View Full Version : About the first episode of TUF 10
Punch Me 09-17-2009, 03:58 PM Ok, so I didn't like Rampage before (I've given reasons) and I don't like him now. He seems to be a douchebag, you know ? Always trying to be clever but rather failing at it. What do you think ?
He also keeps bugging rashad about his only loss against Machida, how irritating. We all know Machida, with his counterstriking, would put Rampage to sleep, read him a story and tuck him in with a blanket, amirite ?
Rashad seems mature as always and cool-headed. Stupid Dana White gets on my nerves trying to stir up trouble when there is none, with: "don't get into a fight, guys" again and again. Tsk tsk.
At the picks, Rampage says he went for size and Rashad for skills and well-rounded fighters. Rampage got to pick the first matchup and in his ultimate stupidity picked the worst possible matchup for his team it seems. Classic wrestler against 1-dimensional untalented "striker" with no takedown skills.
The result was a bloodbath :

P4PGOAT 09-17-2009, 04:23 PM yeah rampage did get on my nerves during the show. but all the stuff between him and rashad may well be staged so i'm not too bothered by anything he said to him.
watching the guys training and sparring was actually pretty painful. not a lot of skill on display. maybe it didn't help that i'd just been watching mayweather training in 24/7.
Punch Me 09-17-2009, 04:45 PM Hehe, yeah, some of those heavyweights are really really sluggish and not as good cardio as they may think. They're in for a rude awakening.

I like Rampage, I guess you just have to enjoy that type of humor. When he talked about Rashard doing some dance that Machida made him do, that was funny.
He likes to get into people's heads, it's part of the fight game. I think he's very charismatic and the reason he's going to be in movies.
About Kimbo, that dude looks great. If you see past videos of Kimbo, he doesn't look anywhere close to being in the shape he is in now. He looks ripped, I mean he always looked muscular but now he looks real lean.
Great show and I have to give it up to the UFC and White for creating something as entertaining as this show.
About the dude that got split open, very poor refereeing. That fight should have been stopped when buckets of blood where pouring out of his head. He ended up with a skull fracture and it could have been something much, much worse. The fight should have been stopped, they shouldn't have let it go that far.
Punch Me 09-17-2009, 06:11 PM Haha, yeah, the Machida dance one was funny !
And yeah, Kimbo looks ultra-ripped !
I forgot to mention the part where Rampage left the fight before the decision was announced and showed no support, at least they didn't show anything afterwards. I really hope he keeps losing and losing, muahahha !

American_Ninja 09-17-2009, 10:44 PM I like Rampage, he's pretty funny at times. Can't stand Pinhead Evans.
That big ex NFL player is in bad shape. He couldn't even do the team workout.
Rampage doesnt seem like the best coach
Nodogoshi 09-17-2009, 11:04 PM I agree, Ramapage's antics definitely got on my nerves a bit. The guy's an absolute ego maniac, which I can't stand.

yeah I initially found Rampage funny, but then again his childish behavior really starts to get old after a while IMO
take how he was constantly poking fun about the "man titties"
how old are we now?

yeah i really hated that bit. it's annoying enough when it's just some guy being a punk. but where he knows he's in a position of authority, and these guys are supposed to be potentially looking up to him, and they are trying to impress the coaches on there first day. just makes it worse
MOREBASS 09-18-2009, 12:48 PM That's how Rampage is though. I'm a huge Rampage fan, but I think he sucks as a coach.
He picked his team blindly almost, only going for the bigger guys who looked stronger. Then he goes and picks the worst matchup possible for his fight guy. Lastly, his commands during the fight were horrible, 'Get up'...'He doin the same thang!'...
What kind of **** is that?
Then he gets pissed and walks out on his fighter.
His team sucks, and I see Team Rashad winning this season, easily.

I gotta add to that he's also a punk for pulling out of the Rashad fight, which the season was intended obviously to hype. Also, I haven't gotten over his literal rampage after the Griffin loss, in which he rammed a pregnant woman's care who later had a miscarriage, and had Dana White specially flew out to California to bail him out of jail. The guy's complete scum imo. I was once a fan.
$ LegenD $ 09-18-2009, 04:15 PM im a rampage fan but after the 1st eposide i agree on two things....the man titties thing got old real fast and his coaching sucks....humor is always good but in the right moments not when we got men trying to impress supposed ufc legend yet he shows no respect to these guys....maybe the editing crew is leaving all that out but hopefully it gets better and we wont see him walk out on a fighter that made me SICK.....come on page
StillUnknown 09-18-2009, 04:46 PM rampage's team might be the first to not win a single match on the show. lol
it wont happen, but the way he picked his team & the first matchup made no sense whatsoever

That's true. For a movie that he will get no recognition, or even that much money to do. He's going to get the fight anyways, and that's probably why he's doing the stupid movie, but still...don't bite the hand that feeds you!

even if it is "how he is" Rampage is in a position of power as a coach, already mentioned but fighters look up to him
sure Quinton has a reputation for being a jokester, but he should can the grade school insults (man titties) even if it is meant light heartedly .. it shouldn't come from a coach is all im saying.
he has shown his suckage as a coach again on this season, by how he picks his fighters, and match ups
however I think Rampage's "get up, he's doing the same thing" was the most intelligent thing he said all episode.
