- did u notice jeremy williams as the head cornerman for the west team(gomez)

- did u catch ishe saying early in the show that manfredo was undefeated(21-0) but hadn't fought anyone

- did u notice the head trainer tommy telling stallone that ahmed was as good as anyone, but then as ishe was heckling ahmed sparring, ahmed was getting drilled by his sparring partner

- did gomez look and fight like MAB to you too

- manfredo really is rated #3 by the WBO, ishe #11 by the wba

- did u wonder what jackie kallen(spelling?)was doing?

How dare you dis Rocky's show. He is a former heavyweight champion. We need to give jobs to our former champions by hiring them to programs like these. This way they wont have to fight street fights or arm wrestle for a living. Show some respect for Rocky, one of the best heavyweights of all time.

I know, was just joking around at the point that you missed that Sylvestor Stallone is actually on the show for doing a boxing movie.

I know, was just joking around at the point that you missed that Sylvestor Stallone is actually on the show for doing a boxing movie.

They had to put him on the show becuase to the general public he relates to boxing. They have to draw the non-boxing community in order to gain ratings that are resonable.

Some other notes on the Contender that were not mentioned on the show....

~ The offical scores for the Manfredo/Gomez fight were:
50-45 / 49-46 / 48-47

~ Alfonso Gomez is now 11-2-1 (4 ko)
His first loss as professional came in his second fight vs at
the time a 3-0 opponent in Las Vegas. That opponent...Ishe

~ Ishe was pretty much right about Manfredo's opponents, the only names I recognized was a 10 round decision over Victor Rosado and he won a 12 round decision over Anthony Bonsante in 2004 defending his NABO title. Anthony Bonsante if you didnt recognize is also on the contender. Ishe is 14-0 (7 KOs) with wins against Randall Bailey, David Estrada, and Sam Garr.

Yea Ishe beat bailey. I really hope he doesnt win it either. They really put together an impressive group of fighters. Should be some good match ups in the upcoming shows. Heres some info on the remaining fighters.

EAST

Ahmed Kaddour - Age - 23 , 18-0 (9 KOs)
Only has had 4 fights in the US. Compiled an 81-1 amateur record, the lone loss was controversal.

Brent Cooper (Cowboy from Nashville) 20-2-2 (15 KOs)
Has not faught since 2003, and has faced no competition.
Lost and Drew to a 44-189-12 fighter.

Jeff Fraza - 16-2 (10 KOs)
Trained by Mickey Ward, Smallest fighter on the show.

Jimmy Lange - 24-1-1 (17 KOs)
Trained by Buddy McGirt, Avenged only loss with 3rd round TKO
Sidenote: Prays with a priest before every fight. His priest has only missed two fights in his career.

Jonathon Reid - Age 31 - 33-1 (19 KOs)
Only loss came to William Joppy in 2000. Reid was a late replacement and was TKOd in the 4th.

Juan De La Rosa - Age 18 - 12-0-1 (11KOs)
Turned pro at age of 15 in Mexico. Has faught three fights in US.

Naji Turpin - 11-1 (8KOs)
We all probably know the story here.

Yea no problem. I enjoyed the show despite over-Hollywood edited fights. They grouped together a good group of fighters and put together a overall intersting show that does a good job showing boxing in and out of the ring. I wish they would show unedited fights, but I understand there are time restraints and they need to keep as many non-boxing watchers as possible. I did some research on the fighters and found the story line and possible match ups interesting and thought I would share with you guys.
