possibly the dumbest fighter in MMA.

he was comfortably winning the standup, but he just had to shoot in for the takedown.

maybe he hasn't left the cocaine alone

Agreed. Time and time again Melvin has proved one thing. . . all muscle, no brain.

Yeah, he's not cut out for the big time (yet?)

Don't underestimate Nate though, those fights ain' winning themselves. He talks the talk and he walks the walk. (is that how they say it ? lol)

I agree, although I'm definitely not a big fan of the tough boy antics. Promoting a fight or attempting to get a psychological edge (ala Wanderlei Silva) is one thing, but the Diaz brothers take it too far imo.

Everytime he says "I'm gonna bring the whooping" and "gonna whoop some ass" he cracks me up !!!

Guillard is like a B level version of Zab Judah. He has the natural gifts, the speed, the talent and still manages to get beat by guys who don't have half of his talent.(ex: Rich Clementi). He's a waste.

i found it really funny tho. he had the fight won. then he gets ****y and shows off against the cage, lunges at diaz with a big right, misses, gets caught off ballanceand gets choked out. if he woulda stayed serious he could have won the fight. but he thought he could pull a RJJ and knock diaz out

Melvin's got too many fights not to be a black belt in BJJ yet. Everytime I see him fight he loses due to submission. Same goes for Page though he doesn't lose via sub he would be p4p #1 if he got more tech on the ground and standing.

I hope Evans or Jon Jones at least trains BJJ. All that power needs to be met wil some technical brain power.

I actually like the Diaz bros. but I really want to see Nate got ktfo. After that I will root for him again.

What is ILS, dude ? Instrument Landing System ? :thinkerg:

Inflated or Imaginary Lat Syndrome.

ILS is a primal threat/mating display observed in the human male. The ILS display involves the male human holding out it’s arms away from it’s body at approximately a 20-40 degree angle and then walking with a slow deliberate gait in order to look more imposing to other humans.

Guillard is the dumbest MMA fighter in the world, he has the worst submission defence I have ever seen.

lol at Nate Diaz's weak ass striking, he's slow as ****, can't even throw a proper punch and hits like a girl.

Why the hell was Diaz/Guillard the main event?

Maynard/Huerta should've been the main event. Gray Maynard is a beast, his striking has improved big time, he was way faster and sharper than Huerta and was landing the harder, cleaner punches. I scored it 30-27 for Maynard.

disapointing effort from Gulliard

he dropped Diaz with the first heavy shot that landed ... and opened up a pretty nice cut

but man that "playing possum" backfired horribly, as he fell right into that gullotine

ILS???? That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

But his "mean" face does crack me up. Dude will submit anybody in Lightweight though, besides Penn.

it's overconfidence, the same thing that made billy conn stand and trade with joe louis ( the one thing he shouldn't do ) after outboxing him for 10 rounds. when u start dominating u think anything u do will work

ILS was something we said in 9th grade, the fact that you are trying to flaunt by knowing the term and using it twice in a row to get someone to ask you what it means is kind of embarrassing bro. Just saying.

The Diaz brothers are from Stockton, the crime rate there is huge, in order to survive there you have to be flexed (mentally) all the time. They're products of their environments and they train hard. Nate showed this, if not in his technical ability to finish a fight when behind, but with his resiliency. He took the hardest shots that Guillard could throw at him and was only stunned momentarily by one (Which was the first shot he took and for those of us who have been hit a few times in our life, we all know that a fresh head getting whacked for the first time always makes you hazy. After getting smacked around a bit, your real chin comes into play)

All in all, Nate is a tough SOB.

its just the usual guillard performance, show the fans what an explosive fighter u can be, then get submitted.

well guillard is young but hes had so many fights and doesnt seem to have learnt an awful lot. i think a nate diaz with 50 fights under his belt would have learnt alot more, just based on there respective personalities.

on his punching power, his brother, nick diaz does those wierd pitter patter pawing shots and gets stoppages lol. seems crazy, id give nick the edge in power tho, and nate the BJJ :)
