i just tuned in watching the fight man they really butcher the fight. The 2nd round was only like 30 secs. I thought they were gonna show the full rounds. Well tell me wat u guys think

Just like the next great champ, way too Hollywood, they got guys with cowboy hats, Iraqis but no PR's, and even a West Coast vs. East Coast(whats that about?) thing with people who arent even from the East Coast, I'll enjoy watching it cause its about boxing, but I dont really feel it.

Pretty pathetic that they can't fit a measley five rounds into a one hour show. The editing of the fights ruins the whole show.

I enjoyed the show. I was disappointed that they didn't show the entire fight, but I can understand that they don't want to lose the general public. Overall I think this is a show I will continue to watch, unlike the next great champ.

AHAHAHHA thAt **** was funny, na i think that show licked balls like everyone else said its way too holywood with all the drama and the butchered fights, it makes boxing look more like a soap opera try out than a sport. the challenges were gay too because in boxing your challenge is yourself and your opponent, thats it theres no team of boxers with you although you have your coach, its totally stupid it should show them hitting tthe bags more and ****....puts a completely different perspective on boxing

If youre single with no living family and want to kill yourself, then whatever...it's still not an answer, but it is your choice and hurts no one but yourself. With not only a wife but a baby for God's sake, that's just awful. How selfish! That poor little girl has to grow up not only without a dad, but with the knowledge that her dad was too much a coward to face daily problems and try and get thru them if only for her! I wouldnt wish that **** on any child! :(

Well, I watched it, and I've gotta say, I wasnt impressed! They had the perfect opportunity to make this show damn good, and I think they blew it! WAAAYYY too much drama, too much emphasis put on the punches, and the way they kept swinging the camera on Leonard and Sly after one of them landed a good punch made me think that the whole damn thing was scripted out! See, my paranoia is the big problem with reality tv...I'm convinced that they had the winner picked well in advance, and almost every word out of their mouths comes from a script (the reason I stopped watching the Great Race) and maybe I'm too cynical, but I got the vibe that the Contender was no different.
Regardless, it definately was not put together with the true fight fan in mind, and needless to say I was very disappointed! I dont know if I'll watch again, but then again I'll like to see Jesse ko'ed, so maybe I will.
Oh, and I agree, Smith *****ed out. And tried SOOOOOO hard to act like it was cause the others on his team wanted him to fight TOO much..please, give me a break! :rolleyes: His mouth is apparently bigger than his confidence in himself!

The name of the show is "The Contender", so why would it not feature pro prospects that are on the verge of being contenders. That is what seperates it from The Next Great Champ. I like this show better, because I want to actually see some skilled fighters fight. I bet that the winner of this show could easily beat the top 3 fighters from the next great champ...

The only thing that really annoys me about this show are the matches, since they don't show you anything. We don't ****ing need cutaways to the gay ass audience. We don't need SOUND EFFECTS and editing tricks, such as the slow motion that someone mentioned. We don't need the dramatic music. OMG that's pathetic. Supposedly the DVD will have the full length fights. Heh, we'll see.

If Ishe does lose, I definitely want to see the full fight because I can't believe he'd lose to any of these bums without seeing it for myself.

The episode Ishe is eliminated is the episode that I lose all interest.
