Needed to stay amateur more.Turned pro to soon.

But he has a good trainer in Canada's Teddy Atlas,Russ Anber.

Still I'd like him to fight a few more weaker opponnets till stepping up.

I read about him in the ring, the plan is to bring him up slow, like so he has 40 fights before his first title fight

Lemieux is looking great. I honestly think he will be champion, i haven't seen that many of his fights but from what i have seen i think he is still a little rough around the edges, he needs a few more fights and he will be ready to step up.

he needs a lot of improvement, when he throws his right his left is way to low,his foot work needs to be fine tuned, and his counter punches should be thrown with more finesse, also he should not hit a boxer when he is down as he did in his last fight, other than that with improvements in these fields he can be a contender:boxing:

I read a piece on him in the Ring magazine, went the distance only once, and that was in a 4 rounder.

seems to have decent power as well.

I don't think he's as big a puncher as his record suggests but he does have pretty heavy hands, looks like a sucker for an uppercut though and needs more work.

from fight news:

"Make it 18 for 18 as middleweight knockout sensation David Lemieux destroyed former ‘Contender’ series star Donnie McCrary (24-10-2 13KO) at 2:40 of the opening round. After exchanging combinations in the middle of the ring, McCrary walked straight back with his hands down and was brutalized by a Lemieux right hand, dropping the Missouri hard to the canvas in a crumpled heap. McCrary managed to beat the count, but Lemieux managed a right to the body and followed it immediately with another to the head which had McCrary down and out and the fight being called immediately."

Good stuff. Always like to see those international prospects doing well. Only young though. Would like to see him in against the likes of... Brian Vera, Ishe Smith, Sam Soliman, that calibre of fighter should do him some good.

Lemieux will be fighting Walid Smichet on April 3.

Many will remember that Walid gave John Duddy a tough fight some months ago, some felt he won.

he should fight Matt Korobov.

They'll fight at some point, if they both make it to the top.

Tomorrow's fight will be an interesting matchup Lemieux.

Walid gave John Duddy hell in their fight.

I agree, Walid can be dangerous and I think it's the best fighter Lemieux will have fought since his pro debut. I predict a 5th round KO for Lemieux. He has the tools to become a world champion at 160.

Kelly Pavlik faced a poorer level of opposition in his first 20 fights. So did Paul Williams! :nono:

Lemieux is still very young. We should take into consideration his lack of amateur experience.

He's stepped up his level of opposition the last few fights, and today he faces a decent journeyman.

He'll be ready for a world title shot by the time he's age 22.

Heard pretty good reviews about him. One of the most talented prospects.

Well, not enough for the Networks in Canada to pick up his fights. I'm in Canada and can't find a single channel that shows the fight tonight..too bad..would be interesting to watch the fight. Smichet is a power puncher that can make life miserable for any opponent

That's because the fight is not televised, GYM (the promoter of David Lemieux) had problem with ''V'' channel and they were the owner of fight cards from GYM. The contract is ending really soon and the promoter decided not to televised this fight. The replay of the fight will be available in like 2-3 months they said.

Lemieux definitely has potential.

I hope I can find a video of the Smichet fight.
