View Full Version : Who has the most heart in all of boxing today? brickhouse187 03-04-2005, 01:38 PM IM with Gatti all the way. RwK 03-04-2005, 01:46 PM IM with Gatti all the way. Im with you on that one all the way. That is a no-brainer. aand 03-04-2005, 05:29 PM John Ruiz? He has no skills, no speed, no punch, no defence, he is the best so he should have a very big heart ;) . jack_the_rippuh 03-04-2005, 05:33 PM There are so many who I would conisder up there in the heart department, but if I had to choose, I'd say Gatti as well. Not that there aren't any fighters who probably have more heart than him, but with all his weaknesses, he always finds himself in a position where his heart has to pull him through.. PessimisticPug 03-04-2005, 05:35 PM nobody compares with gatti when your talking about a fighter having some heart......Rockin' borikua 03-04-2005, 05:39 PM <--- This guy. After a 2 year layoff take on Mayorga, follow by Winky and maybe Nard is next...That's a real fighter. :boxing: RwK 03-04-2005, 05:40 PM nobody compares with gatti when your talking about a fighter having some heart......Rockin' Gatti is an obvious favorite: another name to mention is Hopkins. He suffered a dislocated shoulder in the 6th round of the Echols fight, and decided to fight on. Compares to Gatti's broken hand, considering Gatti could box with the left. B-Hop uses his shoulder to absorb the shock of the punch. One person who will never make this thread: Quitali. quit the fight with byrd due to an identical injury....if not less severe......and LATER in the fight. ChicoEscuelaNYC 03-04-2005, 05:44 PM <--- This guy. After a 2 year layoff take on Mayorga, follow by Winky and maybe Nard is next...That's a real fighter. :boxing: You just stated that Mayorga and Winky are both "tuneups" in another thread. You can't have it both ways. jack_the_rippuh 03-04-2005, 05:47 PM Looks like he got you there, Borikua.. Warrior Spirit 03-04-2005, 05:48 PM This is easy! It has to be Arturo Gatti,he may have the biggest heart ever! If you look up the word warrior in the dictionary, you should see a picture of Arturo "Thunder" Gatti. PessimisticPug 03-04-2005, 05:50 PM I have to tell you guys about a guy named Demetrius Pattilo. He was an amatuer that I would meet a few times in the ring out of Detroit. This guy was tough. We were fighting over in Canada at an outdoor show. It was on the grounds of a ford plant I believe. Anyway, were fighting and throwing bombs, the both of us. I landed one to his nose at some point and the blood began to flow. This guy would not get off of me. Everytime I would punch him in the nose I could see the grimace of pain and his eyes would water up. That dude never stopped coming after me. I had a good jab and continued to pop him in the nose but he worked through it, pain and all. At the next show his coach, Levett, would come up and tell me that his nose was broken during that fight. I was amazed at his tenacity, he wanted the fight. We would meet again later in the Golden Gloves and he was the same aggressive fighter. I eeked out a close decision that I honestly thought belonged to him. We would talk at different shows and stuff and become sort of like friends. He was a good guy. Just wanted you guys to know about a guy who definately had some heart, Demetrius Pattilo. I dont believe that he ever turned pro..........Rockin' borikua 03-04-2005, 05:51 PM You just stated that Mayorga and Winky are both "tuneups" in another thread. You can't have it both ways. I was jokin with Scap...check that thread again. ChicoEscuelaNYC 03-04-2005, 06:04 PM No, Mayorga was a glorified tuneup. You were right the first time. borikua 03-04-2005, 06:13 PM No, Mayorga was a glorified tuneup. You were right the first time. You could say that it was a good match for Trinidad, but still its was a big risk for a guy that was out for two years... jack_the_rippuh 03-04-2005, 06:16 PM You could say that it was a good match for Trinidad, but still its was a big risk for a guy that was out for two years... A guy out of the game for two years vs. a guy who was out of the middleweight division for his whole life.. psychopath 03-04-2005, 08:06 PM It looks like the majority says it's GATTI . . . and I have no problem with that. :) I just wanted to mention Williams . . . who showed tremendous heart with his fight against Klitscho . . . the guy was pummeled so many times and yet he refused to buckled down and keeps coming at Klitscho. That's heart for me. !! Anorak 03-04-2005, 08:08 PM It's a toss up between Etienne, Tyson and Corley. !!
