View Full Version : Top 3 Favorite moves?
jack_the_rippuh 03-08-2005, 01:03 PM What are some of your favorite moves done by boxers?
1. "Winky" Wright's cover his face for like a half a second and then throw a lightning quick jab.
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s lead right hand, followed by moving the guy out of the way, or elbowing him away...
3. John Ruiz's punch-punch hug...it always makes me laugh the first few times he does it, then it just gets annoying..
*Honorable mentions:
* Hopkins' feinting and pivoting like he's going on the inside just to make the guy punch and miss..
* "Trinidad is on the mark.."
* Roy Jones' hands-down, head bobbing style...
AintGottaClue 03-08-2005, 01:04 PM then u also must like sturm as number 1 cause they do the same thing ^^
Truth 03-08-2005, 01:07 PM 2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s lead right hand, followed by moving the guy out of the way, or elbowing him away...
I like Floyd's defensive style, he makes his opponents look stupid.
PessimisticPug 03-08-2005, 01:12 PM My three favorite moves
1. any punch working the body
2. The uppercuts that set them on their arses
3. Reaching my hand out to get my check from the promoter.
:boxing: ...Rockin'
Pac's head feint then Left Cross
Judah's slip then uppercut
MAB's Jab then left hook. He looks cool when he lands them both.

I'm talking about when Wright covers his face with the palms (inside) of his gloves.

jack_the_rippuh 03-08-2005, 01:38 PM Anybody a fan of the bolo done by Sugar Ray Leonard?
Truth 03-08-2005, 01:43 PM Anybody a fan of the bolo done by Sugar Ray Leonard?
Ray Leonard was great at that punch and it went along with Ray's flashy style.

It's the one that they kinda-sorta used for Fight Night 2004, Roy rubbed his right forearm with his left glove in a ****ing-motion, twisted his right arm in a big circle, then clocked Ruiz with a telegraphed over-hand-right that was just too fast to avoid. Best punch he ever threw (aside from the KO of Glen Kelly)
Solo322 03-08-2005, 01:53 PM Lead left hooks and uppercuts by Roy Jones
Switching to southpaw to throw a left hook (Fitzsimmons shift?)
flurry to body then head (Tyson)
Bernard Hopkin's walking right uppercut on Tito in the 10th round.

That is kind of arguable,
I think the punches he landed on Toney, where he knocked him down were pretty cool.

Roy pushed Toney after a glancing left hook, it just looked cool because of the HBO camera angle, that should have been ruled a slip

Those punches looked pretty fast. Not to mention, Toney was dizzy and I feel; lost his balance. His vertigo was disrupted by those punches.

definitely one of the cleanest punches you could've landed, I just watched it again and there wasn't a push.
BrooklynBomber 03-08-2005, 04:52 PM This might be unpopular but what about Cotto's Rican Shuffle.
Also that punch Tszyu landed on Mitchell in a third. Right Cross looked mad cool. Like a frggin bullet landed on him.
Super_Lightweight 03-08-2005, 04:53 PM Those are all good, here are some of mine:
1) Roy doing the arm-**** thing vs Ruiz.
2) Roy dipping and slipping punches with his arms down.
3) Floyd and Toney's defense/offense integration.
4) De La Hoya's body-to-head combonations.
5) Kassim Ouma's totally relaxed, enormous offensive output.
6) Winky Wright's defensively aggressive style.

Good ones, here's another I forgot:
Tapia's head-2-body double left hook
Solo322 03-08-2005, 05:12 PM Good ones, here's another I forgot:
Tapia's head-2-body double left hook
triple left uppercut by tyson, two to the body then one to the head.
masterdirector 03-09-2005, 12:36 AM Pernell's behind the back punch, which he not only amazingly landed, but knocked someone out with.
Naseem Hamed's unorthodox inventions...very fun to watch.
Tapia's illegal blow response. IE against Morales. Erik accidentally hit Johnny low ONCE. Tapia did his low blow combination (like 5-6 hits) to Morales, LOL.
neils7147933 04-16-2005, 11:30 AM 1. Riddick Bowe's chicken dance
2. The Zab Judah shuffle
3. Antonio Tarver's pre-fight question
Konstantin 04-16-2005, 12:39 PM Someone has a clip of the Vargas punching Oscar once and DLH coming back with a crazy combination of body and head punches. I thought that was pretty bad ass. Most of the others on here are cool to

Slipx 04-16-2005, 01:48 PM 1.tyson's intimidating double pivot, he'd get respect early and his opponents knew when he pivoted his torso a punch was comin, watch the holmes fight in rd 2 i believe, he does this double left pivot .doesnt even throw a punch,, larry backs up scared ****less
2.david tua's left jab+leaping left hook(ruiz bout)
3.Wlad klitschko's "knockaway" he rarely does this. get his opponent to cover up their head with both hands and knock away his hands with a left tomahawk, then come thru with an overhand right.
4. fitzsimmon shift
