rope a dope - you don't have to punch, just then when your opponent is exhausted

in todays day and age if you try the rope a dope you would get obliviated, the rope a dope is a myth, ali used this tactic but it was always used with some combos:boxing:

the rope a dope is viable means of exhausting an opponent.

the rope a dope is viable means of exhausting an opponent.the rope a dope was used one time and one time only in zaire,it has never been used since, ali was getting clobbered if george was not injured before the fight which got is stamina off guard ali would of been hospitalized with broken ribs, look at the punishment ali took, yes he won but i dont think he would want to do that again:drillserg

excuse me, yes he was injured, but he wasn't injured during that fight, george foreman said that african's were putting poison in his food, he was going to get assassinated, etc. Stuff like that, which caused him to eventually lose (idk, lost his composure? this is at the time george foreman is a christian, so I don't think you wanna go around calling it BS).

that is right george was not the same there in zaire, which is why i believe if the rope a dope was used on him in the states george would of flattened ali,ali had a great chin and absorbed a lot of punishment:boxing:

For example, I consider a tactic stay in the distance. Basic yes, but it works.

if a fighter stays in the distance he would get kayoed fast, probably would be the fastest kayo in the history of boxing:boxing:

Amatuer or Professional?

Basically for the Amatuers the only logical tactic is to hit your opponent as many times possible in 6 minutes. It doesn't matter if you hit his arm or leg or shoulder. One punch equals one point. At least that's how they do bull***** out here in Cali. Fcuk the amatuers.

The pro's i couldn't tell you anything specific about the pro's personally, cus i'm not there yet. But from my understanding, you wanna try and destroy the mutha fcuka in front of you...without getting hit.

well strategy in boxing is very complicated. it depends on yourself aswell as your oponent.

but its basicly where in the ring the fight is taking place, from which distance, at which pace and what type of punches are being thrown.

like the last time i sparred i stayed in the centre of the ring, boxed from long range, used mainly straight punches down the middle mixing it up to the body and head. i moved to the left most of the time to take away my sparring partners left hook, make him throw rights at which point i eighter tried beating him to the punch or slipping to the outside and ripping the liver.

made sure i stayed on the outside cuz even though the guy i sparred was heavier i was still taller so from a distance i could use both speed and height to my advantage. i also know the guy i sparred gets tired. so i made sure i controled the pace. i stayed in the centre of the ring so when he attacked i could step back, the plan was also to jump on him and put punches togheter when he tried to take a breather but it didnt go down like that, hadnt sparred in ages so i was a bit too careful. he still got tired in the second and third rounds though but again i was too careful to really take advantage. have been out of the gym a while so i didnt really feel i had my timing and rhytm down so i played it safe not really feeling comftorable i could get out of the way as quick as usual.
