to be thinking it and now hes a sissy?
got to be fukin kidding me
mic573 11-22-2004, 10:54 PM I think what Oscar is trying to do is go out on top by ruling a division. His best chance to do that is at welterweight. Even though Oscar did start at lightweight he is a natural welterweight who just went up too high and it cost him. I think there is some interesting matchups at 147 for Oscar. Spinks and Margarito are interesting matchups to me and it would unify the division for Oscar if he wins. Kostya Tszyu sounds like he would move up if the money was right. That would be the best fight in my opinion. Tszyu can handle 147 and I think he can give Oscar a great fight maybe even beat him.

Excellent post. My thoughts exactly!
phallus 11-22-2004, 11:30 PM This thread is ****ING STUPID! Oscar is a natural welter, sissy, my ass, he just jumped into deep, deep water and got in over his head. i don't see anyhting wrong with admitting it. Sissy???? **** NO, but he ain't hungry any more
Hurlex 11-22-2004, 11:53 PM F**k i wouldnt mind seeing judah or especially margarito vs DLH...these guys could KO DLH if they ctach him no doubt..and if oscar see's it like you do (just a couple of kids) hes goinf to lose big time by getting KTFO..cuz these "KIDS" are good
oldgringo 11-23-2004, 12:28 AM I concur with everyone who said that this is a retarded thread because, well, it is.
Neuraxis you are killing me with those "get off the stage retard" things. Very funny.
Oscar should just retire because he cannot do any right in the eyes of these idiots. At middle he's dumb because he's out of his element and will get slaughtered by everyone. Surely he's not brave...just stupid.
Now that he's moving down he "may have proven he's a sissy." Get da **** outta here with that ****. Oscar might be the LAST guy on my list of *******. He's done nothing but fight top notch competition HIS WHOLE CAREER. Lets clap it up for this thread...its a real winner.
MrSmith 06-21-2006, 10:25 PM I happened to have been searching for any threads about DLH and I ran into this.
The thread was started about 2yrs. ago. The poster who came up w/ the topic as you can all see was getting bashed all over the place, but if you look at what's happening NOW. I think the poster has a legitimate gripe towards DLH.
I was just reading an article today, here at BoxingScene, it was submitted by AP wire, titled "No Retirement, DLH to fight in '07".
Here were some statements from the article, that were made by Oscar De La Hoya himself...
-DLH said, "the one and only fight for his retirement will be against Floyd Mayweather Jr".-The article also said that a DLH - PBF matchup could have a potential of $40 million for DLH.
-However DLH made it a point, that "Money WOULD NOT BE A FACTOR"
- The article also noted that PBF would have to move from 147 to 154lbs.
See everyone's argument is,is that nothing has been written in stone as to which weightclass this mega-fight will take place, but DLH has been pretty consistent w/ his statements during his recent interviews that he's really looking at 154lbs. and no lower. This makes more sense because DLH has been fighting at 154-160 for years now. His performances may have been lackluster for the most part, but he has settled at this weight and against an undersize guy he has a huge advantage.
Here's another statement from the same article that pretty much says it all about how much he's duckin' WINky.
DLH said, " That the ONLY name I can come up w/ that will satisfy
me to train for 3months & prepare myself is against PBF".
I don't get it DLH seems pretty solid on which weightclass this will take place and that is 154lbs. So 147 I guess would be sapping his strength.
A fight against WINky would be alot more meaningful and will definitely leave any doubts as far as DLH's greatness is concerned. Afterall it's DLH's performances in big-time fights that have many people questioning the "Running Boy".
A fight with WINky will erase all that
What does beating Mayweather jr. do to prove that DLH belongs with the sports all-time greats?
Well I'll tell ya, IT DOESN'T PROVE A F**KIN' THING!
FIGHT WINky sissy!

MrSmith 06-21-2006, 10:33 PM plz, just let this thread rest in peace.I think this thread has alot of significance to what's taking place now.
A strong showing by WINky last Saturday, and the fact that Winky stated that he'll fight anyone between 154-160. he has also beaten 2 of DLH's rivals
This WINky - DLH matchup has more substance and a better storyline, than that cheap soap opera of DLH's trainer against his son.
This is the FIGHT BUSINESS SON, and DLH has never proven he could, unless your last name was Leija, Ruelas, and there's so many overhyped bums I can't remember.
Oh yeah that hell of a fighter MAYORGA

IwatchBoxing 06-21-2006, 10:40 PM I agree, but no one will listen, they call Taylor HBO hype, than call DLH who makes over 20 mill a fight a warrior... :D

boxingfan420 06-22-2006, 03:03 AM HONESTLYT, THE WINKY DLH FIGHT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. Someone has got to beat that guy and no one has. Winky deserves it more than PBF. Maybe Winky can fight BHop on the undercard of DLH PBFfor for say... 10 mill? It could be a superbowl of boxing.
Anyways. We need to make some noise to have the DLH Winky fight happen.
CMON. THIS FIGHT WOULD BE TWO ALL TIME GREATS. Like Foreman and Ali. It could only be one hell of a fight.
I am a DLH fan, been to some of his fights, I think Winks could beat DLH, but DLH could also win. A true test. WINKY, WINKY, WINKY!!! Who'S GONNA BEAT THIS GUY?
realheavyhands 06-22-2006, 03:56 AM oscar beat tito and the juiced up mosely, oscar is natural at 147

hellfire508 06-22-2006, 04:37 AM Worst...thread.... ever!!!!
Kendo 06-22-2006, 01:13 PM the only fight he wants now is PBF no one else. he doesnt want to beat tito again doesnt want to beat mosely again. he doesnt want to fight winky. winky is going to fight taylor again anyway. yes i said he beat tito bc he did and yes i said he beat mosely bc he did in the second fight. all he wants to do is go on to fight PBF than retire. he doesnt want anyone else. buddy who started this thread i will give you the link to ********* so you can refresh yourself every once in awhile and see that he wants only one more fight.
www.*********.com
go there you will see or read some of the other threads you will see that he only wants a PBF fight.
The_Bringer 06-22-2006, 01:15 PM Anybody who has the balls to call Oscar De La Hoya a sissy is clealy delusional and can be therefore immediately discredited.
