Emmanuel Augustus/Burton : spectacular fighter, technically gifted and tough as gatti or Ward. Ward/Burton is really one of my favourite fights ever, if someone has it please upload
What a shame he couldn't be more focused and serious about training, he would be a world champ IMO

Life story of Cornelius Sanders, the golfer..
you know I actually think him playing all that golf played a part in his left hand being so fast, since the golf swing replicates the hip movement of your power hand

PessimisticPug 03-04-2005, 02:21 PM a good journeyman worth mentioning and defensive genius to boot:Greg Wright
Greg is a tough guy. I've known him for many years and actually wrote and posted an article about him a good while back. Greg is a super nice guy but throw him between the ropes and he is one tough person to fight. I still see him every now and then when I go to the different gyms. Greg is a skilled fighter who takes on anyone, I dont think he cares how tough or good they may be, he fights them and fights to win....Rockin'

Another thing about Greg, he's pretty articulate, and thinks and speaks very proper. I've seen four or five of his fights, and haven't seen him eat a power shot yet. Seems like a tough guy to fight, I wouldn't want to fight him, just because his style would make me look bad and uncoordinated. ;)
He also likes to talk in the ring, he gets very comfortable in the middle of fights, striking up conversations and touching gloves 3-4 times per round. ;) seems like a cool person
ps- is that you in the avatar?
PessimisticPug 03-04-2005, 02:39 PM ya, greg is very articulate. You would never know that he was a fighter by the way he speaks and carries himself unless he told you he was a fighter. Thats one of the things that I have always liked about Greg, he is just a nice, classy guy that would rather laugh with you than throw fists with you, I am talking outside of the ring, ofcourse.
Greg likes the talk when he boxes. I believe that this helps him get into his groove and find his rythme. in the gyms he was always talking to his sparring partners. Ripping on them for this or telling them to watch out fot that, and then hitting them with what he told them to look out for. Greg is a good defensive fighter but when he wants to turn it up and go on the offense he is good, and he has good power. His record might not show this but it is there.
greg is one of the good guys in the sport. He trains hard, fights hard and gives his all when ever, where ever. I dont know why he didnt do better, he has skill. If your interested I will do an interview with him the next time I see him, he is a very intersting guy.
I am happy that he was noticed by someone in the forum, he desrves to be recognized. He is a good fighter who gives everything that he has when he steps in the ring..........Rockin'

Yeah, I have never even heard him mentioned, and his defensive skills deserve respect. He's a true product of the legendary Kronk Gym..although he does have a sparring partner mentality, that doesn't take away his great reflexes and head movement. I haven't seen the guy get hit with a power punch yet.
PessimisticPug 03-05-2005, 03:34 PM how did you know that greg works out of kronk. few people know that. I know you dont I..........Rockin'
