View Full Version : Does Gatti stand a chance against Mayweather? brickhouse187 03-03-2005, 01:19 PM I think that if Gatti boxes and makes Mayweather fight he could by decision or knock out Italian250 03-03-2005, 01:31 PM contrary to what every anti-Gatti fool on here will say...the answer is **** YES!!!!!!!!! Slipx 03-03-2005, 01:32 PM Gatti is going to beat the **** out of Mayweather He will force Floyd into a war, then punk him out. If Corely can wobble Floyd with a weak punch like he did, Gatti will take his fruitcup for sure. brickhouse187 03-03-2005, 01:36 PM I m glad other people agree with me. Floydmayweather 03-03-2005, 02:30 PM Yes, he stands a chance but Floyd will bust him open and give him a really beating even if Gatti catches him with i doubt. jack_the_rippuh 03-03-2005, 02:31 PM Fighting like a boxer, no, going to war, yes.. delroy02 03-03-2005, 02:46 PM Gatti is being written off too easily in this fight. Floyd was buzzed by Chop Chop in his first fight at 140 and Gatti hits alot harder IMO. Gatti has underated boxing skill and moves quite well, this will be a hard fight for Floyd. RwK 03-03-2005, 03:24 PM Gatti is going to beat the **** out of Mayweather Yeah. Right. The chances of that happening are like being struck by lightning 4 times. It happens, it just is not going to when they fight. IwatchBoxing 03-03-2005, 03:29 PM Gatti took punishment from a prime Oscar for five rounds, Bruseles took Mayweathers for eight rounds = UD if Mayweather wins, or KO by Gatti (dont think it will happen). Mayweather will UD or KO Gatti 10th RD DR. FREECLOUD 03-03-2005, 03:45 PM i think the question should be Does mayweather stand a chance against gatti. jack_the_rippuh 03-03-2005, 03:54 PM Regardless of what you people think, Mayweather is a sharpshooter who proved that he can punch. Don't be surprised if Mayweather can shock Gatti with a punch to the body or the head. It's not like Gatti has the best chin at 140lbs. chingon28 03-03-2005, 04:00 PM mayweather has not felt a punch like gatti's before. jack_the_rippuh 03-03-2005, 04:03 PM Well ask the punchers who he has faced how hard it is to land a clean shot on him, namely Corrales.. Mayweather is going to make Gatti look like an old man.. People tend to forget how one-dimensional Gatti is when he ups the competition. Kimmy 03-03-2005, 04:03 PM >>mayweather has not felt a punch like gatti's before.>> No he hasn`t, because he is too elusive to be hit by such a shot! I appreciate Gatti`s power and heart but Mayweather should be able to dance around all night and beat Gatti up. Gatti is a 15 to 1 underdog in my book! bangbangko 03-03-2005, 04:07 PM OF COURSE Gatti stands a chance! The "old" Gatti stood less of a chance...the Gatti who didn't employ much of his boxing skills but rather chose to go balls to the wall and brawl. The "new" Gatti, a product of Buddy McGirt's development, stands one hell of a chance against Pretty Boy. That being said...if Floyd can make this happen, I'm putting my money on Arturo!!! BB Super_Lightweight 03-03-2005, 04:09 PM The question is: "Does Gatti have a chance?" Anyone who answers anything other than "yes" is a fool. Of course Gatti has a chance, and it's certainly better than the chance of beng struck by lightning four times...that was just lame. stix 03-04-2005, 05:53 AM :biggthump Hell yeah, he's got a chance. A good chance. The proverbial puncher's chance, and then some. Gatti Rocks  It's gonna be a damn good fight too. :boxing: czars_salad 03-04-2005, 06:58 AM the question should be the other way around: does mayweather stand a chance against gatti? the answer is no pinaldino 03-04-2005, 07:05 AM Well ask the punchers who he has faced how hard it is to land a clean shot on him, namely Corrales.. Mayweather is going to make Gatti look like an old man.. People tend to forget how one-dimensional Gatti is when he ups the competition. I totally agree...if mayweather is at 100% physically, with both hands healthy, the only gatti's chance is a lucky haymaker. the rest will be a beating by FM from the outside czars_salad 03-04-2005, 07:16 AM I totally agree...if mayweather is at 100% physically, with both hands healthy, the only gatti's chance is a lucky haymaker. the rest will be a beating by FM from the outside i do agree that mayweather probably has the best lateral movements in the game today, which makes him harder to hit. he also has a very fast hands. But i still have the faith in gatti's power and tenacity elveiel 03-04-2005, 07:24 AM I think Mayweather will win because i think Gatti will try and outbox him, that aint gonna work because nobody boxes on the outside as well as Mayweather. If Gatti forces the pace, gets inside and trys to back Mayweather up he'll stand a great chance, if that were the case i might even pick Gatti. Its a hard fight to pick, it depends what version on Gatti turns up. DR. FREECLOUD 03-04-2005, 08:17 AM mayweather like all fighters is hitable. he is very elusive and knows how to use the whole ring to his advantage i agree. it kinda reminds of dlh running around the ring except pbf throws punches and with lightning speed while he does it. Mr. Untouchable 03-04-2005, 08:31 AM Nope, Gatti has been fighting chumps lately and floyd has fought some relative unknowns, but they were tough and sometimes undefeated unknowns. I think Gatti is going to taste a lot of letaher that evening... WillieW 03-04-2005, 11:42 AM I don't think Gatti has much of a shot here. The skill level is lopesided. As much as I hate to say it. With that said, people tend to go one way or the other on this fight. Some say Mayweather will make Gatti look silly...others say Gatti will KO PBF. After watching their last 3-4 fights, I say it will be close with Mayweather winning. Gatti will put on a far better performance than his detractors expect him to, but it won't be enough. I expect Mayweather to be hurt at least twice, but not go down...nothing in his previous fights shows he has a bad chin. Mayweather wins, most likely in a Split. Not contested. RwK 03-04-2005, 11:45 AM I don't think Gatti has much of a shot here. The skill level is lopesided. As much as I hate to say it. IMO, more lopsided than when he fought DLH. And we all know what happened there. I tink Mayweather is way too fast and hungry for Gatti. PBF T.K.O. 4. |
