1. "Ali's alley" was a reference made to Ali's greatness and heart displayed in the later rounds of his fights. The championship rounds.

2. The Washerwoman was George Chuvalo of course.

3. I'm guessing a little here but perhaps the "overflow" was an Islamic thing about how whites controlled everything and were overflowing onto the black culture but soon Allah (God) would turn the tide and give more power back to the oppressed blacks.

Okay, commentators called the championship rounds "Ali's Alley" and Chuvalo was the Washerwoman.

The third I picked because it was obscure. Not particularly, pleasant, either - in his co-written autobiography Ali talked about abstaining from sex before a fight. He said that God "gets rid of the overflow" via wet dreams. The fact that he said this seemed to indicate that he didn't realise you're jacking one off in your sleep - he seemed to think it just happened by itself.

Yeah, I know, gross answer - the thought of Ali bashing one out isn't the sort of image I like to conjure in my mind, but the fact that it's so bizarre meant it stayed in the memory.
