View Full Version : Wladimir Klitschko
Would you consider him a shot fighter? or do you think he can hang
around the division a while longer?
With the lack of depth in the HW division, as well as a lack of good Boxer/Punchers, he stands as good a chance as any heavyweight at winning a title.
I honestly asked myself, who would win? Ruiz or Wladimir Klitschko. I started laughing out loud realizing that he would destroy huggy bear.
!!Captain 03-08-2005, 03:34 PM If he could return to his old self he could be a force. It's only up to him, nobody else.
only in this day and age can a 26 year old guy lose 3 fights, 2 of which he was winning big and lost by fatigue, and be considered washed up.... take into consideration:
- the weak division
- his offensive skills
- his huge size
- his big fan following
- did i mention the weak division?
- his young age
- his legendary trainer
- his amateur experience
i'm not saying he's gonna dominate or anything, but he's far from washed up....
BrooklynBomber 03-08-2005, 03:45 PM Actually he made a huge adjustment in his last fight. Wlad was actually trying to defend himself. IMHO his weakness is not his chin but his ABSOLUTE lack of defense. And I guess Manny is trying to teach him one now. So we should wait and see how he does against his next opponent.
dempseyfire 03-08-2005, 03:48 PM fastest hands in the HW division? Byrd and Toney may not hit as hard as Wlad but they certainly have greater handspeed, as does others like Kirk Johnson (ok, not the fatass who fought Klit but watch his other fights), Maurice Harris, and even Audley Harrison when the guy actually extends himself.
Wlad does have very fast hands for a guy his size, as well as great punching power. But his stamina when he´s fighting a guy who fights back is awful, his chin is pretty poor, and since Sanders his confidence has gone the way of the dinosaurs. I thought he looked terrible against Williamson. Could he win a title in this division? Sure . . .John Ruiz holds a title, doesnt he? But with his chin he wont hold it for long if he ever gets one. Ruiz-Klitschko would be entertaining. I´d tip Ruiz to KO him but Klitschko could pull a knockout himself. Very interesting fight. It would be fun to watch but it´ll never happen.
wlad does have quick hands, i'd put them up there among the quickest in the division...
Torino 03-08-2005, 04:08 PM Wladimir has not proven to have the comeback ability of Lennox Lewis, or the lack of comeback ability of Michael Grant. The story has yet to be written on Wladimir and it could go either way.
One thing is for certain, the former olympic gold medallist - WBO champ has earned the right to find his own destiny. Those who think he's washed up or should retire before the story is over are bias. He is after all, only 28.
dansweeney 03-08-2005, 04:12 PM wlad does have quick hands, i'd put them up there among the quickest in the division...
he is also the quickest in the division in hitting the canvas
It can go either way, he can be ktfo in his next fight ore gain his confidence and get back to be the great boxer he was pre sanders.
As torino said his story is yet to be written.
And has 8-10 before retiring time. I think i hop he`ll be back greater than ever.

We'll see if he's washed up when we see him fight again, and he has by far, the fastest hands in the HW division
i don't know what the hell has happened to him recently. the **** that has been happening to him just doesn't seem natural at all.
i think he can recover and still make a statement in the division, but he needs to find some new training methods.
Kimmy 03-15-2005, 10:35 PM The defence arguement is bul****. Wlad has a soft chin and can be exposed at anytime against a reasonable puncher.
He is an accident waiting to happen and if i were a boxing comission i`d have retired him for his own safety such is the weakness of his chin. Micheal Moorer is Oliver McCall next to Wlad.
Man, i hope Wlad gets KO`d again really soon....
Boxhead2012 03-16-2005, 12:10 AM Better skills than his brother, but lacking in three KEY departments: chin, heart, and stamina.
dcgun 03-16-2005, 02:32 AM Wlad is definitely washed up, how on earth did he even get mentioned as a challenger to Chris Byrd?
TheFairPole 03-16-2005, 06:21 AM Wlad is definitely washed up, how on earth did he even get mentioned as a challenger to Chris Byrd?
UM... Let me think... Cause he beat Byrds ass severely and Byrd is scared ****less to fight him again!
kevvy1979 03-16-2005, 06:43 AM Yeah they offered Byrd more money then what the rock is getting for fighting Vitali.Thats a nice payday to be giving up ,to not try and get revenge on the man that gave you a beating as he did.
Sinatra.Jr 03-17-2005, 07:55 AM Wladimir Klitschko is too speedy and tecknician in this HeavyWeight div.
But he was beated 3times considered by inferior boxers.Indeed grass tin or stamina probrem he has,but this is his destiny or real ability i guess.Sooner or later he would be knocked out by someone underdogs.i don't watch that seen. Therefore he still young,he would better change trainings covering his weakpoints-tin,stamina,heart.i hope eagerness.
