That is absolutely hysterical! I love the bit about him saying Ruiz wasn't out against Tua because his left leg was still twitching!

I can't believe the poor guy has to suffer this abuse on his own forum... I was looking around there's other threads called stuff like "Ruiz sucks".

I cracked up at a thread at the top of the page, "Members Banned". The forum moderator actually lists the names of people she's booted. They include names like "Johnnyluvs****" and "Ruuizlikespenises"

That was hilarious. I am actually grateful for the ignorance of the guy who kept it going. It made it 10 times funnier! I have even taken an excerpt as my signature line! Thanks for directing me to the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

why John Ruiz is the best with facts
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:45:28 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a new member of this great site. So the first thing I would do is to explain why I believe John Ruiz is the greatest fighter in history. Here are some facts to support my claim.

Power: Ruiz = power. Just look at the guy. Pure iron!!! His punches carry unbelievable amount of power, I can honestly say he is one of the best punchers in history of boxing behind only the great Ali (not Laila, as you all know Laila is a girl even though she punches pretty hard too). Anyone gets tagged by Ruiz is going to feel something. He knocked out Evander Holyfield(I know he got up, but was out on his feet. He was ruined in that fight) for god’s sake who I believe has the second best chin in history of the sport, and everyone knows who the number 1 is. (Ruiz)

Chin: Ruiz’s got the best chin period! Went the distance with almost every quality fighters he faced. Yeah yeah, I know he nearly got his head knocked off against Tua, but the key word here is ‘nearly’. His head is still there, safe and sound. And he became a better fighter after that. Not to make excuses for him, but he just wasn’t himself that particular night, his head wasn’t even there, so Tua didn’t really knock off anything IMO. Go back and watch the fight, you can see that even Ruiz was having a bad night, he was still dominating Tua in every categories before Tuaboy landed that luck punch. And John was just getting ready to take Tuababy out too! I could see the fire and passion in his eyes when he was lying on the canvas unconsciously. My point is that no one can knock out John Ruiz unless the quietman lets him to.

Skills and technique: Obviously John is very gifted boxer-puncher, everyone agrees. But people don’t really notice those little things that he does very well. Things like holding in close and some other stuff that I won’t spend time to list them all here. People keep talking about holding is bad for boxing. I only agree to a certain degree. When you can hold someone as well as Ruiz does for his whole career, it becomes art. Fans have to realize that holding is not easy, not only physically but mentally as well. Case in point, I tried this great technique in a fight once, and I remember that everyone around in the gym was calling me names ‘#@$##$@ *****, #@!$@$ queer, #@$#@% _________(you fill in the blank). I was stupid enough to let go, and got my ass kicked. That was when I truly understand the purpose of holding in a fight. You either grab on like a ***** or get your ass beat like one. Personally I prefer holding. Again, Ruiz proves to be right.

Conclusion: To list all the quality of John Ruiz would take days if not weeks. So I will just stop here. Even with these limited facts I list here, a true boxing fan can’t help but recognize John Ruiz as the greatest fighter of all time. Top of the P4P list. Ask yourself, can you see B-Hop or Gayweather getting out of Ruiz’s headlock for 12 rounds? I don’t think so. Tszyu, 3rd on most P4P ranking, have a great right hand (second best next to you-know-who) might hurt Ruiz momentarily, but Ruiz’s heart and determination to hold would carry him through.

Read this post by our amusing Ruiz fan, its hillarous!

>>Vitali in 8? He can’t even get out of one of the Ruiz’s fatal headlocks in 8 rounds. I guarantee you that. Sometimes I get a little frustrated with people who just can’t seem to understand John Ruiz’s technical superiority. I mean he showed more in his loss to Tua than Fatali did in all his wins. Granted, it was only 19 secs, but Ruiz displayed great footwork, blazing jab(should’ve thrown more though, only got off one or two), granite chin and a warrior’s heart. He didn’t get up from that luck punch, but I swear he would’ve knocked out Tuababy in the same round if he did. And I remember that I kept waiting for him to jump up and finish off his opponent, but it just wasn’t his night. In addition to that, I think the canvas was a little too slippery which made it even harder to get up from that knock down. But not to make any excuses for John Ruiz though, he learned from his mistakes and became a better title holder. Once he gets hold of something - championship belts, fighters and whatever comes close, he just will not let go. That’s how good John Ruiz is. Undisputed in 2006. >>

That was one of the greatest practical jokes I must have run into.
I'm gonna save the whole conversation and read it when I'm sad.
It's a good one and quite early for April Fools Day.
