Believe it or not, over here in Limeyland, where boxing is in its death-throes (only just this week concluding its coverage on terrestial television, meaning only about 2-3 million of a country of 70 million can get access to it) we don't really know Oscar all that well.

The guy's so pretty he could make a straight man (take no notice of the avatar, I lost a bet) turn his head, and he had the balls to step way outside of his weight class.

But he's also just one fight away from an extremely dodgy decision and he does seem to ***** a bit. And is he even that good a fighter? I don't know - as I said, we don't him that well over here - but I was surprised to see him go through Gatti with no problems.

many people don't like him for many reasons, jealousy being one of them because he is a great fighter. Among Mexican fans he isn't as big as he could of been. one reason is because he fought and beat chavez twice in the twilight of his career, the other reason is because he is a good boxer and he doesnt always stand up and fight (see trinidad). He does have alot of crossover appeal though, the album, the show , all that crap. Among boxing fans i think most will acknkowlegde he is really good but still say they dont like him. His album was garbage though, i listen almost exclusively to spanish music and so do most people i know, only 1 person had his album (my aunt who's white husband bought it for her) and it sucked.

Sturm wasn't robbed, Oscar bought the title from Sturm....will Felix ever make that much $ again??? NO!!!! Because the WBO belt is a joke, and Oscar knew he could "buy" it from Sturm and his mgt. team

Sturm beat a guy out of his weight class, and he didnt even do it impressively.He should of won the fight,but making it seem like he's really impressive for beating oscar is too much.He should of been able to do what Hopkins did if he was really that great.

And as for de la hoya,well he's a great boxer,he's fought a lot of greats, I dont think he's ever taking a beating even at his loses,except for hopkins,but he didnt belong there IMO.I think the reason he isnt as liked by a great many people, is because alot of the big fight he's been in,werent the most exciting,even if he won, theres just nothing that exciting about his style unless you can a appreciate a guy that boxes great, which is why i think that hardcore boxing fans would pick him over most his opponents.

He was one of the handful of boxers I could name and recognize before coming to this site.

I think the biggest reason he is not liked is because after dominating Tito for several rounds he decided to run away. He decided to take a rest and that caused him to loose the match.
